We spent three nights of our honeymoon at Villa Bordoni and loved it! The service was fantastic and so helpful. The little restaurant was delicious and very romantic. The rooms were very large with beautiful bathrooms. The location is in the adorable little town of Greve in Chianti - don't be worried when you drive up the windy gravel road to the hotel, it's part of it's charm because you really are able to get away!

As the second phase of our 50th Wedding Anniversary travels to Europe, we spent two
great evenings at the Villa Bordoni. Although the villa is a bit off the beaten track from
Greve, the view from the small, unpaved road is spectacular. The Inn is an upgraded
castle, and the modernization of rooms and grounds meets all expectations. We enjoyed
a reasonably priced Junior Suite, and the views, grounds, and overall experience were a
highlight of our times in Venice, Almafi, and Roma.
We had booked dinner reservations our first evening of stay, but after the excellence of the
first evening's food, swiftly added our second night. For a small facility, the villa offers a
great dining experience. The two owners, from Scotland, have two other restaurants
in Florence, and the chef's creations at the Greve location are as good as the Florence
site. We found the owners to be most gracious, interested in our enjoyment, and very
willing to share info. We came away with a super recipe for Tiramisu.
We have stayed in a number of converted castles, B&B's, and Inns in Tuscany and Umbria.
The Villa Bordoni ranks at the top of the list of locations which combine quality of service,
location, and value for amounts spent. We have no reservations in recommending the Villa
for a short or longer stay. We did not try the cooking school due to time constraints, but if
we returned would do so.

My wife and I were fortunate to spend 4 wonderful nights at Villa Bordoni in August. We could not have been more pleased, and we were in a ground floor room with limited views. David and Cartherine and staff are wonderful and professional hosts, the dining room was terrific, the front desk is very helpful in making suggestions, and the location is simply awesome. One tip to getting there-rely on the website directions, not your GPS. Once there, you can use your GPS to home in on and enter, the Villa's coordinates. The road up is part of the experience, and the Villa's location and panoramic views are unbeatable. The entire experience was simply outstanding, a real highlight of our Italian holiday, and we highly recommend it, particularly for couples.

Room Tip: Book early, to have an upstairs room with a view.

My friend and I stayed 3 nights at the Villa Bordoni, and participated in David's "rustic" Tuscan cooking class. We thoroughly enjoyed the grounds, the town, the local driving itenerary planned for us by Ricardo, and being treated like princesses by charming Hugo. The cooking class not only resulted in one of the best meals we had in Italy, it was a ball!

We did have a little mix-up with not being able to have twin beds. I echo the recommendation to ask for an upstairs room. And the road to Bordoni does evoke Mr. Toads Wild Ride - but it is all part of the charm - and makes for great memories!

We stayed 5 wonderful nights at the Villa Bordoni - beautiful room with our own private outdoor sitting area with views of olive trees, hills and grape vines - what could be better? Ate dinner there everynight - Hugo was fantastic and goes above and beyond - we loved the food, service and very romantic dinner setting - our lighting was just candles....
Frenida and Catherine were lovely and they gave us wonderful driving itineraries where we found special villages and unexpected "jewels" such as special local restaurants, shops and views...can't wait to book our next visit - a very special place......

Room Tip: pick a room that is upstairs - not on the main floor

We stayed one night at Villa Bordoni. Room is nice and clean, charming location - you can see that the owners are doing a good job running the place. Great front desk and very helpfull. One thing that you should be aware is that the hotel is located on long dirt road which makes driving a bit tricky at night as there are no lights - I was surprised but it was OK.
For some reason there was green algy on the walls of the pool but the weather was so hot that we had to jump in! It was a good experience and I would recommend it to others. I hope the algea is gone now :)
