The Don Pedro may not have new upmarket branding, the best of poolside facilities nor the most up to the minute rooms but the stunning location of the hotel, the friendliness of the Staff and the fantastic relaxed atmosphere made for a lovely restful holiday. The food, whilst not the very best nor the most adventurous we have ever experienced on holiday, was more than adequate offering a variety of hot and cold food of an acceptable variety and quality and that which would be expected from a buffet arrrangement.Bedrooms were cleaned daily although the bathroom would definetly benefit from a refurbishment (replace cracked bathside tiles and the corroded mirror plus the presence of an extractor fan would be good) however on the plus side it was always clean !! If anything was a letdown it was the evening entertainment. Cala Da Vincente is in an isolated location and the hotel was very much the hub of the entertainment for our holiday and it was disappointing that of the 7 nights we were there, what we would class as adult entertainment was only provided twice (an Elvis impersonator and a Michael Jackson Dance tribute act) there was however lots of entertainment for younger children and if you like short quizzes, then you will love it. Polensa, Porta Polensa and Alcudia however are only 20 mins away by taxi so I suppose that if we had really wanted to we could have found more entertainment there. We went all inclusive, which obviously includes all drinks (local) and we found these more than acceptable. The hotel also provided us with 2 nice little bonuses.Firstly when we went on daytrips the hotel provided packed lunches and secondly we did not have to buy expensive bottles of drinking water whilst staying there as the Don Pedro provides you with cold water from the cold water siphon in the restauarant ...free of charge ...provided you have your own bottle to put it in! We would definetly go back to the Don Pedro and all in all we had a great time there and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends ...provided they accept that it is in a quiet , but very beautiful, location !

Room Tip: Book a seaview room if you can, the majority of rooms have a sea view but if you don't get on e.. you will definetly be disappointed....avoid the rooms overlooking the pools Take a Hairdryer with you as whilst this is expected in most holiday hotels nowadays ... it is not ...in the case of the Don Pedro!!

We decided to go on a last minute deal with lowcostholidays.com & Ryanair & found this hotel in Mallorca. Previous reviews were good so we thought we would try it out as we wanted an all inclusive low cost sunny/warm break at end of October 2011. We had a good quick & on time flight from Bournemouth & arrived quite late on the Monday night & were picked up at the airport by coach & deposited straight to our hotel - very efficient. We arrived about 10.45pm & we were welcomed by very friendly staff & advised that their were snacks still available in the restaurant & drinks in the bar until midnight (literature says 11pm) so we were pleased about that as otherwise it would have been very tight to avail ourselves of the facilities if it closed at 11pm as advertised!
Our room was basic but clean & we had a lovely little balcony overlooking the bay - very pleasant indeed. It even had an old fashioned TV which could get BBC1 so we didn't even have to miss 'strictly' :)
The weather for the time of year was warm 20 to 23 degrees but not always full sun but still very pleasant - just 1 stormy night!
The meals were very English & most of the guests were English it seemed but the food was good if not a bit 'samey' but OK for a week but we did supplement that with eating out a couple of times as well to get some variety. The free 'drink' was good but you had to pay for 'branded' alcohol drinks like Baileys but the coffee liquer was excellent - shame about the regular coffee tho yuck!! Next time we will bring some Rombouts!! We did manage to find some good coffee 'out & about' though but generally coffee is not Mallorca's strongest point but the views & scenery certainly are!
We decided on spec to hire a car (black Fiesta) for 3 days for 60e from the local car hire place 2 minutes away in the resort (cheaper than doing it direct with the hotel which was 75e). You have to pay 29e for half tank of petrol & you return the vehicle back as empty as possible which is quite difficult to do - we ended up leaving about a quarter of a tank but it was worth it anyway as we got to visit local resorts when we liked & travelled up the slightly unnerving mountain roads but that's another story! There was plenty of parking in the road outside the hotel - no hotel car park.
The plus points: cheap week/reasonable weather/hire car/good food/free alcohol/pleasant staff/great views/good sun terrace/food available & drinks all of the time.
The not so good/could have been better points: very British hotel food/bit dated hotel decor/naff & loud entertainment/TV bit basic - intermittantly working/better bath shower would have been nice/coffee yuck/lights in public area were off most of the time!
It was worth the trip & cost but as we have been to mallorca twice now we would choose somewhere different next time but worth going if you have not been before.

Room Tip: We were on 2nd floor room 228 well away from 'entertainment' which was on ground floor - higher would have still been better tho as it could still be heard up to midnight!

the service in this hotel was very good, the staff friendly and polite (except for one barman) and always busy cleaning and tidying the restaurant and lounge area etc.
the room was basic, clean with a good sized bathroom , though a bit dated, the veranda was nice too, overlooking the pool area. the location is stunning with beautiful views, the local amenities were fine, the local spar shop had all you would need.
the food in the hotel was very good, plenty of it and always fresh. the entertainment was'nt to our taste but the entertainment staff worked relentlessly with the people who did join in, day and night. the staff work long hours in the hotel. the maids were very friendly, very nice people.

The hotel, in a quiet location, was ideal for our type of holiday. The staff were pleasant and helpful. During the week there was a good variety of food. We loved the rocky location but it is not ideal for very young children.
Although, in the near future, the hotel will be in need of updating.

Set in a beautiful location with stunning sea views. Quiet resort, but ideal if you want a relaxing holiday. Free courtesy bus to take you to different resorts - but make sure .you book these A.S.A.P. as they are very popular. Hotel rather 'dated' but kept extremely clean. Entertainment staff and bar staff all work hard to make sure you enjoy your stay. Delicious, well cooked, fresh food served at mealtimes to cater for all tastes, and varied snacks and fresh fruit were available throughout the day, with the added bonus that you could help yourself to beer, wine, soft drinks, and tea and coffee without the need to go to the bar. You MUST try the pina colada slushes! We were treat to a special Spanish farewell meal as we were there on the last day of the season, - which was a really nice touch.
