We arrived at Levanto train station around 8pm, later than scheduled due to a national train strike that day (that happens a lot in Italy apparently). We knew the hotel was down by the beach and as there were no taxis we started walking. There were signs pointing towards most hotels, took about 15 min. Hotel garden is on the first floor so you have to carry bags up a flight of stairs. Very lovely and helpful staff who spoke English. Family room spacious with two single and 1 king config and nice ensuite.Little verandah we could hang our wet clothes on. Lovely continental breakfast. Beach and a park with playground right across the road where all the local kids play soccer every afternoon. Supermarket just around the corner, plenty of restaurants, only a train stop from the first of the Cinque Terre villages, lovely walks up the hills and just fun to explore all the backstreets of Levanto, such a charming little coastal village but without all the crowds. Can't wait to go back one day.
