“Fun diner--good eats!”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

Near the Chrysler Museum and the Page House B&B, this tiny diner on Grace St. is a real treat for lunch. Wayne, the friendly owner and chef, says they have the best Philly Cheese Steaks in Norfolk. I went there two days in a row and sat at the counter. I tried the chicken Philly with Provolone cheese (instead of the regular Cheese Whiz) and grilled onions on a soft bun. Loved the seasoning! I had a side of tasty cole slaw and a cold beer. Perfect. Next time, I had the special of the day, an Italian sausage sandwich with grilled onions and green peppers. Yum. Friendly, down home service, great grill, good value. I noticed they had fresh potatoes for hand cut fries. While the menu was simple grill fare, they also offered turkey & veggie burgers, wine and local beers. They are open weekdays 10am to 7pm. You can order food to go.

“Wonderful find”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

Nice little diner near Chrysler Museum. Parking may be a little difficult but well worth it. Delicious cheesesteaks!! Fresh handcut fries as well. Owner/chef was super friendly. You won't be diappointed.

“Great Philly Cheese Steaks - ALMOST There!”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

I am a Philadelphia transplant to the Hampton Roads, Virginia area, and consider it almost sacrilege to compare anything that resembles a cheese steak to what you get in Philly - mostly in the type of roll that is used there. However the Grace Street Grill comes very close. First of all, the restaurant is a unique piece of work - one is immediately greeted by this impressive mural painted on the outside South wall. Inside it is a basic, almost spartan dining area/bar with a small room for additional seating in the rear. There are daily specials on a rather small menu - but the cheese steak is featured. As in Philadelphia, this sandwich is available in Cheese Whiz (not my favorite) and provolone (more like it for me). The meat and grilled onions are cooked with a delightful spice. Work on the roll a bit and you have a Philly clone.

“The Best Philly in Norfolk”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

My husband and I went to Grace Street Grill for lunch... I had great food and a great conversation with the owner ( or at least I think he was the owner) and the waitstaff.
I had a Philly with provolone, fries and a bottled drink for less than 11 bucks. I enjoyed the small diner feel of the place and will be back!

“nutin fancy on the outside but 5 star food on the inside. Best Philly Cheesesteak ever!”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

They are under new management. The owner Wayne is super down to earth and he really cares about the customers dining experience. I had the small Philly Cheese wit onions and whiz. This is the only restaurant that actually uses cheesewhiz! The buns are fresh Alamosa shipped in fresh daily from Philly. Next time I will have to try one of there burgers. This is 5 star classic American diner food done with passion for food. If you are a foodie do yourself a favor and come eat here. They are open daily until 8 except Sunday. They serve beer and wine at decent prices. I have had cheesesteaks at Gino's Pats Tony Lukes and this is on the same level of awesomeness!
