We stayed for one week with Simonetta in Lionforti da Vico. We stayed in Il Fico which was decorated in traditional Tuscany style. Since we brought our baby boy of 11 months we wanted a house/apartment with some space and a good kitchen. And we were not disappointed!

The place is pretty secluded in the hills between Siena and Florence. Luckily our TomTom navigator found it easily. The apartment had plenty space a comfortable baby bed and a good kitchen. Simonetta who is the owner made us delicious breakfast every morning. And she even borrowed us some toys and a baby bath for our boy to play with.

The apartment is built in a house together with 3 other apartments. But you would not notice this inside because of the traditional building with very thick walls. The beds are a little hard but that is commonplace in the south of Europe. We slept fine on them. It has a private garden and BBQ just for you. Besides that there is a medium sized pool (not heated) and garden. A horse, donkey, goat, dogs and cats make the idyllic scenery complete.

We had a lovely week and are definitely planning on coming back in the future!

A little gem, if you are after peace and quiet. We were pleasantly suprised staying here. Once you have found the place, which for the first time is a challenge you stumble across a stunning little rustic hamlet of about four or five houses with incredible views in the tuscan mountains. The sense of peace is all pervading. The room that we had was large with an equipped kitchenette and large ensuite all furnished in traditional country style as you would expect. Simonetta was most helpful and charming and the brekfast was ample with goose eggs from the garden. I found this place far more attractive than the photos show which do not do it justice. Although we only stayed one night enroute, I'll definately be back.
