Just returned from this hotel after spending 7 nights. Beautiful hotel which is impeccably clean and maintained. The pool is fantastic with excellent gardens. Sun loungers cannot be reserved until 10 a.m. and there are always spare loungers available through the day.
Fabulous breakfast however on arriving at 3 am it would have been nice to have had access to a hot drink after traveling through the night.. Entertainment in the evening leaves a little to be desired. Beach is a 2 min walk from rear garden exit of the hotel
The resort is fabulous and only a short walk with some great restaurants and ample shops. We would recommend 1) La Sangria restaurant in the main shopping area and 2) Sa Caleta which can be found at the very far end of the resort on the sea front. Both of these restaurants offered excellent food and service.
Overall a relaxing holiday.

Just returned from 10 days at this hotel today 2/09/13. Hotel standard was everything most reviewers wrote. We had a suite as there were three of us. This effectively gave us two separate rooms, perfect. Strongly recommend half board as the evening meal is an experience. It is a superb buffet with a grill operating for freshly cooked fish and meats. Loads of other dishes on offer if preferred. Snack and drink prices are reasonable for a 5star hotel. Grounds and pool superb. On previous comments that I read before we went I noted that a very few were critical of Cala Millor itself. My first impressions were to agree until I explored more. Everything is there for a good family holiday. Good beach, nice promenade to the left facing the sea. Nice country walks to the right. Bicycle hire, car hire, scooter hire and horse riding. In fact I would suggest something for everyone. BUT THE QUALITY OF THE HOTEL MADE THE HOLIDAY.

A beautiful hotel, excellent food and facilities. Staff were both friendly and professional. Pool very clean. wellness centre really good. gym facilities very good. Hotel animation team and activities they ran just great. particular thanks to Danny. Would recommend. Only one suggestion for improvement, we arrived at 3am and in our room was a bowl of salad, fruit and a sandwich. A drink of water and biscuit we all felt would have sufficed. The hotel considered that the food in the room constituted our evening meal. Firstly, it was the next day that we arrived, and secondly on our final night, pick up for airport run was not scheduled until 11:20pm. We were not allowed to go into dining room without paying 36 E pp. The manager did arrange for us all to have a bar meal at a reduced cost and the bar meal was lovely.
We all felt that the evening meal on the final night before we left would have been better to have had in the dining room.. We all hope the hotel will consider this suggestion. At 3am in the morning after being up all night, we doubted that many people would want to sit down and eat what was provided in the rooms.
Thomson rep was never seen during holiday. Welcome meetings were every day however the meeting was a ten minute walk to a different hotel. A rep once per week in our hotel, even for just half hour would have improved our experience.

A very classy hotel. Fantastic breakfast and dinner-absolutely first class restaurant and first rate service. The staff were very friendly. The hotel is very spacious. The grounds are beautiful and sitting in the sun in the solarium by the pool was so relaxing. The hotel is a short walk from the beach and the beautifully clear and warm Med sea. Cala Millor is a short walk away and the choice of shops is plentiful. Its a quiet resort and this hotel is very upmarket. Would love to go back and properly explore the island of Mallorca-it was a stress free lovely holiday and only 2 hour flight from the UK. Free wifi access throughout was a huge plus-thank you Hipocampo!!!!

I am still in resort as I type- the beauty of free WIFI access throughout this rather splendid hotel. Here for one week in August- package with Thomson. This is a lovely hotel-expensive but you get what you pay for. The hotel is elegant and spotlessly clean with well maintained gardens and a lovely large pool situated in the garden. You can really chill in this hotel- it is so uncomplicated and stress free. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. When you arrive you are given towel cards to exchange for towels to use on the sun beds for which there is no extra charge. Even at the height of the season there was no rush to grab a spot- there are plenty available and no reserving until 10am which is a really good idea.

We are staying half board- the food- one word-fantastic! Breakfast is absolutely delicious-huge choice and the evening buffet is awesome. I am fussy but the food in this hotel is first rate and classy and the sweets are the best we have ever tasted!!! You will pile on the pounds if you are not careful - it really is a treat.

The hotel is one two sites separated by a road- our rooms were on the side of the pool and gardens-we had a suite. It was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The rooms are not luxurious but perfectly functional and the bathrooms are large and spacious and have fresh flowers which I thought was a nice touch. For the British who like their tea- you need to bring a travel kettle with you. This hotel would appear to specialise in accommodating disabled guests which is too its considerable credit.

The hotel has a spa which is very nice- you can simply wander in and out and can book treatments if you want one.

Agree there isn't much to see or do in Cala Millor. Car hire appeared to be plentiful and the roads well maintained. The beach is very nice and stretches quite a way- it is a short walk from the hotel. The Mediterranean Sea is a perfect temperature in August. I took an excursion and dive with Albatros Dive Centre in Cala Bona- this was a first rate dive centre and I can highly recommend it. The excursion was to Pirates Cave - it was awesome but strenuous and not for the faint hearted!

Would I return to this hotel - yes. It is upmarket- mixed nationalities-uncomplicated and relaxing with great food.

We are not in the habit of writing reviews, but we have just returned from a week's stay at the Hipocampo Palace and felt compelled to write one! The hotel lived up to every photograph and every positive comment listed on Tripadvisor. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending anyone to holiday here.

Family holiday for a week in July travelling with child age 6 months. Rooms are of decent size with sufficient storage space for clothes. Large pool with separate splash pool for younger children. Multiple clay tennis courts available for hire at reasonable rate but wouldn't recommend playing at midday!

Stayed half-board so breakfast and evening meal were supplied - large selection of buffet items with varying themes for each night. Hot plate where fresh fish/meat can be prepared to your tasting. One member of the party has coeliac disease and staff made every effort to point out what was gluten-free - even prepared fresh gluten-free bread for us.

Evening entertainment each night although a little cheesy at times. Large wedding was hosted by the hotel on our last night which looked great, until the disco kicked off at 3am and left the hotel vibrating. Only sour note to what was otherwise a fabulous time.
