Description: .In 1729 Giovanni Battista Falorni founded Antica Macelleria Falorni in Greve in Chianti. After 279 years the eighth generation (represented by brothers Lorenzo and Stefano Falorni Bencistà) is still at work in a place where everything is unchanged, even the sign caught the first pictures in black and white. The passion for work and for the preservation of traditional products are handed down from father to son along with the secrets of working, which are essential forbest results. The secret is the quality of the raw material: the meat. The focus on local races for the Italian beef for the Cinta Senese pig and wild boar for the use of those present for millennia in the woods of Tuscany and Chianti in particular, has always been the basis for obtaining exclusive. As for flavor, nature has provided an abundance of Chianti uncommon: fennel, juniper, bay leaves, garlic, parsley, sage, rosemary, to name just the most used. The diversity has enabledthe creation of typical, fragrant and harmonious personality, made even more special by the addition of Chianti Classico wine in certain products such as sausages and salami typical grevigiano addition to conferring a flavor and aroma unique that can only enhance and strengthen the character of these products.

Amazing Greve store for cured meat lovers. High quality ham selections from all parts of the pig and wild boar galore from shelves to ceilings in every room. They also have a cheese cave and wine tasting room. Great to learn about cured meat names and tasting 101. Very tempting to buy but be aware that you can't bring cured meats back to the US. The place is also perfect for a lunch stop.

“Great place, very frutasting”
Reviewed 5 October 2013 via mobile

The place is very nice and well furnished. You can not buy a bottle of wine, only taste it from a machine that provides different wines. The idea is great. What is disturbing, though, is that the machine depicts a full glass, a half glass and an almost empty one. When you pours you get an almost empty glass for the most expensive price. I asked the helpfull girl at the counter, and she explained I would get 50 ml from that. It was smallest 50 ml I ever got.

“Excellent butcher shop in a beautiful town”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

We stopped in Greve as part of a Tuscany winery tour, and visited Antica Macelleria Falorni, at the tour guide's recommendation, to purchase some salami to take back home with us. The salame di cinghiale (wild boar salami) is incredible! If you're in the area I'd highly recommend making a stop in.
