“Beautiful Cats & Charming Room”
Reviewed 10 November 2013 via mobile

What a fun little place to stay! Beppe, his wife Giovanna and daughter Katia were most gracious! Even their 8 beautiful cats (outdoors) were friendly to us! ... Our room (Rosa Tea) was clean and cozy. The shower in the bathroom was fit for a Hobbit. (Actually it adjusted for us normal size folks.) The WiFi worked well. The breakfast was fruit, juice & milk and a few things they dropped off to us each morning. Their is a little kitchen that worked well with items from the local Conad grocery store where we cooked our own meal. ... This is a fun town to visit and the charming hospitality of our hosts made it all the better!

Nice trulli, complete and beautifully decorated.
Breakfast was non-existant, just biscuits and prepacked croissants. So it is more an appartment than b&b.
Besides that it is a nice place to visit Alberobello.

We stayed in the Sulphurea-- sleeps 2 in the loft, atmosperic accomodation, private patio & larger patio in the gardens. Surrounded by olive trees & roses. Shaded parking. 2-5 min drive to the Trulli. 2-5 min drive to supermarkets. Beppe & family most warm welcoming, concerned for a memorable stay, & anxious for feedback to improve.

When we pulled up to this charming place, my husband couldn't believe his eyes, we were staying in a real Trulli home. The grounds are also beautiful and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. We had been sailing in Croatia for 2 weeks before taking the ferry to Italy and so had a lot of laundry. The unit even had a washing machine I could use and I was able to hang my laundry to dry outside. It was a little way out of town between Alberobello and Locorotondo but I couldn't recommend it more highly. My only negative is that the breakfast is basically pre-packaged food that was not great, but since we had a kitchen with refrigerator I was able to purchase some additional food to supplement the breakfast.

Room Tip: Choose "pink tea" if you have the chance

La Rosa dei Truilli is everything you see and read on this website. One thing I will say, the photos do not do it justice. After a very busy visit with some family in Calabria, we arrived in paradise . . . the B&B could not have been a more perfect spot to rest and relax. Our parents were traveling with us and it was just what they needed. The grounds are beautiful. The patio is a perfect place for relaxing, eating, playing cards and just hanging out. We were traveling in June so the weather was good. Our children (ages 11, 13 and 15) kept occupied, playing with the cats and kicking around a soccer ball, getting a reprieve from my reading aloud from the tourist books.

The trulli themselves were as clean and comfortable as the reviews say, and did include every amenity you could need. One of the best family ratings you can receive from our children is the shower rating . . this place gets an "excellent" TIMES THREE! High pressure with hot water - as Americans traveling in Italy, that is an important rating.

Beppe and his family were gracious hosts, being sure that you had everything. They were happy to offer tourist suggestions, as well as directions. (Under full disclosure . . my inlaws speak Italian . . but I could imagine Beppe being just as helpful using books, drawings and motions.)

Alberobello was very quaint, clean and friendly. We drove into town and were able to find parking easily on the streets near the train station. It is true what they say about the souvenier shops - the owners lure you in with free tastings and views, but I never once felt any pressure to buy anything. We were lucky enough to be there for the San Antonio festival - what a truly Italian experience.

From the B&B, upon Beppe's suggestion, we took a day trip to Matera. It was about an hour drive on scenic roads and well worth the trip.

I have to admit, when we pulled up to the B&B, we were disappointed that we couldn't walk into town. But that turned out to be the favorite part of our stay. What a wonderful visit!

Room Tip: Rosa Soraya: 2 bedrooms each with a double bed. Walk through one bedroom to get into the other. S...

La Rosa dei Trulli is the most charming and relaxing place you can think of, with an attention to details that makes you feel as you were part of a fairy tale. Yes, it is well furnished and clean, the kitchen and bathroom are modern and well-ecquipped, the rooms are welcoming and the garden is well-planned and well-kept. But the most wonderful thing about this place is the family that welcomes you. Always helpful, always meeting your needs and trully pleasant and warm people. Do follow their recommendations for restaurants and places to visit, you won't regret it.
This place is so much more than simply spending a night in a trullo!

The managers and staff of five-star hotels, charging many multiples more for their rooms, should take lessons from Beppe, Giovanna and their daughter Katya. They constantly asked what they could do to make our stay better, when in fact they done everything we could have asked. Their charm and desire to please never wavered, and we felt as if we had made new friends. Our room was spotless. Our trullo was a novel adventure, even if such structures are fast becoming a tourist fixture. In the bathroom and kitchen, hot water came instantly and at full pressure. The terrace was a perfect place to relax and enjoy their eight cats. Alberobello was a perfect base for exploring hill towns such as Locorotondo, Putignano, Noci, Cisternino, and Ostuni. Lecce was less than two hours by car. If you like to cycle or run, the roads behind the Rosa were perfect, even if the lack of shoulder was a bit daunting at times. We cannot exaggerate how impressed we were. We hope to return.
