My husband, son (11) and I have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Talyot Hotel. First impressions didnt have the "wow" factor for me, however this hotel did prove me wrong! All areas for the public was kept very clean. We had a sea view which was lovely. The balcony was bigger than average with a great view of the promanard which is on the front. Bedrooms were of an average size with plenty of storage space for all our clothes. There was a fridge and a safe in the room for hire - 2 euros a day each, which we done. Maids worked really hard to clean our room and she was very pleasant. Bathroom was ok, shower over the bath, though, looking a little tired but very clean, hairdryer in bathroom. T.v. in bedroom with very limited channels but who watchs telly on holiday? Tea making facilities also in bedroom. Pool area has lots of sunbeds, but some people did put towels on beds - think its the norm. Not enough umbrellas though. There is a small snack bar near the pool selling tea, coffee, ice-creams etc. Not overly priced however staff member working this area is not very friendly so was a little off-putting going to fetch anything. Most of the bar staff were nice enough except one. Reception check-in was smooth and staff very nice. Hotel is in the middle of Cala Millor and Cala Bona. Plenty of shops in Cala Millor and a nice beach 4 euros each for sun lounger and umbrella. Cala Bona quieter and a pebble beach. We went on the Sea Cat to Porto Cristo - 20 euros each adult, 8 euro child. Takes about 3 hours. Also try the land train to Sa Coma - 4 euro 50 each. Entertainment in hotel was ok. Ususal bingo, disco, spanish dancers (worth watching). Sante done the entertainment and the games during the day. He was brilliant but not pushy. Children loved him and he remembered everyones names! Booked already for next year. If hiring a fridge, fetch your drinks from the local bip supermarket, just at the back of the hotel - much cheaper than the spar.

Room Tip: Seaview get sun in morning, pool view get sun in afternoon. Pool view rooms are quiter in the night...

Me & my extended family of 10 including 3 kids age range from 6 - 64 have just returned from the Talayot & we could not fault this hotel when reading reviews we were a bit unsure as people claim it to be a older generation hotel but this is not the case there is a mixture of ages & everyone was friendly.
Location was perfect inbeween Cala bona & Cala millor both in walking distance with loads of shops & restaurant bars & beach was a 5 min walk.
Rooms where clean & we had 4 rooms on the 2nd floor & 2 of us managed to get a corner room with 2 patio doors & extra large balcony room number 202 & 218 which was lovely & not to mention waking up to the sea view every morning. Rooms have tea making facilities & you can buy tea packs from reception there is a fridge which you can hire for 31 euro,s for 2 wks & you get 3 euro,s back at the end.
Pool was nice & you never had trouble getting a sunlonger the small & big kids loved it & the pool bar has a happy hour where a pint is 1.50 euro,s.
The food was lovely & good variety & each night the chef was there to carve the meat, By far the best food we have ever had in a hotel
Now I have to mention that all the reception staff /waiters /chefs e.t.c at this hotel are so lovely & friendly & nothings to much trouble for them & they make you feel really welcome & I have got to mention Sante he is such fab guy who is in charge of the activitys & entertaiment & always trys to involve everyone the kids loved him. Most nights there is a bingo & quiz to start off then singing acts or spanish dancers. You can see why people go back year after year.To be honest none of us wanted to come home.
All in all we all had a fab time at this hotel & would definatly return.

Room Tip: I would recommend paying extra for the sea view room although you can get a side sea view or a pool...

My 13 yr old son and I were booked for a wk in cala bona and on arrival found it fully booked and were taxi ed over to Hotel Talayot as an alternative. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was fantastic - on a corner so we had a balcony on 2 sides. The food was delicious with lots of choice. You had the same table in the dining room for the duration of your stay so you got to meet other guests. The dining room staff were very freindly and they all said hello, even the chef! There was lots of entertainment and I was concerned being above the entertainment area that our sleep would be disturbed but it never was. I would most definitely recommend this hotel for any age group with or without families. We had a really enjoyable holiday, very relaxing and I will certainly go back there again. I will also go there alone when my son is older and not wanting to be with me.

