“A perfect little hotel.”
Reviewed 29 September 2012

We wondered if booking a 2* hotel would be a mistake, but it was in a good position for our overnight break from western Portugal and the Costa Blanca where we live. We needn't have worried.

The hotel has a countryside setting and a lovely pool, wiht excellent views of the surrounding countryside. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with good aircon. They have a fantastic restaurant which sadly only opened for lunch while we were there ( July 2012) but an outdoor kitchen produced a good standard evening meal.

Since we had only paid 55E for bed and breakfast for two we weren't expecting much by way of breakfast but we were surprised to be offered a cooked breakfast or fruit etc. We opted for orange juice, freshly cooked bacon and eggs with toast and coffee, which were excellent.

The hotel Rural Llano Pina is in a good location for Granada if you want a bit of countryside too. We would go there for a short out of season break just to walk in the area which is scenically very attractive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a good view. Some overlooked the car park.

Stayed on route to Seville for one night, what a delightful surprise this hotel was. Quiet location just off the motorway about 30mins. drive from Granada overlooking mountain views. Very friendly family run hotel and we were made to feel very welcome. Speedy check-in, good sized quiet rooms and above average standard, comfortable bed!
There was a bar serving food day and night, and the restaurant was good. The pool area was a perfect place to spend the afternoon after a long drive. It would be a good base to visit surrounding area of Andalusia.
We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to stay another night on our return journey and were equally impressed.

Room Tip: Stay more than one night!

We found this hotel through Colours of Spain who were helpful but a bit slow in arranging the booking. We wanted somewhere between Cordoba Seville and Granada which was mid range as we were not intending to use it much more than a base for touring. We wanted a pool for those lazy days and a decent restaurant. Llano Pina is a family run hotel 2 star which caters for travellers but has a lively local clientele. So it wasnt unusual to sit down to breakfast in the bar with the locals who had just driven past on the way to work. It wouldnt suit everyone but we loved the place. Rooms are spotless, bathrooms faultless, decor restrained. Big rooms and air conditioning which even in September was needed.
Food was good quality local produce and prices were very reasonable. A beer was 1.2 Euros.
Pool was clean and as we seemed to be the only people around we had a choice of all the loungers.
Staff were more than helpful - they dont speak a lot of English but no worse than my Spanish. When we went to Seville for the day they got up early to give us breakfast at 7.00. By the end of our stay we were getting free tapas and all the staff would say hello.
Only negative was the noise from the AC which we wouldnt have had on but there was a vociferous cockerel in a nearby field so sleeping with the window open was impossible.
Probably the best hotel experience ever beating the Pan Pacific Singapore which wasnt bad. If they had said this was 4 star I wouldnt have disagreed.

Room Tip: Avoid room 209 above bar. The hotel is also used by locals for functions so other rooms might get...
