Lovely views but need a lot of updating. Meals monotonous. Not even able to get a good cup of tea in the morning. Water out of machines and not hot enough . Food al a bit "fatty". Carpets filthy and ants in the room. Pool great as were staff. Drinks certainly a bit over priced at the pool.

Stayed here for a week on half board, would suggest B&B a better option as there are some good restaurants in Mijas. The breakfast buffet is fine but the dinner buffet was only OK. The Gala dinner meal was however superb, the chef really is good & the service was excellent. The rooms are clean & well presented. The pool area and all public areas are well presented & clean. Wifi in the room would be good, plus better towels. The views from the bar are superb. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

The Trh Mijas is a pleasant hotel in Mijas with stunning views down to Fuengirola and the coast. The public rooms are spacious and well furnished and have the benefit of free WiFi access. The terraces and pool area are spacious and well kept. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and helpful. The disappointment was my room, although very spacious and well cleaned it was rather tired and being at the back of the hotel had no view as such. It also overlooked the access road and I was woken at 02:30 each morning by the refuse vehicle reversing down with warning bleeper and flashing lights going before the crashing sound of the bins being emptied. I would definitely recommend upgrading to a sea facing room and avoid room 50! Despite that I would stay there again, choosing the room carefully, as it is in an excellent position to enjoy Mijas, the coast and all the area has to offer. I only took breakfast here but it was an extensive buffet of good quality.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on floor 6 at the back of the hotel, worth paying a bit extra for the sea facing rooms...

Superb location in the centre of Mijas but the hotel was a bit of a maze. Reception was on floor 5, my room was on floor 2 and the closest lift only went to the 4th floor. Food was very good, buffet-style with plenty of choice. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is a supermarket nearby.

Stayed for 2 nights in 2012 and returned for a further 2 in 2013. Normally we like to stay in design hotels, but the location, pool, breakfast and amazing views brought us back again this year. The hotel is traditionally spanish in decor which is nice but the rooms need upgrading and the towels need replacing very soon. Finally the staff were very polite and helpful and for the money we will return here again for a couple of nights bed and breakfast without any hesitation.

Stayed at the T R H Mijas till 4th October 2013. Very comfortable hotel although probably could do with modernisation but might lose character. Food at evening meal a bit of a let down but generally edible. Breakfasts OK on the whole. Staff could be more attentive but fine. Girls that do the rooms do a great job. Mijas itself is a beautiful place and has some wonderful restaurants and Tapas bars. Would recommend the place but would say not suitable for families with young children. Also Mijas itself not suitable for those who cannot get about readily under their own steam.

Room Tip: Rooms on the same floor as the reception are excellent and don't involve stairs or lifts.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in Mijas. The town of Mijas is absolutely beautiful, we visited it for the day last year and just had to go back for more!
It amazes me what some people complain about but I suppose it depends on how much you pay as to what your expectations are. I got an excellent half board deal for my partner and I and we couldn't have been happier with our choice.
The hotel is full of period Spanish furniture, the pool area is lovely and has plenty of sun loungers, the grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept and the views are absolutely stunning.
Our room was a little dated but we don't go on holiday to spend loads of time in our hotel room so it was perfectly adequate. The room was cleaned and towels changed daily. I was a little disappointed that we only had a small balcony which wasn't big enough for a table and chairs but this certainly didn't spoil my holiday.
We found the reception staff to be friendly and happy to share information about the area itself - I must say though the barman was the exception, he was miserable and ignorant - he seemed to be on his own the night we visited the bar so maybe that had something to do with it but to be honest, we never intended staying in the hotel in the evening when we had Mijas on our doorstep with its many bars and restaurants.
We ate in the hotel on the first two nights and the food was varied and tasty and the restaurant staff were pleasant. Although we were half board, we ate out the rest of the time to make the most of our holiday in Mijas.
We had breakfast at the hotel each morning and there was plenty to chose from. Yeah you have to queue for coffee and food but that's due to the hotel being full and not a big deal surely!
There is a TV on the wall in the reception area which shows footage of Mijas and the hotel in the 1950's (I think) - Mijas itself hasn't changed a bit and you could tell the hotel must have been very impressive in its day.
There are bus stops just outside the hotel making it easy to get to Benalmadena or Fuengirola and then exploring the area further from there. We went to Marbella one day and Ronda another on local buses. This is a much cheaper way to explore the area than an organised tour and we found them to be reliable and always ran on time. The train too is an excellent way to see the area, running right from Malaga airport to Fuengirola - again, we found the trains to run on time and were always clean.
