“Great hotel!”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Just spent 4 days at this hotel in Cala Millor, Mallorca. Excellent staff, very helpful and made us feel welcome. Cala Millor is 1 hour from the airport, but if you talk to the hotel they will organize transportation for you and its very easy. The beds were very comfortable, huge rooms! We had so much extra space and the living room is great! I would suggest a pool side view, we loved that. Each room has a balcony or two...which was very relaxing to sit out there. I would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat. You have a great pool with tons of sun beds or the beach right outside the hotel! The views are beautiful. Cafe Sol is right next to the hotel also- which is a great place to have some drinks, look out into the sea and eat some good food! Thanks for a great stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view and high floor!

Stayed here in august for 2 weeks. The hotel is in a great location right beside a fantastic beach yet walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The pool area is lovely and clean and there are always free sunbeds.Stayed self catering so can not comment on the food, plenty of good supermarkets nearby.Very clean hotel with maid service 6 days a week, clean towels every day if you want them.Staff very friendly and helpful and they all spoke English. If self catering apartment was very well equipped lots of glasses ,dishes pans etc the only thing not provided is a kettle. All rooms seem to have lovely large balconies with a view of the sea.Would recommend Tonis restaurant reasonably priced , delicious and beautifully presented, also the sportsman bar run by an English couple , very friendly place with great karaoke.Would definitely return to the Mercedes.

Stayed last 2 weeks August 2013. If you prefer a quiet hotel then ideally placed at Southern end of Cala Millor strip but not too far away from the action in the evenings. Nice pool area with easy access to the beach and only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Cala Millor's night life. Quiet shady bar area, plenty of beds around the pool (so no need to rush out with a towel in the morning). Self catered so no view on the food other than bar snacks at lunchtime were very good. Helpful attentive staff. Would definitely go back.

Stayed 6th - 12th June 2013.

We arrived pretty late, around 11PM and we did not catch the dinner since it was from 18:30 until 21:30. The check-in went smooth. After we entered the room we found out the staff has prepared a little dinner for us. Two sandwiches, salad and fruit. I really appreciated that.

In the buffet dinner there was plenty of food. There was allways some beef, chicken or pork. Also different fish meals were served every day. Choice of sides, fries, mash potato, hot & cold salads etc. The dinner was fine, but I realised a few times that the soup is made from instant soup mix, which is shame. There are many kinds of desserts, but nothing special. And also fresh fruit is served. If you would like to order a drink, you have to pay for it.

Breakfast was fine, too. There were more kinds of bread and pastry, sausages, hams, vegetable, fruit, etc. Drinks from the breakfast buffet were free (water, juices, milk, chocolatte, coffee).

Apartment was spacious and clean, with a good sized balcony. The kichenette was fully equiped (microwave oven, fridge, cookware, dishes, utensils, but except a classic oven), but we had to buy our own washing-up liquid and sponges. The bathroom was spacious, too. Towells were provided. Bring/buy your own toiletries, there was only a small soap on the basin. We had an apt. for two, but there was a sofa in a separate living room, so it accommodates +1 person. ALL ROOMS HAVE A SEA VIEW.

They charge 6 EUR for a dog per day. Only smaller breeds are accepted (up to 6 kg).

There were some programs and perfomances in the evenings, but we did not attend.

I have read here many UK reviewers complaining about german people. Cala Millor is a totally german resort, so expect mainly germans. Although they are very nice, friendly and chatty.

The beach in Cala Millor is really beautiful and much better than around Palma, where the water is cloudy and not that clear blue. Another nice beaches I would recommend are Alcudia, Playa de Muro, Can Picafort on the east side of the island.

I also recommend you to hire a car at the airpot. Rates are low and there´s a lot to see on the island.

I hope you will enjoy your stay as we did.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a sea view.

