“We really enjoyed the whole stay”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

The place was nice for relaxing in the sun, but also a good station for trips. From the swimming pool you can have an amazing view of the toscane valley. Firenze is really close but the apartment was so comfortable than we spend more time in the village rather than in the city.

We stayed 4 weeks in this beautiful place near Florence, and I must say it was terrific. The property is actually a large villa with different buildings attached, that has been split in different 'apartments', each with their own name. Ours was called 'patio' and indeed we had our own private terrace. The rooms and kitchen were just fine. The surrounding gardens and landscape are amazing. And our daughter just loved playing with the cats and feeding the chickens. We also enjoyed the large pool.
We used the villa as our base in Tuscany for several outings to the surrounding cities. All are well within reach: Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Prato, Arezzo and of course Florence. And returning to the villa always felt like coming home. Especially because of the warmth and hospitality of Enrico, the owner of the villa. That was what really stood out for us and we will surely miss him!

  • Liked — hospitality of the owner
  • Disliked — it was a pity that there were no other guests with young children

Our family stayed here for 10 nights in July. The Poggio is positioned up in the hills above Florence & has exceedingly beautiful views across the Arno valley. The apartment was spacious for our party of 5 &, although quite basic, was equiped with all that we required. The apartment has a private patio area which was lovely for taking breakfast on each morning. The shared infinity swimming pool was fabulous (surrounded by richly scented Lavender bushes) & never too busy. The extensive grounds are well tended by Lucca & his sons & all communal areas are very clean & tidy. Othello, the resident donkey is adorable & we loved hearing him calling out each morning - making a welcome change from the predictable cock crowing!
All in all we were all very pleased with our stay & found Lucca & his family most welcoming & helpful.

  • Liked — The situation & swimming pool
  • Disliked — The kettle!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Villa-Farm "Poggio Tre Lune" is unique in its concept and type. The initial structure dates back to 15th century and has had several functional improvements, including the Tower, that was under development until the 20th century. Even though the Villa is close to Florence, it is surrounded by 47 hectares of land and it is very close to one of the most important Outlet Centres in Europe. The Villa is only 17km away from Florence and 3.2 Km from the railway station which connects it with Florence and others historical cities, and less than 9 km from the A1 highway ("Autostrada del Sole") , Incisa Valdarno exit. The several careful improvements made to the buildings, carried out so as to improve living comfort, and the practice of the Farm's daily activities, have resulted in an architectural structure which perfectly fits the surrounding landscape, being well defined and functional because it is composed of several different buildings that are nicely integrated and independent, surrounded by a large garden with trees. ... more   less
