Was bemused when I read of the 'dated' furniture in this hotel - it is so much nicer to find appropriate furniture in an old hotel! The mattresses were very firm. In the heart of the old city, the location is excellent, especially when I wanted to go to a concert - during the music festival - which finished at 2am and I had only to walk around the corner! The breakfast buffet was good, marred only by the ubiquitous urn of invariably weak coffee. You can order coffee from the cafeteria if they're not busy with a coach party. The food in the restaurant was good but what was invaluable was their willingness to provide ad-hoc orders from the cafeteria, which fitted around working hours (this can often be a problem). There's no mini-bar/fridge but it isn't really required. One thing they could improve on: the toilets in the public area could be cleaned more frequently.

Room Tip: Had a room overlooking the - unused - pool/patio and it was perfect for watching the stars or listen...

We booked this hotel the afternoon of our arrival after plans for our other hotel fell through. This hotel is located in a pretty nice area of town, and the receptionists are very helpful, but the rooms are just not up to par -- even for the cheap price. Everything in our room was dated, much of the furniture did not match, and we could not get the internet or the television to work properly. It looks like they have some nicer rooms, but the room we stayed in was definitely not one of them. The best part of the experience is the car park, which you enter via a pretty cool elevator, but even that isn't enough to make up for the depressing state of the rooms. If we'd been able to research our other options, we would have stayed almost anywhere else!

Really good value hotel in a prime location in the historic centre of Ubeda. Our two rooms were large each with two king size beds, the hotel has a small pool and spa facilities. The staff are very helpful, nice buffet breakfast and reasonably priced restaurant serving local dishes.
The hotel does have a car park but the entrance is on the small side, there is street parking a few minutes away though.

The centre of Ubeda is old, renaissance and very tight to drive around. Don't visit here in a car larger than a fiesta or be prepared to struggle.
The hotel is typically modernised Spanish. Tiled floors, quite spacious and barely comfortable. We had two large double beds which were comfortable, so full marks on that count. However there was no hot water for a shower or shave in the morning
Catering was adequate at best, we ate out at the excellent Navarro restaurant (which see for review)
Breakfast was only OK, although the coffee was excellent.
Car parking in central Ubeda is extremely difficult but the hotel has an underground car park.
The car park is accessed by a large lift, although anything wider than a fiesta would definitely struggle. There is a fee of 10 euros per night, but since you may find no other easy car parking within 500 metres, I advise paying and enjoy the ride down and up !!!

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Restaurant and snack facility fine. Room good. Right in the centre of the old city making it an ideal location for sightseeing. Car parking is fun. The car lift to the underground car park was a tight squeeze and the wing mirrors had to be folded in to fit, but all went ok and the car was securely parked. Parking is not for the faint hearted.

Overall excellent value for money.

A group of 50 people stayed in this lovely hotel for two nights for dinner, bed and breakfast. The staff were very welcoming, I personally had a room on the 3rd floor but the people staying on the first floor their rooms were refurbished in a modern style. I didn't get any feedback on the guests staying on the second floor. Our room was clean and comfortable and the original Spanish style but well appointed. Our television didn't work but once we notified reception, when we arrived back after a day out it had been replaced.

The breakfast was adequate, with the usual cereals, toast etc. and ham and cheese, hard boiled eggs. The dinner, which was a set meal for a group, was beautifully presented and very good. For the usual guests there was a very good menu. Our driver, who is Spanish, ate in the dining room at lunchtime on the day we arrived and he declared it very good.

The access by car isn't a problem but with a coach we had a 500 metre walk from the bus which was up a hill and cobbled, the hotel is in the old town. But once there it was worth the effort. There is a spa which I didn't try.

Room Tip: Our room was overlooking the street but I think if it had been overlooking the gardens and outdoor p...

Another overnight stop on our way south. We were recommended by a friend to visit Ubeda as it sits next to one of the largest national parks in Spain. Although due to time constraints we did not have time to tour the park it gave us the opportunity to visit this historic town and enjoy some good meals. The hotel is a bit difficult to find as it hidden in the depths of the old town alleys but it is very comfortable and has a small swimming pool in an internal courtyard. Our room was fairly basic but a decent size with a good bathroom and airconditioned which was essential as the out side temp was 40 degs C. We only paid 49 euros icluding basement parking so good value and good location for exploring the old town on foot. We will be back to explore the national park and would be happy to stay again.