Stayed at the Mercedes half board for 2 weeks in August 2012 with wife and 2 children (15 & 12). The hotel is very nice, immaculately clean, and well maintained. The food in the dining room is buffet style and the quality is excellent. The daily children’s entertainment was a guy in a clown outfit who only spoke in German so my kids weren’t interested. There was hotel entertainment most evenings but we preferred to go out because it was pretty poor. The pool is an average size and we could always get sun loungers at any time of the day because most guests would use the beach which is right next door. For internet access there is a pc in Reception which you pay for, and wi-fi is available in the Reception area which you also have to pay for. The most important thing you need to know about this hotel (and Cala Millor) is that it is very German, hence all the German reviews on this site. Apart from one other family we were the only British in the hotel, the remainder were mostly German (about 95%), and because of this the hotel is geared mainly for Germans. The Reception staff spoke in broken English which made conversation very difficult when it came to enquiring about trips, meals, etc., however they all spoke fluent German. The literature in Reception was all in German, and the menu’s for the dining room were in German and Spanish, not English. Regarding previous reviews of “us Brits” not making an effort to socialise with other nationalities, we always smiled and said hello to other guests in the hotel but mostly got no response.

We had a standard one bedroom apartment with sofa beds in the lounge. The balcony overlooked the pool and the sea, which was great (most rooms have at least a sea view). There is a TV in the lounge with one or two English channels, the rest were mostly….you guessed it, German. The kitchenette had a fridge with small ice box, micro wave, hob, cutlery etc. none of which you had to pay extra for, which was a bonus for Mallorca. Overall the rooms are basic, spotlessly clean (cleaned everyday) and well equipped. We enjoyed the holiday but wont be staying at this hotel or resort again mainly because of the clientele, we prefer somewhere a bit more Spanish and a place where people socialise. Cala Millor is a purpose built tourist resort with a lovely long sandy beach, lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. If you are looking for traditional Spanish built properties and narrow cobbled streets this is not the place for you.

By the way this is a 3 star aparthotel, not 4 as shown on tripadvisor.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view and you will get a sea view as well!

After staying at many of the other Hipotels,This Aparthotel is on Par with other hotels in the Group. We found the Apartment SPOTLESS,plenty of clean white fluffy towels, good quality toiletries, nice comfortable clean beds with nice clean fresh sheets.Even though we were only on the 2nd floor,we had a lovely sea view from our balcony, which had a patio table and chairs, and a clothes airer, the kitchen area had a full size fridge, two ring hob,a microwave, full size sink,It was equipt with plenty of utensils, plates, cuttlery and even tea towels, infact everything you would need for a comfortable stay.
On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff, even though it was only 11am, our room was all clean and ready for us,The bathroom, was Modern, immaculate and had been sanitised and sealed,It was of good size, contained toilet bidet, sink vanity unit, full bath with power shower over, plenty of toiletries and good quality towels, hand towels.
We had booked on a half board basis - Breakfast buffet style, polite friendly staff were on hand to welcome us ,a wide variety of food was available and regulary replenished.
Evening meal was good on the first night, freshly prepared and nice and hot, but not so good on the second ,so we would proberly do bed and breakfast next time (personal choice).
The hotel is situated beach front within a few minutes walk of some nice reasonably priced restaurants we went out at night ,bars and entertainment - live music were just a short stroll away. The hotel had some entertainment and a mini disco for the children ,(not adults or older children).
We found that we were the only U.K travellers, most of the other guests were German. The hotel staff arranged menu' s in english and they all made the effort to speak in our language too,in fact nothing was too much trouble for the staff,we were made very welcome here.
As an experienced ex tour guide, I urge all us Brits to make an effort and say" hello" to other nationalities.and be polite to everyone we come across, I was ashamed at times as to how many english,(adults and children), totally ignored other nationalities and made no effort to be polite. The German people staying at our hotel were friendly and really nice, they even shook our hand as they were going home before us,In fact they made our break !. We loved the german music at Tanz bar Joko - just across the road, they really knew how to enjoy themselves and welcomed us to join in as well.
For a nice clean friendly hotel for all ages- some good deals available and as a good base, then I would recommend this aparthotel good for value, family friendly, and close by to restaurants, bars entertainment and literally on the beach.

We visited this hotel when I was a teenager and we really liked it! It’s located almost directly on the beach, near all the shops and restaurants. Plenty of things to see and do, no matter what age you are.

The rooms were very nice and comfortable. We were lucky getting a huge balcony with the most adorable ocean view. The sunsets were just indescribable! I would recommend a sea view room!

The pool area was lovely as well; a huge pool, palm trees and lots of sun chairs. All this overlooking the beach and the ocean. Very relaxing in deed!

The restaurant was clean and nice and apparently quite popular amongst the guests, since it was always full.

I would gladly recommend this hotel!
