“Excellent choice in Cala Millor for various reasons”
Reviewed 28 April 2013

Very modern hotel with large rooms and spacey balconies. Very good beds. Absolutely quiet location close to the beaches (150m). Very nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds. Indoor pool and gym also available, but we did not use it.
Very good choices at breakfast and also for dinner. Since the quality of most restaurants in Cala Millor is not really convincing we recommend strongly to book half pension for an incredibly small amount of money (7 EUR!!!). At the time of our stay (end of April) the price-quality ratio was excellent!
Hotel is very children-friendly, so we recommend it strongly for families too. Plenty of road parking space in the vicinity (at least in April).

Room Tip: Rooms with a balcony towards the South or Southwest overlooking the pool area are particularly pleas...

Stayed here 15th- 21st april with my wife & daughter.
We were really looking forward to staying here after reading the positive reviews on tripadvisor and we were suitably impressed !.
check in was swift, and we were made to feel very welcome by the male receptionist, and he had the bell boy take our luggage to our room, which we haven't encountered in many a year in a hotel abroad, so good start to our holiday.
Requested high floor, sea view, which we duly allocated ( room 1503- 5th floor).
These rooms overlooking the sea are the fantastic junior suites, very spacious, comfortable AND amazingly clean, which were cleaned to perfection every day, well done room maids !. The view from the balcony was great, beach/ sea/ mountain view, spacious balcony however, if you want a huge balcony, ask for rooms on either end of sea facing rooms eg; 1501/ 1502/ 1526/ 1527 .
Pool area; lovely pool, although cold, once you get in it's not too bad ! , masses of comfortable sun loungers - over 200 of them ( and very comfortable mesh type ones),the pool area is a great sun trap, you will have full on sunshine from about 9a.m till after 7p.m (at present) .
The pool bar is again spacious, masses of tables & chairs, as well as the bar, if you are all inclusive, there is slush available - help yourself , ice cream & sandwiches
FOOD;.we went AI,so all food & drink included -breakfast was nice, good choice, however no English sausages - boo hoo !.
Our main gripe regarding breakfast - and this is a first for any hotel we have frequented , was the plate size , tea plates to put your cooked breakfast on ehh ? - spoon of scrambled egg, spoon of beans, 2 strips of bacon and the plate was full, and eating from it was a chore rather than a pleasure, we wrote this down on the comment card in the restaurant, but lets see what happens.
Lunch; good choice, salads , steak, fish etc cooked to order, fruit, cakes, ice cream etc.
Evening dinner; again wide choice , good tasty food, spacious and comfortable restaurant, divided into two parts, main & conservatory, cooler in the latter bit.
All of the waiters are brilliant, very smart, professional, friendly & nothing is too much bother for them, very impressed !.
Evening entertainment; kids hour 8 30- 9 30, the two hosts really get them involved, especially the guy he was so enthusiastic. The next hour was family entertainment, not evryones cup of tea, but we enjoyed it none the less.
The cala millor park deserves a special mention regarding the cleanliness as we found EVERY section of the hotel absolutely immaculate, could not fault it in any way (and we always find faults in other establishments).
almost forgot, indoor pool small, but warm, tiny gym, spa room, but never used this.
so, to summarise, great hotel in great location, few mins from beach, management & staff superb, cleanest hotel ever, no hesitation in recommending the cala millor park to friends/ family.
p.s gents, make sure you wear LONG trousers for evening dinner, one guest was asked to leave the restaurant for having 3/4 length trousers on, so be aware, they stick to their rules here, and good on them too!.

Maybe my expectations were a little too high. I booked this very last minute fed up with being frozen so I didn't do my usualy OCD levels of checking. This is a nicely refurbed hotel (although the bizarre 'wood effect' sinks are showing signs of wear and the cheap laminate flooring makes for noisy overhead neighbours. Fortunately the ones above me had the courtesy to remove shoes, I presume, so after some initial clattering it would be very quiet). The staff everywhere were lovely, the location is good, very close to the nicest bit of the beach IMO, and enough cafes and restaurants nearby to go out to, some with fab views of the bay. The grounds are quite small and the outdoor pool would be rammed in high season (but you are very near a superb beach).

