“Great Find!”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

Don't be put of with first impression that this is a simple snack bar. Great locally caught seafood and clearly a favourite with the locals - booking a must. It was fantastic to experience a gem off the beaten tourist map and enjoy great food at very reasonable prices.

“An absolute gem of a place!”
Reviewed 22 February 2014

What can I say? Visited Quarteira in low season and people were queuing out of the door to get in! Authentic, rustic, fresh food cooked to perfection! Highly recommended! Ask for UK menu if not Portuguese, fantástico!

“Don't be misled by "snack bar" - the food is special!”
Reviewed 15 August 2013

Delighted to find this place via tripadvisor on Sunday 28th July 2013. We walked here from our apartment on the east side of Quarteira, so we passed scores of eating places, but it was worth it. In a quiet back street near another superb (but quite different) eaterie, La Cabane, we could hear the buzz 200 metres before we could see the place! As luck would have it we bagged the last roadside table at around 7.15pm (most were locals eating inside) and enjoyed great service, delicious fish, clams, snails, rice and a terrific and very reasonably priced bottle of Portuguese (Alentejo) wine recommended by our charming waitress.
The total cost of 70 euros included beers and bottled water and represented excellent value considering the quality of food and drink. Don't miss it. But don't go Tuesday's, it's closed.

“What a find!! If you love damn good fish then go here!!!”
Reviewed 9 July 2013 via mobile

Visited Bar Tico Tico on the 8th July 2013.. if you love real sea food then here's the place to go..
I had the best meal of our 8 day long stay at Vilamoura and it was less than half the price of the restaurants around and near to the marina.
another bonus.. its is the old sector of Quartiera, not the highly polished holiday envioronment of Vilamoura (although there is nothing wrong with Vilamoura - its also great).
Fish and shellfish available is based on what comes in the day, all dispayed in a large fridge and cokked in an open kitchen next to the bar..
we had the octopus salad (A*), tomoato slad (A*), the cockles (not the pickeled stuff in blighty but the small clams).. fantastic, Fried Prawns, out of this world and the fish of the day.. 8 small fried fish.. any fresher and they would be jumping in the sea..
great and welcoming service. this plus 2 beers and 2 waters - $43 all in, including the Crouveat..
If you want a real piece of top qquality portugese food then go hear.. don't be put off by the fact its in a small street in the back of Quartiera..
