We visited Grangfield Oasis in Oct 2012, the 4 of us got a groupon deal which made the holiday amazing value.

The apartment was spotless and a cleaner cleaned during our stay. The pool and gardens were nice but far too busy, we had to lie on the floor on towels one day because there were no sunbeds available.

It is a quiet location (which we like) but you must hire a car to explore. Taxis are cheap and easy to get hold of to take you to clubs/bars/restaurants.

Tips: The bar closes quite early and gets very busy at happy hour!!!

Dear Guest,
Many thanks for your visit last year and we sincerely hope it is not the last one, from October last year we have made some important changes for the benefit of our guests. The resort runs now a courtesy bus to beach and main shopping area for those that do not want to drive during their holidays. From there there is also a wide range of public transport to communicate with the rest of main touristic areas.
Our happy hour has been extended during the early evening having this season 3 hours of happy hour right before dinner cocktails included
I hope to see you soon back
Many thanks

Having read some of the negative reviews of Grangefield, I have felt compelled to write my own review to balance things out a bit!
Yes, Grangefield is located at the top of a large steep hill, quite a walk from shops, bars & the beach but then surely any sensible person would have researched it's location before staying there and known this first?! If you stay here, you really need a hire car to be able to move about freely which both times we have been to this resort, (once in 2006 & again this year in 2013) we have made sure we had. It's easy to access by car, has plenty of parking options & once you get there, in my opinion it's lovely.
We stay in Infiniti apartments so I can only comment on them and they are wonderful. The level of cleanliness is very high, the facilities within the apartments are brilliant and if you have any problems the staff at reception deal with them asap.
There is one restaurant, serving (again in my opinion), very nice food. There is lots of choice, our party is always mixed with carnivores & vegetarians and everyone has had lots to choose from. The prices are fairly reasonable for a captive audience & the quality of the food that we have had, has always been lovely. It's also 2 for 1 on drinks between 4-7pm at the restaurant/pool side bar.
The staff throughout the resort are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating.
The two pools are well maintained, the smaller one tending to be used by the younger children so the larger one is usually quite quiet, with plenty of space. The downside is that when the pools open at 10am, people are queuing to get their sun beds but then we have never had a problem getting some for our group the times we have done this.
There is entertainment laid on most evenings and typcal for any holiday resort, it is varied in quality & appeal but then it is impossible to please everybody to be fair. The resort also has ping pong, pool and air hockey tables, tennis courts and a small shop selling all the essentials & some gifts. There is crazy golf there too but it really needs updating so don't expect this to be great.
In summary, the two times we have stayed here, we have had a lovely time. We have used it as a base to explore the area and then return to for a swim, a cocktail or two and an evening of playing cards, chatting & drinking wine on our balcony. I would like to think we have fairly high standards when it comes to where we stay & Grangefield has always met these for us. In the times when things have gone wrong, e.g. when our washing machine & toilet broke, both were fixed within the hour!
My family & friends all had such a great time there this year, we have decided to go back one more time next summer in 2014.

Dear Guest,
We sincerely regret to read your words about your stay in Grangefield Oasis, children entertainment has been running during July, August and will end up in half September as per school holidays period. As we are in a quiet area of Riviera del Sol where you will find easy to relax and leave stress away we have a courtesy bus running to the beach and main shopping area from 9.15 a.m to 22.15 pm seven days a week.

I am writing this whilst on holiday at the Grangefield as I think some of the reviews are very unfair, and had left me dreading coming here.
Our apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and even 2 balconies. It is very well equipped with washing machine, microwave, and even a juicer should you want one. It is perfectly clean, and whilst the cleaners aren't in every day it's hardly a health hazard. There is some noise from the "entertainment" but it does finish at 10.30.
Yes it is in the middle of nowhere but the courtesy bus runs every hour and is easily bookable. The drivers are very helpful and dropped us at the supermarket and collected us an hour later. The bus costs 19 euros for the whole stay and this includes wireless access and access to the leisure centre ( but haven't been in there).
We haven't had a problem with sunbeds maybe it's a bit quieter this week, but didn't get to the pool till midday today and had no trouble. Also haven't had our beds poached despite popping in for lunch. The pool is very clean and they don't seem to mind the kids having a few inflatables. There is two seperate pools, one with a shallow end and a deeper one.
We are on the half board option which may not win master chef but is perfectly adequate. Adults get 3 courses at dinner, kids get 2. A few of the dishes have a 4E supplement, but not many. Unlike many all inclusives you choose off a menu rather than buffets. There is a kids menu but they will make up smaller versions of the adult meals if they want it. Currently the kids are taking great delight I working rough the extensive desert menu. Breakfast is lovely, good supply of croissants , pain au chocolate, cooked breakfast, fruit cereal etc.
There is a kids club which is free and open 10-1. It's really just a hut and playground with a few toys, but was a good place for the children to meet each other..
I really wouldn't let the reviews put you off from booking here. It is good value for money and certainly no worse than a lot of places. Kuoni it isn't but if all you want is sun a pool and someone else cooking dinner for a week or two, then I can't fault it.

