“Absolutely fabulous villa!”

What a fabulous place! We were a group of 8 (2 families) that stayed here for a week. We had so much fun!
The Villa is beautiful and every amenity is provided. The pool was wonderful since Italy is hot in June! The bus stop is a 10 minute walk from the Villla. The town of Greve was lovely. Just a great place! Go! Enjoy!

“Fabulous”

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Villa La Muracce and had a wonderful holiday. There were 8 of us altogether, 4 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of room. Both the villa and the grounds are beautiful and we would thoroughly recommend if you're looking to get away from it all. The pool is new and is shared with another villa but it didn't cause us any issues and the garden is plenty big enough for the two dwellings. It is a little off the beaten track so a car is essential as you are not within walking distance to shops and restaurants etc. Beautiful villa, beautiful grounds, beautiful surroundings, highly recommended.

“Charming villa in the Chianti hills”
Reviewed 20 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Our group of six women stayed in this villa for a week in late Sept/early October 2015, and it looked exactly like it did in the photos -- charming and welcoming. We had a wonderful time at the villa and appreciated the occasional assistance of the owner, Ania Leila. There were several tables and seating areas scattered around the villa - each one looking out onto another picturesque view of the property and the Chianti Hills. Two of the 5 bedrooms also had terraces from which you could view the morning mist over the hills, or the variegated light late in the day. An enormous living room area complete with grand piano and fireplace, a Tuscan kitchen that begged to be used, three modernized bathrooms, a lovely covered loggia that looked out on a flagstone patio and the hills beyond, acres of olive trees around the property -- it was everything we were looking for in a Tuscan villa. Free Wifi was available at the villa so we could keep in touch with home and do our travel planning. The villa had a few little quirks - e.g., you had to make sure that there weren't plugging in too many electronic appliances/devices at the same time as we had to reset the circuit breakers occasionally when this happened.
This villa dates back to around the 17th C. and is located approx. 10 km. outside Florence on the Via Chiantigiana (222) and it can be accessed by occasional regional buses that stop just 200 m. from the villa. As we had purposely chosen not to rent a car, this did mean reliance on buses that ran sporadically (or not at all on Sunday). It could also be a little frightening to walk the short distance on the highway that had almost no shoulder (something you wouldn't want to do at night). However, once we got familiar with the area and planned our forays to neighbouring towns like Greve in Chianti to buy groceries or Florence, it was doable. Great wineries around Greve (like Castello di Verrazano near Greti) can be reached by regional bus (with a long walk up the hill from the town), and we managed to attend a local grape festival in Impruneta. There's an above ground pool and table tennis table on the property (which we didn't have time to try out), but really what we most enjoyed was gazing at the lovely Tuscan landscape, having our glass of wine outside on the patio as the sun set, and drinking in the amazing views of the countryside. Staying at the villa was an experience that we'll never forget, but you have to remember that older properties are a little fragile with their quirks. There is a washing machine in the basement (although the Italian instructions were a little puzzling). The 5 bedrooms allow about 10 guests to be accommodated at the villa, so it's perfect for a group of friends or several couples. All in all, I would highly recommend staying here, but it would be a little more accessible with a car. A true Tuscan villa experience.
