This Parador is in a lovely renaissance palace which was not too hard to find. Our GPS got us close and then luckily we spotted it ... there is only a small sign which is easy to miss. You might have more luck looking for the church next door (Capilla de el Salvador).
The room was a good size, but a bit worn looking. Everything was comfortable and the staff were friendly. It was difficult to get a wi-fi connection in the room, so I went into the courtyard to go online. We had tapas for dinner in the cozy bar downstairs and our server was very nice.
The location in town is great! We took a nice evening stroll to take a look at the sites.

We booked on the Parador's web site, during May and June there was a special two nights for the price of one. We stayed two nights and paid 94E per night for a standard room without breakfast. The Parador is a 16th century palace with a beautiful internal renaissance courtyard. It is situated on the spacious Plaza de Vazquez Molina. You can drive up to the Plazza, you cannot park there but it's a only one minute walk to the entrance to the Hotel. There is a free car park three minutes walk away. We received a very warm welcome and shown to our room. As previously mentioned the rooms do need some tlc. It's obviously difficult to fit spacious rooms into a very historic building but the room and fittings were not of the standard that we had experienced in other Paradors. A slight disappointment. We stayed in room 124 an internal room on the first floor. Other than some noise from the hallway the room was quiet. On our second morning we enjoyed the breakfast, 16E per person. The usual Parador fare. Otherwise we did not eat at the Hotel, however we did experienced a fabulous meal at Antique. We enjoyed our stay in this historic palace and found the service generally to be of a high friendly standard.

The room for me was not up to my usual parador standard. The parador itself is looking a little sad. Even so still a wonderful parador. I did like the menu, I had the museum menu which was great, several taster dishes of the local area. My red wine was superb! The service faultless. The town was very atmospheric I took the tourist train ride just opposite the parador. Very bumpy for photos 75percent of the journey was over cobbles, but very absorbing, showed you different options of restaurants other than eating at the parador. I think the parador for me was a wise choice. The desayunos (breakfast) as all paradores was excellent ! I loved my visit.

Room Tip: No idea. All rooms seemed the same, my room overlooked the plaza which was nice!

A very elegant building on a central square of the town. A very comfortable hotel and we had a good lunch in the restaurant. Breakfast of course was the usual very good choice that all the Paradors offer.

This is certainly the best bet in Ubeda. It is an old palace right on the main square at the end of town. As with all old, historic buildings, all the rooms are different, some being better than others. We stay at paradors regularly, and I must say that I prefer the ones in castles and monasteries better, but this is still nice. Your other option is to stay at the parador in Jaen, which is very close, and come to Ubeda for a day visit. Prices are reasonable and the historic part of town is lovely.

We were en route from Madrid to Granada and this seemed like a good place to break the trip. The actual Parador is in a historic square. You can't drive up to it and have to park on the street or at a parking area a good 200m away. Our Gps kept taking us to the square which is blocked off to traffic. We could tell on the screen we were very close but unless you get within 40 feet by walking into the square you won't see the small sign by the entrance.
Rooms are a little older and smaller than some other Paradors we stayed at. But the price is also lower! We arrived late in evening. Night receptionist was new and had trouble getting us checked in on the computer but otherwise our stay was very enjoyable given we'd just flown 5000 miles and driven 3 hours! Room was comfortable and bathrooms were pleasantly modern given the rest of the building was old even by other parador standards. Restaurant was average for Paradors. Like most Paradors there is always some regional dish on the menu which is great. Nothing is ever bad.

Superb location in monumental square. Perfectly placed for Easter processions by main church: while on a smaller scale than Sevilla, one can get front-line views easily and without a struggle. Charming old palace, with traditional style furnishings (in good condition). Friendly and helpful staff. Ubeda itself certainly merited the visit: it has some magnificent archtecture, and it´s easy to get to Baeza, Sierra de Cazorla and other historical sites.

One negative: other than the local speciality dishes, some of the Parador restaurant meals were below the desired standard. Decent breakfast and local stews. Attentive service..but food quality overall was so-so. Meson Santiago (a ten min drive) the best alternative we found....and La Imprenta was good too.
