We've eaten at the Veranda twice, several years apart. The Veranda is tucked in a quiet part of the Norfolk Lodge and Suites. The prime rib is one of the best we have ever had. This last time we were disappointed to find brussel sprouts as part of the vegetable variety served with both of our meals. We also had terrible stuffed mushrooms...swimming in a butter, rubbery and difficult to cut with little flavor. When we told the waiter they were not good and asked if they were canned mushrooms, he said they weren't; that they were frozen. They were not like any stuffed mushroom we have ever had! Although we only ate one bite each of the mushrooms, the waiter kept it on our bill and argued with us that there was "nothing wrong with them". He did end up taking them off our bill at the end, even though we had decided it wasn't worth it by that point. He then ignored us after that. The first time we ate there, though, we had no complaints or problems.
The restaurant lacksd ambiance, as it's basically one big room with tables and a fire place in the middle. It's been quiet both times we've been there, so if you're looking for quiet, it's worth a shot.