Room Tip: We had a corner room and so had a balcony on 2 sides so we always had the sun. Very relaxing to sit...

Booked this hotel as the stay to our cruise and stay with thomson. Was more excited about the cruise than the stay as I had never been before. Sailed on the island escape ship was ok but not brilliant and certainly not what I thought of as a cruise, it was benidoirm on the water. Which is great if thats what you want and expect. Arrived at the hotel after a week cruise and was very pleasantly suprised by the position in the pretty resort the fantastic water(been to the carribean and just as good) the lovely huge beach and best of all the fantastic staff at this hotel. Everyone looked after us as if itwas a pleasure

Room Tip: Top floor we had was room 517 excellent view and huge double furnished balcony

My husband and i have just returned from the talayot and found the hotel very good it is clean staff friendly even the chefs would say hello, the food was good and best of all you are allocated your table for the length of your stay so you get to know people, the hotel had all ages and is in an exellent location we did not see anyone drunk or here any swearing at all when we were out and about. The hotel were all english guest, we thought the pool area could do with some renovation as their are lots of trees but we used to go up to the balcony above the front of the hotel were their was only eight sunbeds it was lovely and peacefull and looking at the sea.the drinks were the same price as the bars in cala bona and cala millor which is rare for hotels. The only prob we had was we was put in a room near the lift and it was very noisy we arrived at 05 20 am and we asked to change room because of this problem with the lift and we had to pay 15 eros for the room to be cleaned that was the hotel rule although we had only been in it two hours any how we moved and the room was bigger but the balcony was smaller we didnt mind at all and we overlooked the pool we had a lovely time and we may reyurn in the future for a three star hotel it was excellent................

Room Tip: ask for a pool veiw as the sea view room cost extra and you can even see the sea from the pool room...

Just come back after 2 weeks in The Talayot, What a great time we had, Our room number 508 was at the back & very large with a big bathroom & ballcony, The aircon was noisy but in 30 degrees of heat it was much needed, The room was very clean with fresh sheets & towels changed regular. The resteraunt was very good with a very good chose for breakfast & dinner, can be a boreing after 2 weeks but we still had plenty to eat. The pool though not large was nice & warm but could get full with the familys that were stayinh there, ( Shame it is not an adults only hotel ) There were plenty of sunbeds but you need to get up at 7am to get the best spots, We never went down too early as we always found beds available. Nice little snack bar by the pool & food not bad too, Most of the staff were very pleasant & the reception was very good, anything you needed was done straight away, we never hired the fridge as not needed. Lovely to go on the hotel verander at night lovely & cool, The entertainment was ok but could do with different acts on for the second week. Sometimes the waiters did not come to see if you needed a drink & if you went to the bar to get them they would say sit down & we will bring them over, not that they wanted to spoil you NO it was for their tips which they exspected every round lol, Drinks very cheap & happy hour most nights on certain drinks. In all though it was a great holiday & i would go back again & recccomend it to anyone.

This was my second time at the Hotel Talayot. Again it is spotless and the rooms are well presented if not a little dated although I do believe they have some upgraded rooms available. There have been several reviews about the Talayot being for people over 70. This is not the case as there was a wide variety of ages in the week I stayed there. I would say if you are asking for a single room make sure you get one with a balcony otherwise if will be in the middle of the hotel with no views at all. The food again was great and always very fresh. The only downside to travelling to Majorca is Palma Airport especially in July. It was horrendous. When you get off the plane you have to walk miles and against people coming the other way who were going home. Then we had to wait another one hour for our bags. Apparently they have opened a new arrivals area but I do not know when that will be in full operation and if it will be any better.

Room Tip: All the rooms at the front of the hotel have balconies with great view of Calla Millor beach
