This place is right near the beach and the fish market. Some of what we ate was wonderful, some of it was mediocre. Our server tried very hard. Much was lost in translation, but he was lovely. It was rather pricey, but seafood is expensive everywhere.

great tourist location next to beach. Once inside cheap café feel was sat at the back away from the bulk of the diners and ignored. After 10 mins asked for menus which were bought over by a less than happy looking waiter. Went to ask for drinks to turn and find he has already walked off. Caught the attention of another waiter who waved an acknowledgment but walked off. After 20 mins of no drinks and no food order taken we left. Walked past 3 waiters just standing there none of whom attempted to stop us.

My grilled seabream was absolutely fresh and fine, though others in my party were a bit disappointed by the way the sardines were cooked. Generally, this is a large restaurant which has a number of areas, including a glassed-in terrace, where we ate. It's a bit hot in the summer, though probably very nice in winter. Service seemed a bit slow, possibly because we were so far away from the kitchen! Place is a bit scruffy and rambling and needs a bit of sprucing up. I think it lives on its reputation as the place next to the fish market. As a recent reviewer said, the Adega do Peixe over the road is a lot better. Will try to review it soon.

Attentive staff although didn't realise the bread, butter, cheese and olives brought to the table at the start were all to be paid for! I had delicious sea bass and husband had tasty steak with potatoes and veg. Big platefuls so try to avoid all the extras unless you are very hungry. Good wine menu and fruity jug of sangria washed down our meals beautifully!

Lovely view of the beach and lots of fresh fish on view. Monkfish stew we shared was lovely and there was a lot of it. Service was best I've come across in a long time. Bit pricey though.
