“Loved this B&B”

Dorianna picked us up at the train station and brought our luggage up to the room. You enter your room from the outside of the building, there are 10-12 steps up which was not a problem for us. The room was just what we had asked for. Dori puts your breakfast in your room which consists of packs of toast and cookies. She stocks the refrig with orange juice and bottled water. That worked out fine and we appreciated having water in our room. Since no boats were running due to rough seas, we used the train to the Cinque Terre. The B&B was very close to the station, an easy walk. Dori also recommended several restaurants and we ate at 3 of them. We had a great experience staying here and would recommend it highly.

Very clean with modern furniture and bathroom, simple but more than adequate. Dorianna is a wonderful inn keeper, leaving chocolates and a birthday card on the little table for my sister when we returned from dinner. La Gerbera is located within easy walking distance of train station and good restaurants and shops in town. Be aware there are, as almost everywhere in Italy, steps you must be able to navigate to get to your room.

Stayed at this B&B for two nights in April and had a wonderful visit. The host, Doriana, was incredibly helpful: picked us up at the train station (even after an hour delay), suggested many good places to eat and visit, and held our bags after we checked out for the day before we took the train. The room was beautiful and clean with coffee and snacks for breakfast. The location was perfect for taking many walks or the train into the Cinque Terre.

Doriana was the perfect host. She even collected us from the station and pointed out all the places we would need during our stay.

She was extremely helpful and and friendly, and wanted to ensure that we had what we needed. The room was newly renovated with everything we needed. The bathroom was lovely and the outlook pleasant. The room was a good size.

Her dinner recommendation was perfect.

Location was a nice walk not far from town or the station.

I would recommend this bed and breakfast.

Really good location for starting off on a Cinque Terre holiday or walk.

We are two couples who stayed in this B&B in late September 2012 for 4 nights and found it to be just perfect. The owner Dorina was an extremely helpful and pleasant person, collecting us and returning us and bags to the station, and offering restaurant suggestions as well as providing very spacious, clean, modern and well appointed rooms. The breakfast was excellent with fresh croissants delivered daily. Levanto is an ideal place to base yourself as the train runs to the Cinque Terre villages with a park information centre at the station, the town is easy to access and relatively uncrowded unlike the villages. We also spent a day visiting the charming town of Portofino travelling by both train and bus. We enjoyed spending time on the lounges on the lawn at the end of the day at the B&B and then walking a short distance to the local restaurants which were good value and offered food of a high quality. Overall this was an excellent place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the Cinque Terre area. Thank you Dorina!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the lower level that opened out onto the lawn and had lounges to sit and have a drink on...

Firstly, in our opinion, Levanto is the best location for visiting the Cinque Terre. It is a lovely town, with much easier access by train or car than either of the five villages, which are only minutes away by train. We stayed four nights at La Gerbera and have no hesitation in recommending it as a great place to stay. It made a huge difference to us that the owner, Doriana, picked us up at the railway station. After that, she explained the shortcut, which was less than 5 minutes downhill. Our en suite room on the ground floor was easily accessible, bright, modern, spacious enough and "squeaky clean". The bathroom was roomy, with a good shower, bidet and plenty of towels, refreshed daily. The room has a well stocked fridge (with soft drinks included in the price) and an electric jug. We particularly appreciated the fact that there were enough good quality coat hangers and clothes storage. The ambient noise levels, security and views were all good. Our only complaint was that the king size bed was maybe a little too firm for us (but that is an individual preference). Doriana is very friendly and helpful and her English is perfectly adequate. She brings fresh focacia / sweet pastries each morning, and the fridge is stocked with good quality fruit juice, jams and butter. The coffee is instant, but this did not worry us as we prefer tea in the morning. When there was a problem with the WiFi, she got someone in to fix it straight away. We really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Pick the street level room at the front for "roll-in" access with suitcases.

La Gerbera is a perfect place to stay in Levanto. It's located little bit outside of crowdy streets of Levanto. The owner Doriana is very friendly and welcoming person. Everything was perfect great location, comfortable room, view from the window and atmosphere of the place. We spent three beautiful days here. But I would like spend at least one week here because there are so many places to visit in this area.
