“Beautiful ride, great guide”
Reviewed 5 April 2012

Marco was able to customize our trip and was extremely friendly. It's a great way to view the beautiful countryside, but it's not an easy ride for those who aren't well trained - and we did the easy route. The bikes are in great condition and if biking is your passion - this trip is a must-do.

“Discovering Chianti - a great experience on the bike and worth the effort!”
Reviewed 7 February 2012

Exploring Chianti (near Greve) on the bike was a great experience. Marco was a wonderful guide and happy to customise our tour to suit our biking abilities. The countryside is not flat and there are some hills you need to be prepared for. Marco was happy to give us all the time we needed to conquer these hills and was patient and supportive. The bike ride was more enjoyable because Marco had a great depth of knowledge of the area. We made many stops near various historical attractions and learnt a lot about the region. We had lunch in the warm sun, using local produce supplied by Marco and that was enjoyable, sitting next to our bikes admiring the Chianti region's wonderful vista. The tour was for 3 hours but it was closer to 4 hours due to our slow biking but that did not bother Marco and we did not miss out on any sites. We chose not to visit the wineries as we thought that biking and wine was a not a good combination for us. In any case there was a cellar that contained many wines from the region that Marco recommended so we had our tasting after the bike ride. At the end of the trip Marco provided us with a small momento of the experience. Great day! Would recommend it to anyone with some interest in biking but you do need to have minimum fitness - Chianti means hills!

“Great old smal town!”
Reviewed 29 September 2011

I went to Greve while visiting the Chianti region. Interresting old town. The main square is nice with several restaurants and shops. We were there for the opening of the 41 Chianti classico wine festival. It was great!
If you buy for 10euros the wine glass, you can taste up to 10 chianti wines from classico, reserve and super tuscan! It gave us the oportunity to met people from around the world while testing some good wines! Do not miss it next year!

“Nice tour in beautiful surroundings - some flaws”
Reviewed 12 August 2011

We booked well in advance, and looked forward to the "Bike and Wine Tour in Chianti". With a cost of EUR 120 per person (without food/lunch), we had some expectations.

The tour was good - the biking was good on good bikes, and for a regular biker in fairly good shape, it was fun. Maybe not so fun for the not-so-trained bikers. Tuscany is a rolling landscape with long and somewhat steep hills, which requires some strength and stamina. However, we found it great.

Marco was a good and knowledgable guide, even if we sometimes struggled to fully follow the stories, maybe due to language incompabilities.

The dissapointment was the "wine" part of the "bike and wine" tour. We visited a couple of tasting places, but were completely left to ourselves. We expected to be treated as part of a group with some kind of special attention, but that was not the case.

All in all, however, it was a very good experience. We would recommend it, but be cognizant of the fact that the Tuscan landscape is rolling and be prepared to manage the winetasting tourself.

“Discovery Chianti you rock!!”
Reviewed 24 June 2011

I experienced the best tour bike ever in the Chianti area thanks to Discovery Chianti. I was able to see things I would have never seen without the help of a professional tour guide such as Marco Pacenti. He made my experience a memorable one and can't wait to go back to Greve again in 2012. Thank you Marco and I look forward to seeing you again soon!
