My family of 3 stayed here for 2 nights. Chiara and Elisa were welcoming and super informative on the area and how to best view the Cinque Terra. The common courtyard is charming with plenty of seating. Room #1 is where we stayed. It was spotless, nicely furnished and had ample room for us. When we were considering on staying another night, Chiara offered to locate a room nearby because A'Durmi was full. She also offered us continued use of all their amenities including the garage while we would stay elsewhere. This is a family runned establishment that is exceptionally done - nothing negative to report here!

I can't recommend this hotel enough, the family that run it are the most friendly, helpful people. It is excellently located, 5 minute walk from the train station and 5 minute walk in the opposite direction to the beach. There is a beautiful communal garden and terrace, on site parking that is very reasonable, and a lovely friendly atmosphere. If you want to visit the Cinque terre, this is definitely the place to stay to avoid the tourist madness.

we had a good stay in levanto. the A Durmi was very good for what we wanted, as it had car parking ( important in italy, if you have a car) was clean and good location, being close to most everything, the girls who run A Durmi were very helpful and gave us good advice on things to do, nothing was a problem. the feel of A Durmi was very relaxed and was good to come back to in the evening to the quiet court yard, very nice.

the rooms do suffer from noise coming from the next room ( more so than any other place we found in many weeks of travel in italy), not really a problem to us, but worth mentioning, as some people do not like noise. wi fi, while free, was really only available if you went down into the breakfast area, bit of a pain, but worked OK if you made the effort to move away from your room.

Review of levanto

we only stayed at levanto to visit the cinque terre, and found the town a bit 'lacking' we tried various restaurants and the food was just OK, nothing special.( we weren't after gourmet) the overall feel of the town, to us was run down, compared to other places we visited in italy. the trains we caught to see the 5 towns were horribly out of schedule, resulting in us and many hundreds of other people catching the wrong trains and wasting hours trying to get back to levanto or the town originally required. this caused us to waste half a day and missed time that we could have spent at the towns. we asked the train officials each time but with no luck.(no language problems) lucky we were staying for a few days so we eventually got to see most of the towns. this is no reflection on A Durmi, but worth checking if you intend to visit cinque terre. we much preferred the amalfi coast to cinque terre, both had heaps of tourists but amalfi was less, 'run down' and better choice of restaurants, and transport options.

Room Tip: try and get a room that is not surrounded by others, if noise is a concern

Levanto is one train stop away from Cinque Terre. It is a lovely town and very conveniently located... 5 minutes away from Monerosso the first island of CT. We arrived in Levanto by train and the directions to Adurmi were easy to follow and about a five minute walk from the station. It is a lovely B&B. The rooms are clean and large and the bathroom is great. The walls are a little thin so you can hear your neighbours but that is the only fault. The garden is lovely with lots of tables and chairs.... The breakfast is not included in the price and costs 7 euros extra. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The best part of the B&B are the owners. It is run by two sisters and their mother. They are so friendly, warm and helpful... nothing is too much for them. On our last day, they even offered to drive us to the train station so that we didn't have to lug our large suitcaset.... I would definately recommend this lovely place.... and a special thank you to the wonderful women that run the place! (Nearly forgot to mention, wifi only really works in the dining room.... no wifi in the rooms....)

We stayed in Levanto for 2 nights in May to explore the Cinque Terre. Although Levanto is not technically part of the Cinque Terre, it is a convenient place to stay when visiting the Cinque Terre. A Durmi is very close to the train station (to get to the Cinque Terre), the beach, and Levanto's downtown. Our room at A Durmi was very clean - our room didn't have any windows (only glass doors), which was a downside as we couldn't have any fresh air at night.

This is a very basic B&B but one of the best bargains in town!...We stayed in a one bedroom apartment (comes with a kitchenette). Our apartment was on the second floor with a lovely terrace overlooking the garden. It was well equipped, homey and immaculately clean. This was exactly what we needed for our 4 day hiking (trekking) adventure around "Cinque Terre". A Durmi's location is unbeatable. You can walk to the train station in 5 minutes. They have a parking garage on premises (for an extra 5 Euros per day). The checkout time is a little early (10:00 AM), but they were very flexible with it. I must thank Chiara for all the help she had provided for us!...

Room Tip: If you have young children you might want to stay on the first floor, so the kids can easily go out...

We stayed here for 3 days in April 2014, and felt really cherished. I really appreciated A. Durmi's garden--a great working vegetable garden, with borage, canna, lemon trees, camellia and heaps more. The courtyard is a lovely space shared by the guests--great pebble mosaic, and big bowls of interesting succulents. We enjoyed the breakfasts of fruit, fresh bread and pastries, cheeses, prosciutto. I learned I like kumquats! The family who runs A. Durmi is wonderful. On arrival, Eliza made us cappuccinos and then told us about Levanto including walks and 2 great restaurants; made walking recommendations for Cinque Terre, and told us about a fabulous bike ride (flat and gorgeous). Chiara is just as great as Eliza. She speaks English and French fluently (maybe more), and did many kind things for us. Chiara used to live in San Francisco, and loves to travel, and takes good care of her traveling guests! And Mom sings in a lovely voice while she gardens. Plus Levanto is a great city to explore, and very pedestrian friendly, and great staging area for visiting Cinque Terre. We recommend also taking the ferry to Porto Venere. Chiara can tell you where to buy fabulous pesto! Ciao!
