If you're into this type of thing then you'll enjoy this. Very cheap but very interesting tour led by a serving base member.

“A Norfolk Landmark”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

We visited this base and saw the aircraft carrier Dwight Eisenhower at the dock at Sewells Point. Impressive! There is a pier and seawall nearby where people go fishing. It is right on the Chesapeake Bay and you can see the Hampton Roads bridge from here. A wildlife sanctuary is also found here. The base is large and the NEX is very nice.

“We did a bus tour”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

The bus tour was 45mins, and seemed like 10 minutes. I found it interesting. Took plenty of photos and thought the tour guide was very knowledgeable.

“The Largest Naval Base in the World”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

I was station here for 10 years, and untill I stop working there it was when I realize how big and Awesome this base was. The large amount of different ships station here and the subs are incredible, the green spaces are well mantain, and the Galey is world class, it will be a great experince to take the family to eat at the Mess Hall, prices are dirt sheap. (plus I was a cook there for 2 years) I have to promote my people.
