We went to the Aquashow park hotel Sept 2013 bed and breakfast for 2 weeks.
What a great family holiday. Two adults and two children, 3 years and 10 months of age. The age of the children was a little concerning prior to going what with it being a water park destination....but our little girl loves to swim and is a natural, already having her 25m badge before we went, so we gave it a go.
Hotel- I can understand what people say about some of the staff being a little miserable, but on the whole they were lovely. The staff at breakfast were very understanding and lovely with the kids. The breakfast was not always piping hot but the selection is fab. We had fresh fruit every morning, there was a good selection of bread and an espresso machine made with the hot water from the other machine made a lovely fresh coffee.....you could have what ever you wanted...full English, continental or a bit of both...great. ( no fresh juice.....?a little picky?).
If you want a beach holiday maybe this place is not for you. The shuttle bus (which is sometimes the one with no roof...fun!) is the one that picks up water park visitors. Explains why you have to be on it by 9am and return if I remember rightly about 4pm 4.30? We used to get the bus in the morning and if we wanted to come home earlier got a taxi back costing 8-10 euro...the hotel cabs tend to be maybe a euro or two more. We loved our days at the beach and by the marina. Hotel pool was great for a chill and there is a cute pirate play ground.
We arrived on a tues and got a taxi to the local supermarket (lidl) wed morning to get a few bits...Taxi 6 euros. Bought loads on offer there and after checking the receipt when back at hotel was charged full price for everything so double check. The taxi driver told us about a little market next to the supermarket held on wed mornings which we returned to the following week too for a little change.
Hotel room- The age of the children meant we were squeezed into one room which for me was the only down side. The rooms are a little small for 4 people, two single beds pushed together, a sofa type single bed and a travel cot! There is only a small wardrobe with limited hanging space so we had to improvise a little when unpacking...... but lets face it we didn't go to spend time in the room so it's not really that big a deal. The rooms are clean and staff friendly. The bathroom worked for us. We tend to use a shower for the kids at home and there was plenty of room in there to get them sorted. We took a wire to connect the computer to the internet as it's not wireless in the room and watched tv online when the kids were in bed asleep. The tv has limited English channels.
Hubby was very poorly and we needed to get the Dr out to see him...the hotel contacted him and he was with us within the hour costing 50 euro plus prescription costs.
There were two lovely restaurants next to the hotel ..... the main road is MAD.
Waterpark- this is where we spent our time... and what a lovely time it was. Loads for the kids to do, although if our little girl was a touch taller she'd have been able to go on a few more slides. The staff at the water park are lovely and with unlimited access you can't go wrong! I couldn
We went through jet2holidays and in my opinion it was a bargain for a 2 weeks break....last night I booked to go again and I can't wait....I mean we can't wait ;-) .......

Aquashow park hotel is a amazing hotel.Me and my children were schocked when we see the aquapark and theme park .It was very big with slides and all kind off attrations. My children fell love with it.The hotel is modern and beautifull. The minus is only the breakfasts and the evening shows. There is only a magician show at Saturday but it is really intresting and funny. Our room was violet our purple. It was big and clean. The aquashow staff was helpfull and nice. The location was perfect for us because we had got a car. Were was only 15 minutes to Vilamura were are some really good restaurants and shops. We were droving there at evenings it was excellent. There is also a fantastic restaurant near the hotel you can go there walking with family.
WE WILL BE BACK IN 2014<3<3<3WE LOVE AQUASHOW<3

Room Tip: Me and my family recommend purple room because is luxurious, big and very clean.

This was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in, the rooms were lovely, everything was so clean, the staff were lovely and always very helpful. We only had bed and breakfast, I think we would have been disappointed if we had gone all inclusive as there wasn't a huge selection of food at dinner time the one night we ate in the hotel. It was quite quiet though when we went in May and there weren't many tourists about the town either, perhaps things would be different in peak season. We didn't go to the waterpark as I was pregnant but it looked good. The only down side was the location - it was a bit out of the way, about 30minutes walk into town and the hotel shuttlebus into the town only went a few times a day so unless you hire a car you'll be getting taxis everywhere.

yes i am a 13 year old girl writing this!!
me, my family and best friend and our family friends came back from a two week stay at aquashow a few months ago in july (2013) and i must say, this was the BEST holiday i have ever been on!! our hotel room was stunning, clean, comfy and very spacious. we had a fridge in the room which was very handy. the cleaners where very kind and polite. every bit of the hotel was amazing! the pool at the hotel was a good size and was cleaned every other day. there was also a little kiddie pool which was around 15cm deep! the water park was sooo fun!!! it was very tidy, considering it was quite busy. if you like roller coasters well you will LOVE the roller coasters here... we had our auntie with us with a 4 year old, and we where worried if there weren't going to be any kiddie things, but we didn't need to be worried in the end, there was a little helicopter ride which was fun, and a few little play areas which was great!! he wouldn't come off them!:))
at night time there is awesome entertainment on every day for all ages, these include: different types of quizzes, karaoke, magic shows, pajama parties, sleep overs and more.. there is also a games room and a playstation which looked good, and a gym which was fab!
the buffet was yummy, but it was the same everyday, there was also a menu which is nice, but a limited selection, and no kids menu. also, the prices of the food and drink was a lot. (keep reading)
there wasn't many places to walk from aquashow apart from two restaurants across from each other that where both quite cheap. i would really recommend 'Os a Gostin hos' about a 3 min walk to the right.
when we go on holiday we love to walk around at night and go out, but here, we had to get a taxi to everywhere... but its worth it, Vilamoura is stunning, very posh, the marina is beautiful and the restaurants are delicious!-but quite expensive:/ Quarteira is a good place to get the bus to because it is a bit cheaper and there are a few supermarkets there which are VERY cheap. - at aquashow a 1ltr bottle of water is €3 and a little supermarket in Quarteira a 1ltr bottle of water is 20cent:O
there is one coach in the morning from aquashow, to Quarteira that takes you to the beach for free. it comes at 9:00am. another later bus would have been handy but there isnt. ask at the reception there for more information!! the beach is really good, if your like me and hate beaches this beach isn't like that... the waves are massive, and great to jump over!! the only thing is, is that you have to pay for a sun bed, but there is lots of space to put you towel on the sand though which is alright. another good thing about the beach is that across from it, is a cheap shop which you can get a bucket and spade from, lilos, food, drink, ice lollys and lots more!!
hope this helped for anyone who is going here!! me and my family had an amazing holiday here. i would definitely recommend this hotel for a family with children!!
i will definitely take my kids here when I'm older. x

My best friend and I have just returned after a one week B&B stay. What a beautiful hotel with absolutely wonderful friendly and helpful staff. The pools were brilliant and the waterpark was amazing. The hotel is a bit out of the way of Vilamoura Marina and we did have to get taxis to and from but.....we were on holiday...we didnt care!!!!! The food was absolutely lovely too. Definately going back next year......but for longer!!!!!!!!
