This is Teruel's famous town square with its statue of a bull on a plinth. In truth though, we passed through the square without even noticing the bull the first time! The statue is a tiny one on the top of a pillar in a fountain and with so much activity in the square and so much to see, we just did not realise where we were!
The square is very much a meeting point, surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants and historic buildings. Locals say that not noticing the bull is par for the course. When you do spot it, it is easy to see why it is so famous - it is an oddity to see a statue that can't be much more than 30cm long on the top of the column.
The whole area is filled with Mudejar architecture and is a delight to visit. Beautiful towers, arches and a predominance of the typical green ceramic that characterises Teruel.
