Really nice hotel 5 minutes from the beach. Nice swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers. The hotel also had a good gym and spa. The breakfast had plenty to choose from although the hot food was a little bit greasy. All of the staff were very friendly and happy to help and our rooms were cleaned every day. This resort is catered for german tourists and there were hardly any British there. The only real nag I would have abouth the resort is that the transfer from the airport was two and a half hours and actually took longer than our flight.

Me and my husband had recently just got married and without any honeymoon plans we decided to book a short mini moon to Palma de Mallorca, one of favourite places to visit. We wanted to explore somewhere different so we stayed on the resort of Cala Ratjada.
We booked the hotel online and were looking forward to our week together, upon arrival to the hotel we checked in and settled into our studio.
The studio was a little basic and certainly not modern like it was quoted on the hotels website, but we made do in the hope it would get better. We had a TV in our room which was about the size of a box of cornflakes and from the 1930's era,to top it off you had to pay a deposit of 10 euros to receive the remote control!!
The bathroom was very spacious and the was the only thing I liked about the room to be honest.
We had booked all inclusive so we wouldn't have to thing about where to go to eat, but the food was below average. The vegetables were always frozen, there was always the same desserts, we expected being so close to the sea to have fresh fish most days but we only had one day of fish the whole week.
The outside and pool area were very nice and perfect for children with small children. The Spa was also very nice.
The evening entertainment was shocking!!!! It consisted of ONE very enthusiastic lady starting off with the kids club which was just her playing the same CD every night for the kids to dance too then they would play one game of musical chairs. There was never more than 4 kids taking part.
Then some nights not all there was BINGO so our entertainment was finished by 9pm and if there was no kids club then there was no entertainment at all.
This was the worst Entertainment I had ever seen even Butlins would have been better!

As well as our honeymoon it was also my husbands birthday during our stay at the hotel, so I went to enquire about getting a birthday cake to be brought to him during our evening dinner. It was like I'd asked for 1,000 euros or something by the look on the guys face at the reception, he said he would ask the hotel manager. They came back to me and said it would cost 20 euros for them to make the cake!!! I couldn't believe it I didn't mind paying but 20 euros and plus the fact it was our honeymoon too!!!!

Plus Cala Ratjada itself was a pretty town but with nothing to do!
The only consolation was that the beach was one of the nicest I've ever seen turquoise sea and white sand, perfect!

This is not a hotel and resort I would be recommending the hotel is rated as a 4 star and in my opinion it was more like a basic 3 star. I think the nice picturesque location and the Indoor Spa boosts it a little but nowhere near 4 star hotel quality. We were hugely disappointed because we had expectations of a 4 star hotel and paid for a 4 star too!!!!

So please don't waste your money on this very disappointing hotel in Cala Ratjada!

Was a little apprehensive as some reviews stated it was poor quality. However, was a fab location, room was fine, ok not Sandals standard, but also a lot cheaper, great value for money. Very friendly and although was mainly German speaking, would try and speak English, always included. Were brilliant in helping us sort out food and bottles for our 10 month old. Definitely recommend. Minor problem with Ants, but had our own spray.

Quite a distance from airport. would suggest pay a little more for transfer, we paid the cheapest and took over 2 1/2 hours by coach, on way back had a mini bus and only took an hour.

We had the all inclusive package. When we showed up at the check in which was a little slow. They only had one person handling check in's but it was kind of busy and the other person saw this and remained in their office unconcerned. They did have a person there that was able to speak 4 different languages which was good as our German is limited. When we got to the room, the room was smaller then we expected even though these were Apartments but that was not the big deal the biggest thing we noticed was how run down the place was. It was clean but you could tell that there was a lot of partying over the years going on. The rooms were not very stylish and the TV (for those with weak eyesight) looked like about a 12" inch screen and only in the living room portion of the apartment. the hotel could use a make over and come into the 21st century definitely not a 4 star hotel as advertised. The A/C also did not work and was out the whole time we were there which made hot nights very uncomfortable for my wife. That could have been a disaster if the temperature was in it's hotest season. Lucky for us it was spring and temps hovered between 60 and 80 degrees. In my opinion it was a very, very weak 3 star, definitely a 2 star hotel though, basically you get what you pay for. We chose the hotel because of the other good reviews of the hotel mostly from Germans. I don't know what they saw so great about the hotel but from someone who has stayed in all inclusive hotels at different locations this was definitely on the bottom of the list. European standards for rooms tend to be different than Americans and I wouldn't say better or worse to be politically correct I would just say different. As far as the all inclusive package was concerned, starting with the food service, breakfeast, lunch, and dinner was very basic and bland. There were a lot of processed foods served and there was always the occaisional mystery meat which was served at lunch and dinner. The eggs at the breakfest were terrible. I cannot describe them with the exception to say they tasted close to something I ate when I was on military field exercises. We stayed a total of 4 days there and we ate just one breakfest and one lunch. We looked at the dinner menu and saw it was basically the same so we decided to eat out. In between meals (snacks) are sandwiches and the mystery type at that. The bar has all you can drink draft San Miguel and various cheap wines and liquiors. The draft San Miguel beer was about the best thing they had at the bar. We didn't even ask about any of the call brand liquiors because the atmosphere was almost like "don't ask." All of the games and the pool table was coin operated. The spa operated at strict specific hours which were between 1030 and 1800 prime touring around town or beach time so it was not utillized much...So much for the all inclusive... Bottom line if you stay at the hotel don't spend you money on the all inclusive because your wasting it. The hotel is in a great location and you can eat and drink way better food at a very reasonable prices only a short walk (5 minutes) from the hotel. We had a great time in Mallorca outside the hotel. The city of Cala Rajada is very nice and historical and there is plenty of cheap shopping. The beach is beautiful and very close also about 5 minutes walk. I also recommend renting a car and getting to different locations around the island. Car rental is cheap and will make you forget about staying in bad accomodations, it did for us. The hotel is good if you want a cheap apartment hotel at a good location with a kitchenette to cook your own food especially if you don't mind lower end hotels... but, if you have high expectations of an all inclusive like in Jamaica at Couples or Sandals resorts forget it. For those people expecting that I would not recommend this place to them.
