We were on a day trip to Porto, but decided to stay for 2 nights because we fell in love with this charming city. We are a middle aged couple and this was our first time staying in a hostel. It exceeded our expectations! We booked the newly renovated suite with private bathroom. The room was beautifully appointed and well equipped, spotless and quiet with good airconditioning. The owner Joao is a great host and gave us many insights, tips and restaurant recommendations for Porto and Gaia. We will return and can truly recommend Hostel Gaia Porto!

We are a middle aged couple who were booked in to stay in this hostel for 3 days by our son who had stayed here in January 2016. We have never stayed in any hostel before so this was all new territory for us. We received such a warm welcome from João who owns the hostel. Indeed his welcome was so sincere that we felt at ease and comfortable from the outset. Our room was well appointed and pristine clean and comfortable. The staff take a very keen interest in looking after all their guests and ensuring your stay as rewarding and enjoyable. I would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this hostel to my friends confident in the knowledge that they would be well pleased with the cleanliness and standard of accommodations.
