Yep, this lady was a character alright. I think her strategy is, a hug a day equals an extra green dot on Tripadvisor. Any you know what, it just might. She is definitely charming, and I think it comes from the heart. Aside from the hugs and smiles and rainbows and unicorns, the hotel is actually a pretty solid choice. It's well located with comfortable rooms, cold AC, and good breakfast. There's free parking across the street, and if you want to catch the cinque terre train, it's about a 15 minute walk. Overall a good choice if you choose Levanto as your home base.

Tucked away off a small street in the ancient section of Levanto is a marvelous little 5 bedroom "affitta camere" whose name translates to The Compass Rose. Very appropriate for this setting by the Ligurian Sea. Marco and his mother Rosanna make a great team operating this fine little establishment. It is lovely to see and comfortable to stay at. It has a great location for going to the beach, seeing the town, getting to restaurants, and walking to the Train Station to visit Cinque Terre. It is also close to the trailhead to hike to Monterosso al Mare. Rosanna is a particularly sweet woman who made us feel like we were family visiting her.

This is our 2nd visit to Rosa dei Venti, Rosa and her Son Marco are just so lovely and welcoming, this was the reason we returned again We visited with friends and had four of the rooms. There are 4 large double rooms with lovely bathrooms and a smaller double room. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The breakfast has lots of choice with fresh yogurt and omelettes everyday along with breads, cakes jams and cheeses. Choice of hot drinks and fruit juice, and Rosa is happy to cling film any left overs for you to take out with you for the day. It is in a great location close to beach and shops, and about 10 mins walk from the train station, to enable you to visit all of the villages and surrounding areas. This year we hired bike's from across from the B & B for 2 euros an hour and rode through the old railway tunnels to Bonassola and Fumarea. We love the Cinque Terre and will definitely return to see Rosa and Marco again.

We spent 5 nights in Rosanna and Marco,s B&B in Levanto, on the strength of the great reviews on trip advisor. We weren't disappointed. It was like staying with an Italian family, complete with Rosa's washing drying at the front of the B&B, like a typical Italian home. Breakfast was from 8.00 and the wonderful aroma of baking bread greeted you each morning. Breakfast room is small and quirky and breakfast itself is wonderful, coffee of choice, omelette, yoghurt, orange juice, cereal, lovely fresh croissants and foccahia bread, all served by Rosa with a lovely smile and warm greeting. Rooms are clean and basic, with very good shower. We slept very well although the B&B is next to a church whose bells toll every 15 minutes. It didn't bother us, we kept the windows closed at night, most of the time.Very good a|c. Levanto is lovely and great for travelling to the Cinque Terre villages. Vernazza was our favourite, spent my birthday there! All in all I would agree with all that has been said before. Manageable walking distance from the train station to the B&B.

We spent 2 nights with Mama Rosa at her exceptionally clean B&B. It was a wonderful experience. She is SO warm and welcoming -- with no English. Breakfast was great and she does make a point to encourage you to pack up the leftover focaccia for a picnic later. We did just that and ate it later that day with a bottle of wine in the park at Montorosso!

Agree with all that is said about it's convenience. We had difficult time actually FINDING it with our GPS but we called and Marco came on his bike to retrieve us. Walk to the train station is not bad. W

You couldn't get a warmer welcome than the one you get at la rosa dei venti. It doesn't matter that mama Rosa doesn't speak English and we don't speak Italian she gets her point across anyway. The rooms are quirky and decorated with a nautical theme but very clean with up to date fittings. A fair walk from the station but we loved Levanto ...good to escape the Cinque Terre crowds at the end of each day and we sampled some great restaurants nearby. Good free wifi and a lovely warm, friendly atmosphere. Be prepared for lots of kisses. Mama Rosa demands three!!

I spent 2 nights with my girlfriend at Affittacamere Rosa Dei Venti and it was really good. The rooms are nice and spacious, with nice queen beds and clean bathroom. It is located in town and 5 minutes walk from the beach. It is a quiet neighborhood and parking is available as well as free wifi. Breakfast was nice with a nice croissant, bread and focaccia, yogurt, juice, omelet, coffee, etc...
Mama Rosa really makes you feel welcomed as well as Marco who stayed up until 3 am to give us our room key (we got lost on the way there!). Thanks again!
