We first visited Praia Sol in 2009 having stayed at Dom Pedro Golf the year before. We returned in 2010 and after 2 years in Spain we returned in 2013. We are a party of 8 golfers in our 50's who like a bit of peace & quiet mixed with a bit of 'fun' and this is the place for us. Having stayed in larger more 'up market' hotels on a number of occassions we believe this is a much better option. It is quieter, more friendly, clean and not too far from the centre of Vilamoura. It is situated behind Dom Pedro golf but with no direct road access although there is a lane which gets you too the bars etc in less than 5 minutes plus you can visit the bars in Quarteira very easily. We go for a B&B option and whilst not the most extensive menu it covers every option. The bar area is fine and drinks not overpriced. Rooms are spacious, clean and all have a balcony. Being only around 30 rooms on 2 floors you dont have the usual lift fight in the morning. There is a good outside area with a nice pool and with the exception of one day we had no problem getting a sun bed. The hotel provides transfer to all golf courses within the Vilamoura area.