Had a lovely holiday in this quiet resort. Excellent clean apartment for a family of 4 well equipped for self catering, lovely view of the pool from the balcony (requested top floor) which caught the sun for the majority of the day. Our apartment was behind the pool bar and we were concerned about being kept awake late with the night entertainment but this ended at 10.30 which suited us. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We hired a car for the full holiday and explored the local area with lots to see. Lovely sandy beaches and trips into the mountains. Ate at the pool side restaurant twice with nice food and a similar price to the local restaurants. There were a few negative aspects. The gym was very run down with machines not working properly and there was a gap where the tread mill (which was on the picture) should have been. The pools did not have enough sun beds and we very rarely found enough as I refused to join the queue that built up 15 minutes before opening time with people running in to grab their preferred position. The cleaners were very good and came frequently but you were never sure what days they were coming. On the last day, we tried to extend our stay in our apartment as we had an evening flight but were only allowed an extra hour so spent a lot of time sat around waiting. The only other negative was the poor quality wifi that we paid extra for to access in our appointment. It was very frustrating as it was either very slow or would not work at all. However, overall, we loved Grangefield and would recommend it if you hire a car and appreciate a bit of peace and quiet.

Room Tip: If you want a sunny balcony, ask for a top floor apartment. However, if you have limited mobility th...

We stayed in the Grangefield for two weeks and had a very relaxing time. This was already the 4th time we spend our holiday there. Our appartment was spotless: every two days we received new towels and bed sheets and the appartment was cleaned. The staff was friendly and helpfull. Especially we have to praise the excellent service from Elizabeth : she was always very friendly and a good entertainer for the bingo !! Restaurant service at the poolbar was very good. Although its remote location, the grangefield is a good base for several trips to Cordoba, Sevilla, Malaga, Gibraltar and so on. You need a car anyway to get in the grangefield, so you better use it to make several nice trips !! We certainly will come back!

We visited the Grangefield Oasis Club last year and were interested to see what had changed with the Petchey Group no longer being involved. We still had a great time, but could see some differences. The location is very quiet and very good for families but a car really is needed as it is a half hour walk to any shops. There is a bus service run by the hotel which, if booked early on, is very reasonable. The restaurant still has entertainment most days although the nightly cabaret only happens on four nights now, and there is a shop. The pools have an active life guard and have a graduated slope making it safe for most visitors. The staff are very pleasant and polite.
However, that said, we did feel that savings were now being made which, for anyone who had visited before, were quite noticeable. We had a splendid apartment, but it is now beginning to look shabby and could do with an upgrade. We rarely saw a chambermaid/cleaner during our week, so unlike last year, and the rooms did not look sparkling when we arrived. The shop used to have a full time member of staff, but is now covered by the front reception, meaning a considerable wait whilst the one person on duty deals with arrivals, departures, or any other day-to-day matters. Happy hour has moved from the late evening to the afternoon, no bad thing, but there did appear to be quite a hike in restaurant and drink prices.
It remains to be seen whether we will return next year, we will keep reading the reviews to get others thoughts before we consider booking.

Dear Guest,
Many thanks for spending your holidays for us and your feedback, congratulations to the staff will be passed on to them and to head of departments. Shop staff issue has been due to an unforeseeable sickness of one of the members and has been fully addressed and back to normal.
Happy hour has been extended and you will find it in the afternoon and evenings after dinner.
Hope to welcome you again next year
