Staying at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside, the Waterside District is able to be seen directly from my room which peeked my curiousity. From the outside it looks like mini Baltimore Inner Harbor with restaurants, outdoor bars and activities. However, it becomes quickly evident this is a large drinking building. There are no shops in the building. The facility is very nice and a great place to watch sports. There is a clear lack of direction for the facility though. While watching the CAPS win Stanley Cup on the large video screen, no one ever came by the table. We were sitting at a common table in the great room which comes with no server or anyone to remove trash and empty bottles from the table. While the concept is interesting, someone needs to be available to clean tables and remove trash.

Waterside was incredible when it first opened and then it fell and bottomed out. The new Waterside District is back. It may not have as many amenities and eateries as the original but it has fine offerings. Give it another chance

Nicely done! Not really unique! A little pricey.
It's all new. Some of the venues seem over priced. It's all clean. OK to see for maybe having beers with friends.

From what we could tell, the Waterside District consisted of a couple of parks, a walking path, a building with different dining/drinking options, and the dock for the ferry. It was all nicely done, but we were there early in the morning when there wasn't much of a crowd. The restaurant section had some mammoth television screens and looked like a great place to watch sports.
