This hotel is sort of fine with it's 4 stars, but only because of the service. A team of waiters in the restaurant were welcoming, friendly and easily worked, despite the large number of people and it is only because they were controlled by the Chief, through which we have received services, which we never had before and this attitude of the staff will be remembered for a long time and should be in all hotels regardless of their star. So if you want to stay in a 4-star hotel with 5 star service, Brioni Mare is exactly what you needed as long as they have that amazing team of stuff.

Everything on this hotel was alright. Average service, close to the beach and the hotel rooms was pretty nice. On the upper floor you had a great view of the riviera and there was a hot tub. You also had a fitness room on the top floor. The pool was not nice and it was very cold with birds in it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the 4th floor or above.

This hotel is about 27 km from the City of Venice. The area around the hotel is not attractive.

The design of the hotel is not good. The reception area is not on the ground floor, but a floor above. So one has to go up stairs with your luggage to check in. The rooms are very small, and so are the bathrooms. The rooms are also quite unattractive.

The restaurant's food is not very appetizing. The breakfast buffet is the minimum.

I would not go back to this hotel.

This was a nightmare experience. we so looked forward to a lovely holiday our first trip to italy. this hotel is never a four star, maybe at a push a two star no more. The weather was inclement (thats why there is a lot of water in venice) everything was damp the hotel would not put the radiator on in the bathroom, there was nowhere to dry the damp towels after showering. This hotel should be renamed the transit camp as guests mainly stay a short period whilst visiting venice then move on elsewhere. The staff suffer you in silence as the know you will be going eventually. This was an experience we could have done without and especially paying for the privalage. needless to say it will take a miracle before we tread on italian soil again.

I've just come back from this hotel last night and felt I had to write a review given the ones that are here I was slightly worried as to what it was going to be like.
I travelled to Venice with my son a day earlier and stayed a good hotel on the rialto and was so dissapointed that this hotel was a pleasant surprise. We were a group of thirty and 18 of them were 13yr old boys but the hotel was great. The rooms were clean and large with a lovely shower room and your own balcony. The beach was not even a minutes walk away and again clean lots of loungers on and a lovely little cafe/bar that was very reasonbly priced for hot and cold for and all drinks.
The reason I wanted to write this review was that whole experience was great for a family holiday for familys with children that wanted a little bit of freedom as it felt so safe.Opposite the hotel there was the most patience resturant when our boys (18 of them) arrived at a moments notice demanding pizza and they were all served and treated like adults and it was 5 euro's a head. Which left us in peace to ejoy a drink in the bar overlooking the pool.
I'm now looking to book back there again and take the whole family this time

I stayed at this hotel 2 nights only in May 2007. I did not select this hotel myself as I was traveling with a group and reservations were made for us. Not sure about the location and why they picked up this hotel as we were there to visit Venice and this hotel is not really close to Venice and quite frankly there is not much else to see there at all.

This hotel is located not too far from the beach; you just have to walk 5 minutes or so to get there. If the purpose of your trip is to relax and enjoy the beach it might be okay but the beach is ok but not fabulous I have seen better locations.

As for me given we were there only at night I guess it was OK but I would not have spent a week there. The personnel were courteous but not too helpful. We did have dinner there only one night and the food was ok but it was not fine cuisine and we were not served any specialities.

As for the room they were clean and rather large rooms but although you were requesting a room with see view you did not end up really having the view you were expecting because of the hotel orientation and his location.

Not sure if it is always the case but it was really quiet and the hotel was not fully booked. It gave me the impression that this hotel was accommodating more groups than individuals and when we were there we were probably only 2 groups as a result it creates a bizarre atmosphere.

Overall this hotel is OK but certainly not a 4 *

I read the 10/6 review just after we had booked the Brioni di Mare and was quite concerned, but I needn't have worried, in my opinion this hotel is justly rated as a 4 star.

I agree about the hotel's position, it is an ideal spot, quiet but close enough to both the beach and the main street. We did both the public bus and ferry journey and tour company tour of Venice, and although the tour company's is much dearer, you get the coach more or less door to door and are accompanied by a local guide who was absolutely full of information - our only quibble was each fact was given in both English and German, if the tours had been in English only we would have learned twice as much. The other advantage was being able to go on a gondola for 16 euros each, admittedly we had to share with another couple, but it was much cheaper than booking privately. The rep told us about the cheaper versions and she must have been the only rep we have had on a package holiday who wasn't pushing the trips - a refreshing change.

We were warned there were stairs up to the hotel, but I wouldn't recommend this holiday for anyone with mobility problems, it involves an awful lot of walking both in the resort and Venice, where there are numerous steps to climb.

The hotel pool was hardly used, the most people we saw around it was about half a dozen, probably because the beach is so near. There is no scrambling for sun loungers, there are more than enough for every guest on the private stretch of beach. We found it funny that the life guards go for lunch (as do all the Italians - the beach clears) for about two hours. The hot tub was working when we was there, but the same system where you have to collect the token from reception applies. As the sun terrace is next to the lift we didn't find that a problem. There is a small gym with equipment and a solarium in case the weather is bad - we didn't need it, the weather was glorious - we had about four thunderstorms, but most conveniently at night.

Our room was on the top floor and very comfortable and clean. My only quibble was the colour TV had multiple channels, but the only English Language one was CNN although the hotel literature states BBC is available.

I agree about the breakfast buffet, although the bowls were bigger when we went. The rep did tell us we could order what we wanted for breakfast and the kitchen would oblige, but I don't think anyone bothered. The lack of fruit was disappointing. We also ordered a packed lunch one day which was awful, two stale rolls with no butter filled with ham or cheese, a banana and apple and a bottle of water - most of it went in the bin.

It didn't bother us choosing our dinner 24 hours in advance as there were five different starter and main dishes. Some of the translations were very literal, one night we were offered Smooth Hound which turned out to be dog fish!! We didn't have the problem of being hurried through dinner at all. Most nights we were usually the last down for dinner and weren't rushed at all. I totally disagree with the first review we found the food at dinner excellent.

We found all the staff very friendly and polite, one of the receptionists was an absolute mine of local information and could reel off bus timetables at will. The Barman was a complete sweetie - we didn't use the bar during the day so I cannot comment on the daytime service.

There was no entertainment in the hotel at all, this suited us as we have had holidays where we have been kept awake by the in house entertainment. In fact one evening about six of us were sitting outside the bar on the verandah and the barman asked us to move inside for the sake of the other residents. The main street is two minutes away where there are numerous bars and clubs, the main squares also have some kind of free entertainment, whether organised or impromptu, most evenings.

The first week we were there the hotel was filled with mainly Italians, the second Russians, there are some Germans and other English, but I would say just 5% of the guests came from the UK. We found the staff very friendly and polite and the guests on the whole friendly. The hotel is of a high standard, they are towel mad though, the towels in the room are changed every morning and evening with plus a knock on the door to see if you want even more fresh towels!! The bed linen was changed every day and the beds turned down in the evening.

All in all we enjoyed Jesolo, but we would particularly recommend the Brion di Mare
