We've just came back from a 5 nights break to Portugal. Praia Sol is a small, fairly new modern Hotel and our first impression has we arrived was a bit cold, there is only few staff working there going back and forward from reception to the Restaurant. It is not too far from the beach and there is a back gate but sometimes you have to wait for someone to open it and that takes you to the main attractions of the Marina where you can find lots of bars, Restaurants on the offer all serving different food, from fish to Indian, chinese, pizza etc...
The rooms are a good size, clean with TV, AC and they change the bedding, towels on regular basis. Food wise for breakfast they have a buffet of Scrambled eggs, beans, sausage, ham, tomatoes, fruit salad with breads, toasts, jam, coffee and juice and in the evening there is a set menu which consist of Soup and Salad as a starter, Fish or Meat dish for mains and Cake or fruit for dessert and for half board and the price it is what it is.
The swimming pool is great with plenty sun beds and tables but I agree with one of the review it would have been better with a bit of music and maybe an outside bar but you can order snacks and drinks throughout the day from the hotel menu.
Overall we really enjoyed staying there and find the staff friendly especially the barman who made great cocktails and was very charming.
Dont get me wrong this is a good hotel for what it is if you go for a cheap package holiday don't expect a 5 stars standards when it is not.

Took my daughter to the hotel for 4 nights, she's 21 and i have lost count..The hotel is lovely and relaxing with a nice pool and garden..It was everything we needed for a short relaxing break..My youngest daughter has now booked in for 5 days in August on my recomendation..The staff are very helpful and polite, i normally stay in hotel Gale in Vilamoura but this hotel is much nicer and for the price you cant go wrong..

It;s 3 star not 8 star and yes the path from the back gate looks a bit dodgy but that apart tjhis is just excellent. Super friendly helpful staff , decent rooms with good air con , nice pool and a decent breakfast. LOcation is exceelnt 300 yardss from tyhe beach and right between Vilamouyra and Quarteiera - thoroughly recommended.

We have just come back from staying at the Hotel Praia Sol, and we would stay there again. The room was a good size and clean and the staff were really helpful and friendly.

The hotel is also in an excellent location, 30 minutes from the airport, less than a 10 min walk to the beach and the hotel sits between Quarteira and Valimoura with very easy access to both.

The food might not have been the best, but it was more than adequate and there are hundreds of different eateries surrounding it.

For the price this was an excellent hotel and I would highly recommend it.

I dont normally write reviews but it has to be said the hotel was let down by the poor quality of food. If you like sausage your in for a treat because thats what you get every morning. Sausage, scrambled egg and beans never any bacon. The evening meal was also poor with a set menue which had two choices generally fish or meat. The exciting part was what it came with because you never knew. The salad to start was always the same but with a different theme. I tried the soup for a change but wish I hadnt as what seemed like a bowl of hot water turned up with some diced onion in it. If you didnt want the main meal that was on offer the alternative was salad and chips. The wife looked like a chip when we returned. Dont get me wrong, the room was clean and the service was OK but if you want a better choice McDonalds is through the back gate and 400 meters on the right. Also a bit of background music would have been nice around the pool as most of the time it was like a morgue. Hope this helps
