“Great cheap hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2011

Stayed there for a few nights recently, what a great find. On arrival the staff were very helpful and the room was very clean and modern. Being out of the summer season the pool was unheated and uncleaned, but swimming was still possible. Breakfast was typically continental - bread, cheese, ham, yoghurts and cereal. The free wifi was handy. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the beach, and around 5 minutes walk to the nearest supermarket. When leaving we asked for a taxi to the airport and were offered one for €33. We requested he just called us a taxi and we go on the meter and it only cost €21. I don't think they're trying to rip you off - just that maybe they've not adjusted their prices yet.

Room Tip: Don't take their taxi voucher to the airport.

i have just come back from my first solo holiday and i was delighted that i had picked this hotel. From the minute i entered the hotel i got that feeling of warmth and friendliness from the staff. My room was nice and ample for my needs.Cleaners came everyday .Breakfast was lovely ,The waiters were most attentive and corteous at all times. There is a small pool where i spent my mornings relaxing and reading ,In the afternoon i would head for walks ,the beach is only ten minutes walk from the Zodiaco , the promenade to the marina in vilamoura is well worth walking and of course there are beach bars on route if you fancy stopping for a super bock only €1 a glass. Wine was also very cheap and the portaguese red is lovely. Although there is no entertainment at the hotel ,i met lots of people and the criac was good. The bar staff Lee and Louis kept us entertained.Taxi to Vilamoura is about €5 where there is plenty of night life. The gypsy Market is a short walk from the hotel on a Wednesday .lots of bargains there. I will definetly be going back to the Zodiaco

Looking for a cheap week away but don't want to be worrying about it being a total dive?
Stay Here!!! I have to admit the value for money was so good we where a bit dubious about Hotel Zodiaco. When we arrived in the darkness and saw the cheesy flashing neon sigh for Hotel Zodaco on the horizon we started to worry!!!......
We couldn't have been further from the truth. The Hotel is clean, well appointed, the staff are; seriously, fantastic. All spoke excellent english and gave us some excellent tips of where to go to avoid the usual tourist crap and fodder.
The Room was a great size, air conditioned, looked newly decorated & had a big clean bathroom with air con also. A TV and the option of renting a fridge, windows had those great shop shutter things so no chance of Mozzies at night when I normally get eaten alive.
Breakfast included, georgious portuguese breads, cheese hams etc. Again staff lovely and so helpful, even down to telling us Irish and English which tea bags to use!!!
There is a good size pool out the back with beds etc and it is nice and quiet. However if you have kids the pool is not policed, so one of you would have to be keeping an eye.
I would deffo recommend this Hotel, they where so nice I would wan't to give them business again myself. I reckon for a couple of 100 Euro more elsewhere you really couldn't do much better than here so keep the extra few quid for your holiday and stay @ Zodiaco : )

Just a nice hotel with all you could need. Clean and tidy, nice pool area. Typical three star hotel but I would say close to four stars in some ways. Quateria is lovely as well and perfect for a quiet holiday, especially at this time of the year. I would STRONGLY recommend at stay at the Zodiaco Hotel if you're looking for somewhere chilled to stay. It's not right on the beach but it's a 5 minute walk to the main town centre and beach and nice to be away from it all. Don't expect a party hotel but it was quiet and perfect for what I wanted.
Don't forget the Gypsy market on Wednesdays about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

after looking at many online reviews,we decided on this hotel,we were pleased with the location, only 10 mins from the beach, although the hotel surrounding area is a bit of a building site, staff were very helpful, and eager to please, rooms were basic but very clean,we have no complaints at all regarding the cleanliness, breakfast was typical foreign buffet type, but we did eat there every morning, pool area was basic, but ideal for sunbathing at,and pool was big enough for a wee cooling off dip.i would highly recommend this hotel, although if your looking for some thing livelier,i would suggest a hotel closer to the beach.

We booked this holiday last minute and have to say that the hotel was pleasant. The hotel and rooms were kept exceptionally clean and beds made on a daily basis. The staff were delightful, always helpful. The hotel is quite a walk away from the beach, say ten minutes and the local supermarket some five minutes. The cabs are excellent and very reasonable. Being only B&B have to say that breakfasts were very monotonous, rolls, cheese, ham, cereal every day and no hot food choice. We did have dinner in the hotel and it was excellentt, nice choice and very tasty. So apart from that it was a lovely holiday. Unfortunately the only complaint I have is that the rooms had no balconies, so drying your towels was a bit of a problem, but hey ho,... it was lovely and the weather was just brilliiant. Would recommend it and have a good time.

Booked this hotel for a trip away on my own for a week - although in the end my friend came too for the first few days. And I/we had a great time! The hotel is small, very clean and incredibly friendly - in fact I can't praise the staff enough. The rooms, public areas and pool areas were comprehensively cleaned every day. Reception staff couldn't do enough to help, restaurant staff were friendly and efficient and bar staff second to none! A special mention to Marco, a brilliant, knowledgeable and professional receptionist and, of course, the wonderful Leandro 'barman extraordinaire' who makes the best cocktails in the Algarve (or so he'll tell anyone who listens!) and is full of wit, humour and local knowledge.
The hotel could perhaps benefit from a little modernising, especially the rooms and as is common with 'buffet style' hotel meals the food could be a little uninspiring at times (although anything individually prepared was always excellent) but these are only small observations.
All in all a great week, with great people in a great hotel. Thanks for everything. With lots of love, Louise rm 108
