The sight of the battleship in downtown Norfolk is amazing. You are driving through the city and then all of a sudden at the end of a side street you see this amazing sight. The battleship is attached to Nauticus. It was $50 for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) and well worth it. Nauticus is filled with amazing exhibits about Norfolk and its establishment. It has everything from the beginning of the Navy to pioneer settlers to today's shipping that works within the city. You will need at least 90-120 minutes to see the displays in Nauticus as well as the 3D movies that are offered (and part of your entry ticket). The USS Wisconsin was amazing. This battleship saw action in Korea, WWII, and even The Persian Gulf. The boat allows you entry to many of the ships rooms, deck, and working areas. You would need at least an hour just to see the ship. We did not leave near enough time for the battleship. This is not a part of a day in Norfolk, to see this properly you will need several hours. There are also all sorts of hands on activities as well as sea-life to learn about.

This is a must do for anyone that has a passion for the seas and historical military vessels. This ship is extremely well maintained and really gives you a solid perspective of the importance that military ships play in the protection of the U.S. Highly recommend seeing this ship if your in the area.

One of the more unique attractions is the USS Wisconsin (BB-64) which is moored in downtown Norfolk at Nauticus. Originally only the main deck was open to visitors (as if that is not impressive enough) now many spaces inside are now open for visitors. For those who have never been onboard a USN ship, it can be challenging. Wear flat and comfortable shoes as the ladders (stairs) are quite steep. You can see how the officers and the crew lived and it really gives you an appreciation of what living at sea is all about. It is definitely worth the time for a visit. Additionally, you can rent out certain spaces for meetings or events. Great backdrop for your next meeting.
