“On the Cinque Terre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2013

We stayed here on a visit to Cinque Terre and were delighted with it. The room was clean and breakfast was plentiful. We had a balcony over looking the square, yet the room was quiet at night. The woman at the desk was warm, welcoming and very helpful. I am only sorry we did not stay here both nights of our visit here.

I stayed here for 3 nights, my room was on the first floor (one above the ground floor); the hotel reception desk is also on the first floor, along with the breakfast room. It was a bit of a schlepp to get my bags from the ground floor up a flight of stairs but oh well. Some rooms are on the 5th floor, in which case there is an elevator from the ground floor to the fifth, but there's no elevator service to the first floor. There is exactly one room with a sea view, and it is on the 5th floor; apparently it books waaaaaay in advance. My room looked onto the street, so no real view at all, some street noise but not bad at all with the glass doors to my balcony closed and air con on. The room was large and clean, super hard bed and cement slab of pillows, as is often the case in Italy. Breakfast pleasant but nothing special at all. The free hotel parking is a mile uphill from the hotel in a small steep dirt lot near the train station. I went to the parking authority office and paid 18 euros per day for parking on the sea front, right near the hotel. Easy access to the Cinque Terre trains.

Room Tip: A room near the reception desk means that the families with enthusiastic kids will run shouting past...

Lovely stay for price. Simple, clean, ok breakfast. Ask for the 5th floor, little balcony, lovely view. Internet works well. Better than staying in one of the 5 Villages. Great hiking. It is a bit of a hike as well from the train station. Great eats around town foe good prices.

Stayed here for 5 nights with a group of elderly friends. Wonderful location - central and right by the beach. Rooms not overly large and limited drawer storage, but it was ok for us (and I don't travel light) and completely compensated by the balcony with a sea view. Small ensuite, but everything spotlessly clean, with fresh towels daily. Good continental breakfast selection. Exceptionally friendly and helpful reception staff who booked restaurants for us (necessary for the better ones in peak season) although there are plenty around where you wouldn't need to. Hotel is difficult to find initially as the reception is on the first floor and the entrance is easy to miss. Do not be put off by this. There is no parking by the hotel but it is possible to unload and reception are very happy to help with baggage. There was a lift, but it doesn't stop at reception so there are a few steps and this, together with the lack of shelves/hooks in the ensuite are the only downsides of this excellent hotel. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view on the 2nd floor or above

Stayed here for 5 nights (for the second time) - the hotel was as good as ever. Across the road from the beach, near excellent restaurants, very clean rooms, small balcony, etc. The service is first class - they arranged a taxi to meet us at the railway station (which waited for nearly an hour as the train was late) and to take us back (at no cost) and also have some free bikes for guests to use (there's a great cycle to Bonnasolia and beyond through old railway tunnels to rocky coves that are great for swimming). Levanto is a lovely town to stay a few days - much quieter than the Cinque Terre but only a few minutes away by train (or a more leisurely boat ride). Cannot recommend the hotel highly enough.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front will have a view of the sea (over the elevated roadway) but are likely to be...

My husband and I just came back from 4 days in Levanto, 3 nights at the Hotel Garden - and we still can't believe how lucky we were to get a room in this wonderful hotel!
- right across from the beach. You're basically 3 minutes away from awesome snorkeling!
- free & safe hotel parking about 10 (maybe 15 if you have luggage) minutes away
- good breakfast with delicious cappuccinos
- very comfortable and clean room & bed with all needed amenities (even with the A/C!)
- kind, polite & helpful staff with useful "local" tips
- bikes available for free (there's a really cool bike path along the coast)
- free wifi
- yummy & affordable restaurant + many gelaterias right next to it, yum!
- the train station to go to Cinque Terre is 10 minutes away but the cool thing is that you do not hear the trains at all from your room
- we were allowed to check-out a little later than we were supposed to (awesome! Thanks again!)
- they granted us a discount upon checking-out because we had booked a room for 3 but were only 2. Totally unexpected! This is awesome customer service!

It was truly one of the best hotels we ever stayed at.
A big Thank You to the staff for this wonderful stay.
We will be back soon :-)

Room Tip: We had room 112, it didn't have a sea view but a "garden" view and was very very quiet...

Just stayed in this Hotel the last 6 nights. Great Hotel, I had a premium room on the 5th floor. Breakfast was very good (for European standards). Reception is open till midnight, which sounds late for a small hotel but the township is still quite busy then. There are at least 4 bikes the hotel has for its guests to use at no cost....I rode to Bonnasolla for lunch one day....deeeelightful indeed! Rooms are clean each day, the cleaning girls do a fantastic job. Two laundrymats are within 200m of the hotel. Straight across from the beach....ideal to duck back from the beach for an afternoon sleep!

Reception staff speak English quite well.

I travel for work most weeks.......this hotel is easily the best option in Levanto. Ciao.

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms have water views but during summer the township is a buzz until at least 1am each ni...
