We went on holiday to this hotel with an open mind after reading the reviews. We were so pleasantly surprised. All but 1 barman were delightful people, helpful, found time to chat and were very attentive.(the 1 barman nicknamed 'the face ache' will not be there by now as the Manageress was getting rid) Our room was splendid, on the 10th floor with fabulous sea views, spacious with a double bed. There are 2 lifts and yes they are quite small but as there are 2, are never full. We stayed all-inclusive, not something we do but the deal was too good to refuse. Food was plentiful buffet style, regular breakfast food, lunch and dinner always had a fish dish and meat dish with the trimmings. This is a prime time to sample Portugese cooking at it's best. Why go to The Algarve to find a McDonalds? - Save your air fare and stay at home if that's what you're after. The 2 girls in the Restaurant and Andre the Barman always made sure that the guests wanted for nothing. The beaches are the best maintained beaches we've ever experienced and we are very well travelled people. The resort was quiet but the recession plays a massive part in this as visitor numbers have fallen to Portugal.

6 of us stayed here 3rd week of April and found the staff to be very accommodating and polite all except one barman who was quite rude and grumpy but that was only on a few nights but it didn't put us off our stay. They is a lovely young man andre who is always smiling and polite and always had a bit of banter with us and reccommended a lovely hotel 1 night. We stayed all inclusive and for what we paid couldn't complain food was basic but we had enough that would keep us happy. There was no entertainment but was quite happy to have our own craic with the other holiday makers staying in the hotel, we had a singsong in bar and found a lot of karaoke bars during the week that a good few of us went too and enjoyed. Our room was on the 8th floor corner room good size and beautiful views from the balcony. Lift was small and I was on crutches so seemed smaller but I didn't care bout size. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and walked to nearby villamoura and went on a few boat trips. Quarteira is a very quiet resort with not much happening but maybe down to the time of year but it allows you to go out and look around you. There is a market on a wed and sat and not too dear by taxi but watch ur bags. Bus down road takes you to alberfeira and you can do boat trips from villamoura. I rented a tricycle as I needed a form of transport to get round with my crutches, my husband and friends pushed me and it was well worth the money. Weather was great made it and we met some lovely people in hotel who will enjoyed spending a rowdy week with so all in all a gt time was had by all :)

Only went to this hotel for 3 nights as a short break with Jet2 holidays. The weather during our stay was cold and at times very wet , but this is something we cannot blame on the hotel or the resort of Quarteira the rest of which i would certainly blame on this poor standard hotel.

We arrived at 11.30am and were told to return back to the reception at 2pm as our room was not ready and 2pm was the check-in time , did not have a big problem with this although if you are booking at package with Jet2 and you are up at 3.30am in the morning to get there they should tell you that you will not get into your room on arrival. My main problem was the manor of the receptionist who checked us in with no smile on his face and spoke to us as if we should not have been there and we were keeping him from something more exciting to do. (Having spent 4 days in Quarterira can,t think what he would find exciting to do)

When we got to our room we found it clean if not a bit small with a very clean and tidy bathroom , but the room was the good bit about this hotel . Not expecting to much from a 3 star hotel , but a bit more than this place has to offer. Although the weather was not good even if it had been hot and sunny outside the pool area and surrounding would not tempt to hang about , it was small area unclean looking and surrounded by building that would not look out of place in Beruit.

We were only booked on a bed and breakfast basis and that was bad enough the hot food looked terrible and the taste did not let it down. There was one member of staff who seemed to be working every morning who was pleasant and always smiling the reason i mention this as she was the only pleasant menber of staff i came across , i think a special mention also to the young barman who really did stand out as the worst member staff not an easy achievement with such competition. There was even one night i asked for a small bottle of water and then had to talk him round to giving me a glass to put it in and when i asked for ice for the water i thought he was going to have a breakdown. Maybe it was because i was not all-inclusive and he had to deal with money.

This is the first time i have commented on any of our holidays or short breaks which we take yearly , but i would not return to this hotel or the resort of Quarteira. I have read some reports on what good value for money this hotel is. I can not go along with this at all , and beleive me i was not expecting to much from the 3 star rating. The only plus point for us was the other people we spoke to said we were lucky we were not all-inclusive.

Just got back from a 3 night stay here and I have to say we were a little sceptical after seeing some of the previous reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised. We booked a last minute break to celebrate our wedding anniversary and got a fantastic deal thru easy jet, we stayed all inclusive. The hotel Is in a fabulous location just 2 minutes from the beach. It is a 45 minute walk along the prom or beach to villamoura which is well worth a visit with its beautiful marina.
The hotel itself was clean all the staff very pleasant and rooms were cleaned each day we were there. Food although was not cordon bleu but was certainly edible Nd plenty of it. What people need to realise this is a 3 star hotel if you want fantastic food etc pay twice as much and book a 4 star. I would say it is not really a place to go with children unless you wanna spend every day on the beach as there is not much to do for them, but as a weekend getaway for adults on a budget I can recommend this hotel

Just retuned from a five night stay.We were bed and breakfast board,so was not bothered when the all inclusive ended at 22:00.
Breakfast was edible but don't expect miracles, it Is a cheap three star hotel. We did not eat any other meals in the hotel.
No entertainment in the hotel, twenty minute walk to Vilamura with bars, restaurants and entertainment.
Thirty minute bus ride to Albefura, eight euro fifty return.
Turn left out of the hotel, walk towards the bus station, past the red hotel on the left. Down a side street on the left you'll find Dartagnons, good breakfast and "John Smiths". Turn right out of the hotel,a few blocks on the right is the Irish bar "Guinness" on draught.
The lifts are small and seem to fail regular. One member of the bar staff is ignorant and
abrupt,to a point of anoyment.
The beach and front is clean and modern with bars and restaurants. €10 for two sun beds for the day, some good weather spoilt by the cold wind.