I had a standard room which was small but OK with a small balcony. Not a problem if you're going to be out and about most of the time as I was but not a room to linger and relax in. My bigger problem - which wouldn't affect everyone - was that being low season, the aircon wasn't operational. The weather however was pretty warm meaning I had to leave the balcony door open all night - the room was quite stuffy and sticky - and even then it was too hot to sleep well. The room I got also overlooked the rubbish areas of a couple of other hotels (and a side road with a partial seaview, so not as bad as it sounds!). For some reason they did a lot of rubbish collection/dumping in the small hours - 11.30pm, 1,30 am and one night at 3 am with a noisy truck, complete with beeping and crashing bottles! As a result I was exhausted during the day. It's a shame because it's a hotel I'd seriously consider going back to but would be nervous of getting such a noisy room again. At the bargain price I paid including half board, I could live with it, but at normal prices £80/night plus it would not be satisfactory at all.

Families are well catered here esp if on All Inclusive, and even as a solo visitor, I did not feel unwelcome or out of place, but I thought an extra £20 a day for AI quite steep and anyway it's really nice to get out to some of the local cafes/restaurants. They're good and the ones overlooking the beach and bay really do have a holiday feel.

Food was good - not gourmet but the evening meal which I found better than breakfast unusually, was fine - plenty of salads, veg, desserts and freshly cooked meat dishes like steak, lamb or roast pork, which were surprisingly tasty and tender. Also the wait staff were universally excellent - even though they are only really clearing tables and serving drinks they were friendly and would greet you even if they weren't serving you that particular day. One or two of them did struggle with English as this is a predominantly German hotel, but you get there in the end! The others had enough English for the occasional brief chat. Very unusual in a buffet environment where I've often found the wait staff understandably a bit surly. I did find you needed to get a table by about 7.30 pm or wait till after 8 so in high season it must be a bit of a bunfight. Breakfast seemed pretty evenly spread out - but even at 9,30 am there was still plenty of fresh stuff being served. Coffee and tea are also help yourself which is great, if like me you like both to get started in the am!

My tip roomwise to overcome the noise problem would be to ask for a room overlooking the pool area or if you can, go for junior suites which have larger balconies and better seaviews and face away from the rubbish area mentioned.

I would seriously consider going back, especially off season, providing I could get a quiet room. Cala Millor was very surprisingly nice; there are buses and boats to other spots like Porto Christo, the Drach caves (well worth doing), Alcudia and Cala Rajadta (prob wrong spelling). Or you can hire a car for a couple of days - driving is pretty easy round the area. For Brits this is undeniably a very German area but did not, for me, detract. Most cafe/shop staff seemed to be able to cope with my dodgy Spanish and their 'tourist' English.

Punta d'Amer is close by, about a half hour walk along the coastal path - do make time for it - there's a cafe and spectacular views. I only left an hour not realising this, which isn't enough time.

Finally there is free wifi and a Spa (no time to take advantage of). There is evening entertainment (not my cup of tea) but again, there are tons of places you can go to for drinks after dinner, some venues with live music which given the setting is what I'd recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for pool view or a junior suite

Good location, great beds, awesome showers, some rooms have generous sized balconies. Food is good. Went in April. Hotel had heaters off, we were cold. Covered patio had only one heater, which was broken. Cala millor park does not have the 4 star ambiance , nor the 4 star quality accommodations. Great entertainment for children mainly. One spectacular flamenco show. Going mid summer would have been a better choice. Not a cozy hotel, but very practical . Great for children.

Room Tip: Ocean view

A bit far from the airport, but very good hotel. Not much food was wasted in the restaurant. People with kids or pensioners from Germany & UK mainly. Close to the beach. Staff friendly. Swimming pools good.

This hotel is suberb in in all aspects. We traveled with a 2 months baby and a 6 uear old boy.
Food is superb and variated each day and also with a gigantic buffet.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Our 6 year old boy loved the mini club even though he doesnt speak the languages. All staff speak spanish, english and german at least. Some french and other languages too.
Indoor pool is awesome for spring or autumn stay.
Playground, soccer court and beach volley court and big outdoor pool area.
Good entertainment and minidisco for the kids every night.
Entire hotel newly renovated.
Free and fast wifi everywhere at the hotel.
I couldnt recoomend this hotel more, its a gem.
