very pleased with our apartment be warned no reception you have to go to the sister complex. luckily a lady in the bar at the crossroads took us there we were completely lost at 1 am the coach driver just dropped us at the crossroads not at all helpful wont be using resorthopper again .we booked mini bus and told us it would be 4 stops ended up we were stop 15 .. back to the complex the pool was heated and had it to ourselves most of the day we went in sept and the weather was gorgeous. we went on the curtisy bus to the sister complexs and also short walk to bars and resturants. would go here again for a quiet week away.

Room Tip: only 22 apartments here all facing pool and gardens

This was our first RCI exchange week abroad, and we stayed for a week in a 2 rooms apartment on the ground floor during mid-October. The resort is located in an upper class, quiet residential area in Mijas, roughly 5-7 minutes of walk to the beach. The apartment itself was very clean and well equipped. The reception is at Club Delta Mar, which is less than 10 mins of walk from Riviera or 2 minutes by car. Club Marbella is only 4-5 minutes of drive, you can visit all their resorts and enjoy their facilities freely. La Riviera is not as big as their other resorts, not much activities onsite though, except the pools. The baby pool by the way was not heated, the water was freezing cold which we found it quite odd, first time in my travel experience I have seen such. October is considered off-season, therefore the pool bar was closed, and we didn't have the BBQ night on Friday which was a little disappointment. But the resort was still quite populated during our stay, therefore the management should consider keeping the pool bar open, since there are still demand for services and the weather was still perfectly warm between 25'C to 29'C. There are at least two supermarkets down the road at the nearest roundabout. If you like Indian food, there is Restaurant Korma which serves very good food. As a Malaysian-Chinese origin, I personally prefer the Golden Sun Chinese restaurant, which we ate there twice, and trust me, I wouldn't mind eating there everyday, because it's not just good taste, but cheap! :) There are more restaurants in a small commercial center called El Zoco, which is only about 3 minutes of drive from La Riviera (when you come down to the main road A7/N340 from the resort, El Zoco it's on your right side AFTER the gas station and BEFORE the Calahonda exit. There is a restaurant called Meson de Calahonda, which is the best restaurant in Sitio de Calahonda, you can get the reviews from TripAdvisor, absolutely worth trying!

Just back after a 2 week stay at club la riviera crown resort Mimas . On arrival out apartment was changed so we did not get the 2 bed 2 bath we were expecting but the accommodation was clean and both bedrooms were quite a good size.the apartment was well equipped including detergent for the washing machine and for washing dishes. The tv was rather small for the size of the living room and there was a limited amount of English channels. Wi fi was advertised but it was a long trail over to reception to use it so we tended to use the local bars. The pool bar was open during the afternoons but not many people seemed to use it. It is a quiet resort with good parking and well placed for the local bars, shops and restaurants. It is quite a long way to club Marbella to use the gym and indoor pool but well worth the trip. We do our own thing so did not use all of the crown resort facilities .

Room Tip: A lower floor as the balcony was very small

Aug 2013.......We have just got home from 2 weeks at La Riviera. We originally booked to stay in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom at Delta Mar, but on arrival were asked if we would move to La Riviera? Our party was, myself, my wife and 3 grown up children, boys 14 and 16 and my daughter 19.
I AM SO HAPPY THEY MOVED US................
1st the room, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom plus bed-living room was great.
the complex was so clean and very quiet with very well kept gardens, a md sized and very clean pool. Delta Mar is only 5 minutes walk and the free mini bus, just a call away got us to Club Marbella when ever we wanted.
A special thank you to Jose who runs the pool side bar with his girlfriend and sister, they made our holiday very special.
ALL BEING WELL WE WILL BE RETURNING NEXT YEAR

Room Tip: Ask for a pool facing room, much better view

Have just spent two weeks at La Riveria and been going for at least the last 12 years. This year was a little dissapointing as it appears they have encouraged a block booking for a number of the apartments and we found this made it very difficfult for us to get involved on anything on site. It is usually very quiet here which is why we like it, no fighting over sunbeds and this is still the same but we had no idea what was happening each night. The bar has changed hands again and there was no information made available to us and some nights we saw them providing food for some of the families on site but although we used the bar during the day no info was forthcoming, we also felt the bar area was being used as a business centre, people coming and going and using the bar area for meetings and felt this discouraged us from going down there. The staff appeared not to understand much english. There was also some concerns over security with so many people coming and going. The bar is open i think from 8am until midnight and some night they have russian karaoke, interesting one night a security guard appeared and asked them to be quiet and no it wasn't us who complained, maybe we should have.

We stayed here in September 2010. We stayed in a ground floor 2 bedroom 2 bathroom sleep 8. In our party there was me, my partner and our son (who was 4 months old at the time) my parents and my brother and his girlfriend!

We all stayed in the one apartment and it was extremley spacious even with all us in it! The reception staff we very helpful and when we recieved the cot with no matress they were extremely apologetic and bought us a brand new one!!!

The resort consits of 2 pools and a baby pool! these are fantastic and kept everybody entertained! The childrens play area was well equiped aswell!

The bar was fantastic and cheap and the bar snacks were very good aswell!

The shop that is near by is not cheap and if you are self catering and wanting to cook at all i would suggest finding lidil or supersol and doing a shop there!

The area is fine but not excatly buzzing! there is a few nice resturants but you would probably want to take a trip to Marbella or La Calla! the Cheapest wayof doing so is by bus! these are very reliable and very cheap compared to taxi's!!!

Overall a lovley resort for people of all ages!

Just come back from La Riveria and once again enjoyed a summer break in the what is usually a quiet resort. Good news this year the pool bar opening hours have been extended and they now open in the evening. Whilst prices have definitely gone up in surrounding bars and restaurants the pool bar was good value for money. A lovely young couple now run the bar and they work hard to provide for holidaymakers. The paella night on wednesday and barbeque on friday is really good value the barbeque in particular had a range of meats and plenty of it. The bar prices are cheaper than local bars and the cocktails (particularly the Lolly Pop) are 3 euros and good value as well as taste good.

The frist week was quiet with many english families however the second week was really noisy with a couple of families who had no regard for the noise they made shouting from balcony to balcony until late in the night. taking over the pool etc We also had an univited guest a cat who decided it wanted to get into the apartments and being on the ground floor took an open door as an invitation which suprised the family sleeping in the living room, unfortunately they had to barricade the doors to stop it from getting in and we left the kitchen window open one evening at it came through it. If you love cats you'll be okay, but we had a baby with us and needed to keep it out.
