“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2013

We stopped here as part of a classic tour of Spain with Riviera travel. Our room was a good size, clean and had a lovely view over the countryside. Although we did not use the pool it looked inviting and the sitting area around it was clean and smart. The bar had a nice outside sitting out area with plenty of shade and reasonably good waiter service. Snacks as well as drinks could be ordered.

We had a nice evening meal in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast was good with a wide choice. Unfortunately like all these mass catering hotels the breakfast was not very warm, and we had to wait for a table to be cleared. Hence the 4 stars. The hotel is a distance from the nearest village but a bus did stop outside.

here for one night on touring vacation. Room fine shame no tea coffee facilities. Situation very attractive with very good views. Grounds nice too.
The breakfast would have been good as there was plenty of variety however, the hot breakfast was cold, not cool, but cold. When we complained to the tour rep the hotel microwaved my meal, so that was fine for me.
went to local village and ate there at place called pam pa the food was great, bit of a scary walk back tot he hotel though.
Would recommend this hotel if the breakfast had been hot.

Room Tip: our room was on ground floor and very quiet and comfortable

We stayed for one night on our Riviera Tour of Classical Spain. The hotel is set over looking Malaga with great views but a little distance from Mijas itself. Our tour manager arranged for us to visit Mijas first, a lovely little town, well worth the visit. We ate there so I cannot comment about the evening meals offered by the hotel, the breakfast however was the usual buffet offered by most hotels, adequate, but the coffee and fruit juice were pretty awful!! Our room was very pleasant with lovely views and good facilities. A good starting point for our touring holiday.

This was our first night introduction hotel for the Classical Spain tour with Riviera Travel. Lovely hotel, beautiful setting and would be a very peaceful place to stay to totally relax. The view from the side of the pool was amazing. The pool looked very inviting but as it was a little cold we did not venture in. The terrace in front of the pool was a lovely place to relax. The room was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. We were lucky to get a trip into Mijas (up the hill) in the afternoon which we thoroughly enjoyed. We even considered getting a taxi up there again in the evening but having eaten well at lunch time, we opted for a tapas style snack instead in the hotel bar which was lovely.

This was the first hotel of our tour with Riviera Travel located downhill from Mijas itself. Very quick and efficient checkin with an extremely warm welcome from the staff. Our room was allocated on the first floor - the same floor as the reception - overlooking some gardens at the side very quiet at all times. What a superb location overlooking the Costa Del Sol high up in the mountains. Lovely pool area that was quiet when we arrived with a delightful patio where drinks and snacks are served and automatically charged to your room. We arrived early afternoon and our tour manager organised for the bus to take into Mijas for a couple of hours where we decided to eat. There is an evening buffet provided at the hotel for 18.50Euros and safety deposit boxes are available for a charge. Had a lovely drink on the patio in the tranquil surroundings and found breakfast to be very adequate, though you do need to get there early to avoid the rush. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel to the right should you wish to travel independently into Mijas.

Room Tip: low floor overlooking the gardens

On the start of our tour of Classical Spain with Riviera Travel we stayed here for one night. Lovely setting but as we were late arriving we did not have any time to investigate.
Room was clean although small but enough for one night.
Buffet dinner was a disappointment, in as much as it was not very warm when we decided to eat. It had been sitting on the hotplates far too long and we had had enough time from leaving the coach to find our bearings with the hotel and have a shower and dress for dinner. We had a couple of drinks before hand, lovely setting outside by the pool, then went into dinner. It was chotic to say the least, the choice was not very imaginative and food was congealing. I think the answer to most of the hotels that do buffet dinner is to get there as soon as the restaurant opens.
Apart from the food everything else about this hotel was very nice. On speaking to a couple who had been there a few days they were impressed at how quiet it was there and they were relaxing.

Room Tip: As we only stayed one night we did not take much notice of the surroundings, we looked onto some cha...

We recently stayed overnight at the Hacienda Puerta del Sol as part of a Riviera Travel tour. The hotel is located outside the village of Mijas with no chance of walking uphill to the village. However a bus or taxi ride into the pretty village is well worth the effort to look around for an hour or so.
The hotel itself was perfectly comfortable, decorated in traditional style. The pool and terrace were excellent.
Breakfast buffet was good bar the orange juice.
