“Great b&b - great out of town place to stay”
Reviewed 23 July 2013 via mobile

This was a great place to stop for a night when I visited recently with my wife and in-laws. The location out of town was great as it was quiet and afforded you stunning views. The road is a bit bumpy getting to the place but that won't deter me from returning! Nice pool and nice rooms. Breakfast was really nice too and the overall service we received was top draw! Would certainly recommend to anyone in the area - make sure you visit the Saturday market if you get a chance and visit the next village Panzano and hunt out Accademia del Buon Gusto for some wine tasting.

We have just had our 4th stay at Le Cetinelle (since 2007) and it is still the most magical and relaxing place we have ever been. The fact that it is located on a working farm some 4 Kms from Greve only enhances the experience. The breakfasts are traditional Tuscan breakfasts, and offer plenty of choice for us. We have also used the facilities to make lunches and light dinners there ourselves. Simonetta and Luca, the lovely cleaning lady and the new dog Dana are always totally welcoming, and make you feel part of the family. We are now working on getting back there Spring next year and can't wait to return. If you want to experience the real Tuscany, this is it!

Le Cetinelle is beautiful and the perfect tuscan getaway. Be sure to try the wine! The breakfast is delicious with plenty of american coffee. The grounds are wonderful and my son had a wonderful time running around and playing with dana (the puppy!). Simonetta was very nice and helpfull. We will try to make it back in the future.

It was my first experience of staying in agriculture B&B, so I was a little wary. But it ended up to be great experience, Simonetta welcomed us in her home, and we felt very comfortable. Rooms are basic and very clean. Views are spectacular! For the first time I saw olive trees, pomegranate trees, lots of different herbs. For someone who comes from a big urban city it was fantastic experience. Le Centinelle is a working farm that produces wine, honey and olive oil, and you can actually buy it right there.
It's a little difficult at first to get to Le Centinelle(it's located in a pretty secluded area), but we got used to serpentine road pretty quickly. I would stay here again.

Le Centielle is a wornderful small B&B located in the heart of the Chianti region of Tuscany. The B&B offers the ultimate lodging in a spectacular vineyard setting. The B&B owener was very hellful and courteous. We felt "at home" throughout our stay. A big extra benefit was the wine and olive oil produced from grapes and olives grown on the site. Very good breakfast.

The only parially-negative aspect is the access via a 4 km gravel road - although this can be an advanage in that the B&B's remote location contributes to the rural Tuscan experience.

Room Tip: We stayed in "tower room" which is located in the tower of the centuries old stone structu...

My wife and I have stayed at Le Cetinelle by ourselves, as well as with other couples that we have taken there, and we have always found Simonetta to be the a very charming and gracious hostess. She goes out of her way to make sure that we have all of the information we need regarding restaurants, local sites, etc.

The breakfast at this B & B is typical of most Agriturismo that we have stayed at, and the scenery is outstanding. We always visit in September during the wine festival, so we have never encountered any problems with air-conditioning. However, the person(s) who wrote the negative review either has not traveled extensively in Italy, didn't read the very informative website, or both. Le Cetinelle is usually full and difficult to book unless you do so well in advance, and there is a justifiable reason for this. It is a great place to stay.

This year was my 5th (or was it 6th?) year at Le Cetinelle. And I thought I was an "old" client until this year I met a family there who were spending their 12th summer there. That should speak for itself!
People often wonder why I keep going back to the same place every year but it´s hard to pass on the experience with all the vividness unless you´ve been there and seen it.
Le Cetinelle with its amazing hosts Simonetta and Luca is the place if you are looking for the true Tuscany. The 400-plus-year house with several rooms and two apartments is fantastic! Ok, it doesn´t have air-conditioning but if you keep the windows closed during daytime and open them in the night (no bugs, I promise!), it´s quite cool.
Unless you rent one of the two apartments, Simonetta and Luca will offer you delicious and very substantial by Italian terms breakfast. And if you feel like preparing light meals yourself during the course of the day, there is a well-equipped kitchen at your disposal.
Even more fantastic than all this are the numerous bigger and smaller hideaways in the graden, equipped with tables, chairs, hammocks and what not. Even though it sometimes seems that quite a number of visitor "inhabit" the house, they all seem to disappear into the garden as well as the poolside and become non-existent.
No need to mention, of course, that the poolside is THE place. I´m not sure you can find a more beautiful poolside anywhere - the roses, pear-trees, sheltered little corners and a breathtaking view as far as the eye can see (which is very far since it´s located on a hilltop) is indescribable. And even more so late in the evening when the sun goes down and Florence, 25 km away, turns on its lights.
A couple of visitors have complanied about the 4km ride on a dirt road to access Le Cetinelle. They probably haven´t realized that if they wanted a well-asphalted 4-line autobahn, they´d have to give up the scenery, the tranquility and sounds of the nature as well as vineyards and olive groves on both sides of the house.
In fact, I´m not sure I´m doing the right thing promoting Le Cetinelle on Tripadvisor since it probably means more visitors and less space for myself there :)

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool are cooler in summer
