My Husband and I recently visited Club Calahonda through and RCI time share and it was very relaxing.

Our apartment was very well kept with a nice kitchen which had all the amenities of home. There are two pools in the complex, one heated and one unheated. The heated pool was usually more crowded but we never had trouble finding lounge chairs. There is a small cabana near the heated pool which sells drinks and snacks.

Although people have said that a car is required for the area, we were perfectly happy walking. The supermarket is just down the road and the beach is easy to get to, although you have to cross over a major highway to get there. There is a nice strip of restaurants/bars about 1/2 mile away which we visited most days. Our favorite bar was The Loft- they serve tapas and the bar itself is beautifully decorated and the staff were very friendly. The resort has a shuttle which takes you to another beach about 3km away which is much nicer than the closest beach.

We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was unimpressive (especially for vegetarians) so we cooked in our apartment the remainder of the trip. They had live entertainment which was what you would expect in a beach resort - karaoke, live singing, etc. Not really our idea of hot entertainment but the older crowd seemed to enjoy it.

We took a taxi from Malaga airport which cost €55. On the way back we took a bus/train which was much cheaper (€5 for 2 people). The bus stop is just on the other side of the highway and goes twice an hour. It takes about 30min and drops you off directly in front of the Fuengirola train station.

This resort is really great if you are looking for a quiet holiday.

Room Tip: Go for a ground floor room for easy pool access

I am biased as I have owned here for 22 years !. The resort had some pretty bad times for the first few years with the owners wasting our maintenance fees. This all changed mid 90's and the complex has gone from strength to strength. The apartments include full kitchens and 2 bathrooms and the majority have lovely views. The staff are always very friendly and any broken equipment repaired or replaced within an hour. The only issue I have is with people hanging towels from balconies and making the place look a mess - don't they realise they have a clothes airer !! Antonio at the Palmtree is very friendly and goes out of his way to help.. great place..

Room Tip: I have a few favourite rooms !!!

Family of 5 with two teenagers and one 6 year old.
Spacious, clean with all mod cons apartments, well equipped for the English with Sky, dishwasher, washing machine and comfortable.
Only thing missing air con, but had ceiling fans in bedrooms.
Receptionist all very helpful and bi lingual, internet facility too.
Outdoor heated pool excellent for everyone, they also had a full time lifeguard which we thought was very good.
Poolside snack bar very handy and efficient although closed for 1 day in the week.
Security by locked gates with pin entry, good idea.
Very clean and convenient for quite a few restaurants and the El ZOCO centre.
Not convenient for beach unless you use the facility of the courtesy shuttle bus to cabopino beach, which was lovely and safe for children.

No nightlife really just its Palm Tree restaurant with some singers/impressionists but good enough to watch and listen to, shares complex with Crown Club Marbella as you can use their facilities also.
Could have more during day in the way of childrens club activities, as not much for them other than heated pool.

Nothing really for teenagers unless a school holiday when there are more children there.

Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday.

Stay was arranged throught an RCI exchange. Had 2 bed, 2 bathroom apartment on 4th floor. There is a lift. Aoartment was clean, comfortable and spacious for four people. Kitchen fully equipped. You need a car to see the best of the area. We did not use the facilities but pools looked clean and were in a grassed area. Plenty of sunbeds. Overall we had a good holiday - shopping (2 shopping malls nearbye, beach, and good restaurants by the sea. would not recommend local restaurants in the area, they do not represent the true gastronic delights of Spanish food. Get off the beaten track and see what you an find.
This is a nice quiet resort which would be enjoyed by families with young children and those of us wanting peace and quet.

We stayed here on a timeshare exchange and were more than impressed with the resort. Initially a bit worried if there was enough to do with kids, ages 7,10,13 and 15 but they made loads of friends. Although limited entertainment for them, we hardly saw them. Very safe area. Kids played in the games room and in the downstairs bar which had a separate kids area with pool table. They also played football and tennis. Restaurant downstairs had entertainment everynight. The little bus was great and took us down to the lovely Cabopino beach every day if we wanted and brought us back, although it was very packed on the return journey. Apartments were spotless and spacious. Immediate area was fairly quiet but loads of nice restaurants and bars within 10 minute walk and 2 massive supermarkets and a McDonalds also all within 10 minute walk. Also the bus stop is 5 minutes walk away which takes you into Marbella or Fuengirola although we only used this once. Everyone was very friendly and we made loads of friends. Just one thing too look out for is the evening Security guard who frequently jumped out of the bushes to tell off naughty children. We have booked for next year we enjoyed so much. This is not a lively resort but there is plenty to do and loads of kids during holiday periods to keep them entertained. Also you can use the facilities at all the other Crown Resorts if you are looking for a change of scenery.
