We had a week in Porto and the Douro eating and drinking our way around and this was probably one of our least favourite meals. It was organised by our tour company otherwise we probably wouldn't have chosen to go.
We had a set lunch of Octopus carpaccio which was fine, there was a soup which was so slimy I couldn't eat it. We had cod fish which was very chewy and tasteless but it looked pretty. The main course was a cut of steak which was quite chewy but the flavour was ok but dessert was just odd - a sponge like deconstructed trifle - not good. Wines were good by staff were surly and not very attentive. The view over Porto and Gaia was however amazing.
