We stayed here on a family holiday, during summer 2013, we chose La nina because of the central location, close to the beach, and because it offerd half board option.
The rooms are a little worn, but clean and tidy, we had booked two double rooms, but due to a mixup, we stayed in a 3+1 room the first night, the second night we got the 2+2 we had booked, nor really a problem but still a little annoying.
The hotel is situated at a little sideroad from the central walking street and there are some noise from the street, when busses is loading and unloading turists, which happens at all houers of the day, and night. Bee sure to have closed the windows at night, because it can bee quite noisy.
We had chosen the half board option, the food is fine and during the week we stayed there was a nice variation in the dishes, a nice selection at a wery reasonable price.
We had a great holiday and enjoyed our stay wery much.

This was an overnight stay as we had booked a stay in Blue sea la pinta over the road but they had over booked and so we were given a room here until one was available in la pinta.

First impressions were terrible the rooms are dated and smelly, we were given room 16 on ground floor and so our balcony view was a wall and a tree trunk.

The wardrobe smelt as if someone had died in there and so we didnt put any clothing in it as we didnt want our stuff smelling of it. the bathroom was ok and well proportioned with bath, shower and sink.

contstant noise from reception and people walking past the front door, room had air con but i wouldnt call it cold if seemed like it needed a re-gas.

room had a tv which had one channel on it in german

noticed a rat climbing down an outer wall and dissapearing behind a air con unit outside wish i had my camera handy at the time as they would be getting health inspectors visiting

hotel is full of germans except for the people that are waiting for a room in la pinta
I wouldnt board my dog at this hotel it is that poor and i feel deeply sorry for anyone who has the misfortune to have to stay here

Room Tip: if you have the misfortune to stay here ask for a high level room as they will have better views

We travelled to Cala Millor in May 2012. The resort itself is an hour drive from the airport and is mainly aimed at German tourists.

We were due to stay in the Hotel Blue sea La Pinta which is directly opposite the La Nina but due to a water problem at this hotel we were moved to sleep in the La Nina. However we were to use the facilities in the La Pinta for eating drinking etc.

We were given 2 rooms on the third floor which on opening the door we were met with a strange smell. The rooms were very dated and in need of modernising.

We went to reception to ask if they had any other rooms and the staff were very helpful and gave us 2 new rooms on the 2nd floor. They weren't any better but lacked the smell. It was only for 3 nights so we didn't make any more fuss.

The rooms them self are a fair size with a balcony. The balcony had not been swept in the new room and was a bit of a mess. The bed linen looked like it was about 20years old. There was no hairdryer. There was a small TV which did not have any english channels.(the sun was shining so that did not matter, you dont come on holiday to watch TV)

The bathroom was clean and there was a bath and shower. The shower did vary temperature from really hot to freezing cold all the time.

I think the hotel had just re opened after the winter so all the wooden furniture had been oiled so we found ourselves with greasy hands.

The room was clean and was cleaned every day.

The hotel itself seemed very quiet and we ended up using the pool at this hotel as it was very quiet and secluded.

There seemed to be a lot of maintenance going on in the hotel at the time we were there from painting and cutting of shrubs etc. Probably in preparation for the peak season.

I cant comment on the food or drinks as we did not use them at this hotel. we peaked in to dinner and it did look like a limited choice.

All in all we had a fine stay at this hotel although would not rush back. The staff seemed friendly but many of them did not speak any English.

This hotel is not a British ran hotel nor are any of the guests British, the staff mainly speak german and all food is geared towards the german holidaymakers occupying this hotel. My husband had a run in with the staff as i was sitting at the pool before the cafe opened with a bottle of water and my inhaler as i was suffering from a chest infection - i laid down to sunbathe and woke up because a lady was in my bag taking my water from me, when i explained that the cafe was closed and i was merely taking my medication i was greeted with the familiar reply "MY ENGLAND NO GOOD". Maid service could not be faulted as the room although very small and the TV didnt work it was kept clean. We had breakfast once as it is geared towards the germans food-wise. I am only sorry no-one put anything on here before i went as i would have changed - my poor 9 year old son felt a bit left out cause he couldnt play with the other kids because no-one was British. When we left the lady behind the desk couldnt even ask us if everything was ok she just stood there !!!!! We are seasoned holidamakers and go abroad up to 3 times per year and i can honestly say that i wouldnt go back to stay here eve if it was free !!! At 640.00 euros B&B for a week it wasnt worth it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room: OK, small but comfy with a nice terrace. Kind of stale smell. Small bathroom. Everything clean. Air-con was OK.
Staff: Very nice, always smiling and ready to help. They don't speak english, just native Spanish and very good German.
Guests: Mostly german, no one loud or anything.
Food: Good variety. A little bit repeating, but for 10 days, it was just OK. You have to pay for drinks extra (0,5 litre of water is for € 2,6)
Internet: Just one computer in the lobby. 15 min. for € 1 (this made us feel historical)
Pool: Small but deep and very nice and clean with sunbeds and parasols. You can't bring your own drinks to the pool.
Beach: Just a small block away. Very, very nice beach, clean. It was crowded, but where isn't... Surrounded by big hotels, but that's just Mallorca..
Surroundings: The hotel is on a nice promenade with many shops, bars, pubs and discos. No real (Ibiza-like) parties, but many places with OK music and drinks for good prices. We liked bar Hollywood.
Trips: We've had borrowed a car and travelled to Palma, Capdepera, Artá (with Ses Paises) and Cap de Formentor (google the places, they're worth it!)

Room Tip: Rooms with a view to the promenade could be louder. We've had the 'rear-view' and it was...

Having used this hotel since 1973, and, stayed there with my wife at least 20 times, I can
honestly say , it could not be faulted.
It is run by a family - the reception staff are all family members - the bar and dining room are supervised by family members - even the cleaning, gardening, and, maintenance,
are supervised by family members.
So, this means that guests are given the very best of service.
In recent years, the hotel has catered for mainly German guests, but, I have not found
this a problem, as, I spend most of my time visiting some of the many options there are
available in Cala Millor, and, La Nina is central to them all, and, when I am in the hotel,
the other guests have always been very friendly.
I wiil be going back there as often as I am able.
