“Portuguese cellar”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

It is a must to visit a port wine cellar. After asking around, which of the about 15-20 wineries, we should visit, we followed recommendation of one bar tender: Ferreira.
We chose standard tour, which lasts ca 30 minutes and includes two classes of port: red and white. At shop you can buy further examples.Tour guide was young lady called Lucy, who spoke excellent English clearly, enabling foreigners follow the tour easily. Tour gives you an idea, how port is produced and small history lesson. I would assume that children like the tour also, being in the wine cellars can be seen as an adventure.

“Excellent if slightly rushed tour of only portugese owned house.”
Reviewed 12 April 2014 via mobile

We throughly enjoyed this port tour. Felt slightly rushed in place and there were some rowdy characters on our tour which was rude ( imho) to the guide ( lucy) which was distracting. The white port was a lot nicer to my taste than the taylors one and enjoyed the insight into the impressive influence of dona a. A. Ferreira had on the development of this brand. You can also buy wines and brandy from the estate and it is a beautiful building. Recommended.

Very Nice Cellars, best port!! We went all the way up to cockburnes and they we're closed, despite their website said they were open whole year, so we ended up at Ferreira and that was really fun!

“good visit, wine test and guide”
Reviewed 4 February 2014

We took and english guide and enjoyed very much the visit. We saw many room and the guide correctly answered the questions she was made.

The wine test maybe was the only week thing. 5€ entrance fee was the cheapest option so there is the explanation probably. Only 2 wines were offered and for our sweet taste only one good. White wine named "lagrima" was the good one while the red wine ("rubi") was probably a little weak for what we expected.

“Ferreira”
Reviewed 3 January 2014

Jumped into the tour at the last minute and they were ver accommodating. The cost was very reasonable and it includes two tastings. We took our three pre-teen kids and they enjoyed the tour and appreciated that it was only 1/2 hour. It's a great window into Port wine making in a historic location in Porto. The guide was very knowledgeable and her English was great.
