This is the third year that we have stayed at this beautiful, quiet villa. Before leaving for Spain, I had a couple of queries and Mary was always quick to reply to them. On arrival, Mary was there to greet us with her usual warm welcome and we felt like we had returned home. The villa was spotlessly clean inside and outside. Mary had provided us with some fruit, vegetables, drinks, etc...
We are a family of 8 including a grandma who finds it hard to get around and 5 children ranging from 17 to 4. The villa contains a good selection of baby equipment. There is a cot, baby bath, high chair and different size car seats. This year we used the booster car seat for our 4 year old. My mother finds the villa easy to get around as it is all on one level. The children never get bored as there is the swimming pool, shed with a PlayStation in, pool table, darts, television, etc... There are plenty of seating areas giving a range of options throughout the day. As the sun is on the pool throughout the day the water is pleasantly warm.
The barbecue area is great; it is basically an outdoor kitchen. It was fun to cook outside, something which I never do in the UK!!!!
I met William for the first time this year and he is just as friendly and helpful as Mary. We had a problem with the handle on the kitchen sink. Mary and William came around to fix the tap when it was convenient for us.
Hiring a car is necessary, but then the world is your oyster. In previous years we have driven to Ronda, Gibraltar and Tarifa and enjoyed a day trip to Tangier, Morocco. This year we made the two hour journey to Córdoba which was well - worth the visit. Marbella is about half an hour away as is Torremolinos. The hustle and bustle of the Costa del Sol is all within easy reach as are a range of national parks and beautiful scenery.
We are already looking forward to our return visit next year.
This is a truly magnificent Villa.
The Villa is spacious inside and is presented to a very high standard throughout with everything you would possibly need to hand. The range of DVD''s, CD's, games and reading material provided is also a very nice touch and caters for all the family.
The outside is exceptional and the pictures, as good as they are, don't really do it justice. The pool is a large one and perfect for all the family. There are a number of seating areas which give you options for various preferences and times of the day. The barbecue area is a very high standard area and was used greatly. The pool table and the games room are fantastic for children.
The Villa is handily paced for Malaga airport- it is a straightforward drive. The Villa is also handily placed for Coin itself (about 1km) which has all the shops and restaurants you would require.
If the Villa itself isn't enough to make you want to stay there, then the level of service from Mary and Bill (the owners) is simply stunning. The communication before our stay was first rate and the personal touch we received throughout our stay was very much appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble,. Mary met us at the Villa and gave us a comprehensive tour of the whole Villa and left us with some groceries to start us off. Nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay.
Highly recommended.
This is our third time at Casa de Marbilla, so that should indicate how we feel about the place. We arrived to a wonderful warm welcome by Mary the owner and we had the privilege to meet Bill (Mary's Husband) who was away at work in the UK the last two times we visited.
Firstly you really benefit from having a car here to get about as there is so much in the surrounding areas.
What can I say from a practical point of view this villa has everything any family could want. Each bedroom and living room have aircon and I mean good aircon! The house is spotless and not even the most OCD clean freaks could find fault with this villa. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen has all new appliances there is also a washing machine. The living room has a good selection of DVDs, CDs, books and a cupboard full of games and colouring in stuff to keep kids happy. The BBQ area is fully functioning with a sink, gas hob and a fridge. The outside space is wonderful with plenty of seating, a pool table and lovely refreshing swimming pool. There is a Play Station and games and there is Wi-Fi.
I love this house and feel at home in it. Mary and Bill now live next door but they are not intrusive. They are on hand should you need them I needed a pharmacy and Mary took me to an English speaking one which was great no crossed wires. Mary and Bill will advise you on great restaurants to eat at and good places to go for the day with kids it could be to a national park or to the coast there is plenty to do.
With exception to the USA I will only holiday in Casa de Marbilla as I know it so well now and I would never again go on a package holiday and stay in a resort hotel or apartment. I feel very spoilt staying here especially if you do go to the likes of Torremolinos or Benalmadena for the day and realise how lovely the villa is and the surrounding towns (Coin, Alhaurin el Grande and Mijas) where we would go to eat and shop.
If you are considering this villa I highly recommend it and you would need to book early as it is starting to book up quickly and I will definitely be back in the future. Thank you to Mary and Bill for everything.
I visited this villa with my family and truest it is an amazing villa which is approximately 30 minutes from Malaga airport. Mary the owner really made us feel very welcome, and for a week Spanish holiday home ownership felt like a reality!
I heard about this villa through a person who stayed here. All I can say is if you're planning a Spanish costa del sol holiday don't go for the over paid hotels at tormolinos, find somewhere like this which is tucked away in marilmonte urbanisation, conveniently situated from Malaga airport which is a 2.5hr flight from the London airports, this really is a gem of a villa.
It has air conditioning, swimming pool, pool table, amazingly comfortable beds and power showers and my favourite is the views. Very well priced accomodation I will defiantly be coming back with my family.
Thanks for everything to the team at casa de marbilla. We can't wait to come back.
We have just returned from an amazing week's family holiday at casa de marbilla. 2adults and 2 children aged 12&10. We flew into malaga airport and were met by Mary who owns the villa. She was brilliant, warm, friendly and the kids loved her. She pointed out local sights and attractions on the 25min journey to the villa. She even taught the children a few new Spanish words. The villa is absolutely perfect, immaculate, fully equipped with everything you could need and more. The outdoor area is stunning with plenty of room for garden games. We had use of the beautiful pool, sun beds, big barbecue and pool table. There is also a playstation3 with many games in the oversized garden shed, my son loved this and kept him entertained at the hottest part of the day when he was avoiding the sun.
Inside the villa didn't disappoint either, beautifully furnished and bright. The entrance was really welcoming and Mary was very thorough whilst showing us around. There is air conditioning throughout the villa which we didn't use but would definitely be needed if visiting in the summer months. The bedrooms where spacious with lots of storage in them all. Mary gave us lots of information about the local area and made us feel relaxed. She had even done a bit of shopping for us as well which included bread, milk, butter, pate, juice and biscuits for the children, fruit and lots of tea, coffee and sugar. also provided were maps of the local area and money off vouchers for near by attractions.
This was our first villa holiday and definitely won't be our last. We all had a great time at casa de marbilla and would highly recommend it to families looking for a relaxing holiday.
We have just returned from a fabulous 10 day holiday at this lovely villa. The villa is very comfortable and the outside space in particular is outstanding. The pool and grassed area, together with the outside eating area, pool table and barbecue made it ideal for a large family group.
Mary, the owner, made us feel very welcome and was most helpful with advice on where shops and restaurants were to be found locally.
We have hired villas for many years and found that this was one of the most well equipped we have stayed at, with every need catered for. Not only was it well equipped with plentiful supplies of china, glasses, kitchen utensils, linen, towels etc but they were all of excellent quality. Mary had also supplied some provisions for the beginning of our stay which was a nice touch.
We would thoroughly recommend this villa for a family holiday.
