We did a bike tour last Thursday with Marco - we had a great time and the views were tremendous. Word to the wise -- it was pretty challenging physically and there was a lot of straight up and down hills. My sense is that Marco can tailor the ride, but the region is such that you can't completely eliminate the hills. But, he's very knowledgeable about the region, and very accomodating, so if a bike ride doesn't work, a walking tour may. He also recommended a place in Montefiore for our last dinner which was great - he knows the region very well.

This sleepy little Italian town seems a little dull at first. I have been here for three days and I must admit that it is a perfect get away. If you walk away from the square , you will discover that the restaurants surrounding the main square are less expensive and much more relaxed.

I found free wifi at S.Anna on the corner of the main rd and v. lelino falsettaci... (ask the information folks in the square). I am sitting here now in the garden enjoying a humble and yet authentic meal. The owners mother and husband run the place and they are not in a rush to see you leave.

Nice!

My girlfriend and I did a 1/2 day bike excursion with Marco. He had very high quality bikes, and brought us through some beautiful areas. Marco has a real passion for the area and for the environment, he was able to tell us about all the different flora and what the farmers used them for (food for silkworms, food for themselves, etc)

Marco grew up in the area and made us feel like we were getting an insider tour of the area, it was great and I would recommend it to anyone.

Marco was able to customize our trip and was extremely friendly. It's a great way to view the beautiful countryside, but it's not an easy ride for those who aren't well trained - and we did the easy route. The bikes are in great condition and if biking is your passion - this trip is a must-do.

Exploring Chianti (near Greve) on the bike was a great experience. Marco was a wonderful guide and happy to customise our tour to suit our biking abilities. The countryside is not flat and there are some hills you need to be prepared for. Marco was happy to give us all the time we needed to conquer these hills and was patient and supportive. The bike ride was more enjoyable because Marco had a great depth of knowledge of the area. We made many stops near various historical attractions and learnt a lot about the region. We had lunch in the warm sun, using local produce supplied by Marco and that was enjoyable, sitting next to our bikes admiring the Chianti region's wonderful vista. The tour was for 3 hours but it was closer to 4 hours due to our slow biking but that did not bother Marco and we did not miss out on any sites. We chose not to visit the wineries as we thought that biking and wine was a not a good combination for us. In any case there was a cellar that contained many wines from the region that Marco recommended so we had our tasting after the bike ride. At the end of the trip Marco provided us with a small momento of the experience. Great day! Would recommend it to anyone with some interest in biking but you do need to have minimum fitness - Chianti means hills!
