Perfect steak, homemade garlic chips. Caviar smaviar!! Gotta try the smoked sturgeon, served on small rounds of bread, spread lightly with tomato, slice of smoked sturgeon sprinkled to personal taste with virgin olive oil and white pepper - sheer perfection ;) Too full to try the pud's but the selection looked good... first class service and very welcoming

We travelled from the Malaga coast to have lunch in this restaurant and it was worth every mile.
The food was delicious. Top quality. Raimundo was charming and efficient.
My Son has a gluten allergy and he bent over backwards to facilitate him, even cooking him special chips.
We live in Spain and will definitely take our friends.

Travelling from Jerez back to Denia last May, we decided to have lunch at Casa Raimundo, in this small Andalusian village, 2 km from the motor way. Very warm welcome and perfect food and service: the chef cooked us a custom menu, as we had specisl whishes. And the finishing touch was the amazing ribera del duero (Pago de las Caraovejas, crianza 2009), decanted as it should. We will surely visit again, when even remotely near!

Having read other reviews we decided to visit this place. We turned up a bit early at midday and ordered some beers (half pints in wine glasses) and to our surprise Tapas of stewed pork and potatoes came out straight away (we thought they'd just opened so wouldnt be cooking yet). We got through another 2 drinks and 2 plates of tapas (local meats and olives, fish balls and fried potatoes) and got speaking to the friendly owner. He then offered us another drink on the house and out came another plate of meats and cheese. All the food was very nice and it was an enjoyable few hours in the sun. To our surprise, maybe even shock, the bill came to 10 Euros. Amazing value and a great time. The only other surprise was how quiet it was, the other restaurants in the town are much more visible and were busier, but it was the off-season.

The location is terrific
The village of Rio Frio is just 2 minutes off the Seville - Granada motorway, and just 3 km from the Malaga - Cordoba motorway. It’s a delightful village with just 300 inhabitants. Home to one of the earliest certified organic fishfarms in Europe, Rio Frio prides itself on being the only known source of the Southern European Sturgeon.
The moment we entered the restaurant we were made to feel really welcome in way that is quite rare in Andalucia. The atmosphere was …. well just happy. No tourists, just Spanish families. We went on a busy Friday lunchtime, but the service was unflustered and quietly efficient, The crew are knowledgeable and yes, really welcoming, and most seem to speak English. Don Francisco, the boss, is a real charmer who clearly keeps a controlling eye on everything.
And the food? The menu is not wildly adventurous, but there’s a much wider choice of more interesting dishes than you would find nearer Granada. We shared the smoked sturgeon as a starter and it was delicate and delicious. The lubina and poached salmon were both perfectly cooked. The wine list was good with interesting Duero wines, and the whole meal was very affordable.
It’s a lovey day out to drive there and eat and drink really well and and be looked after beautifully.

It is going to become a regular for us,
