Do not go hear! I understand this is a 2* hostel but! the shower is only available first thing in the morning and from 7 until 11 in the even. Although it offers a la cart you get toast for breakfast and what ever they could scrap together for dinner! There was no vegetarian option the food was just awful! There was no toilet seat and the shower it self leaked every wear years old hardly working! The whole place is a night mare do not go there!

My daughter and I arrived at about 02.30. Tuesday, 03/09/13. There were Brits and Northern Irish all chatting quietly on the terrace. All lovely. We were given our key and were pleasantly surprised by room 302 with balcony with 2 chairs. In 7 days we only missed warm water when a lot of people arrived on the Saturday night and Sunday morning. Then it was either too cold or hot to shower. 2 missed showers, with the free sea beach showers, 26 - 31 degrees and local bar/ seapool/ restaurant about 7 mins walk from the hostal. Where the sink comes with no plug. The shower loss was not a hardship. That was 5 days into our trip. It is not worthy, yet, of stars but it is a base. My daughter and I booked 10 days before and had half board, flights and room with a view for £149 ,plus £90 in admin and the good value airport transfer. We enjoyed HF as a base. The food needs another 200 characters .My daughter and I would love the buy the place. We said that to each other on leaving .It just needs TLC and good management. The staff would be happier if they could get to sleep or have proper time off. Some have not had a day of in months. Lucas and the lovely bilingual Scots lass and a super German lad seem to do all the waiting and bar work. 24/7. Lucas bearing the brunt of the donkey's load. The housekeeping was fine. They made my daughter's bed each day. And remade my attempts. I wish the hostal well. It needs to be a great hostal, not a poor hotel. Do food but not half board. Or to be more honest, the owners need to learn a little about budgeting of good local food which it tasty, instead of safe powder and jar adequate sauces. Given the limited but fair meal times of 90 mins for the drop in -sitting ,a bit of imagination and seasoning could have helped get the food across.Get someone who likes to cook on a tiny budget to start, for 64 people , I am guessing here, twice a day and it would be lovely to do half board. Not a chef ,a person who loves to cook ! P.S. The current cook's potatoes are fab and there is no other real veggie option. The salad had chopped ham.We saw a very disappointed mid to senior lady get cross when offered more veg instead of the burger. Bit like France for my veggie mates. My girl and I were out and about. We didn't bother with toast at the hostal. We got up late,( post work stress) and bought awesome long custard doughnut things each. We went somewhere on a bus and ate cheaply . 3 nights out of 7 we ate downstairs. Otherwise we nibbled on salami, nuts, bread, cheese, fruit and pastries on the balcony. We got to watch the life of the neighbourhood at the back of the hostal. Granny sitting was relaxing to watch and the lives of the neighbours and us taking our Sundowns. The Hostal Flamenco did what it said on the tin........PPS I have seen several reviews regarding camping being better elsewhere. I understand. I like camping. There is no decent camping on the isles apparently. Volcanic. Bugger for the tent pegs, I am guessing. X

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room. A previous traveller suggested this and it paid off. We stayed at the back...

In need of refurbishment,How ever had a lovely time.Room cleaned every day,bed linen and towels changed mid week.Plenty of hot water during times stated, cold rest of the time.Food basic but tasty and well presented.Staff more then friendly and helpful. We didn't pay a lot for this holiday and was value for money, would go back again. To those who have written bad reviews on this Hostel,if you don't research your holiday before booking you deserve what you get !!!.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony are much smaller than those that don't.The views from the balcony are not tha...

This was truly a nightmare experince for us ,on our arrival at 3.00am we we told by one of the guests staying there to get back on the bus we laughed but after our check-in our laughter turned to sorrow. We were given a room which had no toliet or shower and were told ours was down the corridor which was open to other guests .As we prepared for our shower next morning to our horror dirty towels were lying over the bathroom floor which we had not used . We complained and two days later got a different room with a toliet and shower . Getting hot water was like gold dust in this nightmare ,one warm shower in my 2 week stay .Now food was diabolical we did have a choice you eat it or don`t ,breakfast made by yourself line up for toast and jam .Dinner which mainly consisted of rice ,pasta ,salad ,tinned meats ,diced potatoes ,which was normaly served cold ,by the way you have to keep the same knife an fork for each meal ,Dessert was yoghurt or creme caramel every day . NOW health and safety live wires exposed in rooms eg sockets , we had to take our cold showers in the dark as the light bulb in our bathroom kept blowing ,God forbid if a fire broke out in this nightmare no smoke alarms and only one exit as the main door was locked until 8.30am .The hand rail on the stairs was coming away from the wall ,When we booked our holiday we were asked sea view or pool view but guess what there's no POOL to view . The only good thing from our holiday was the friends we made , My advice to avoid disappointment book elsewhere and enjoy your holiday to the max Lucas and Fiona the staff are great guys tho !!!!!!

Just back from the HOSTAL FLAMENCO in C'an Picafort and want to warn you
about staying there.First the good points .
1 The Staff are Freindly and try to look after you
2 The Room was as expected and cleaned every day except Sundays, Lucky here I Guess
Now the Bad Points
1 Upon arival I found that the LIFT, one LIFT and not LIFTS as Decribed on internet
ONLY CARRIED ONE PERSON AT A TIME so I had to make serval trips with our cases to the SECOND FLOOR, I am almost 70ty and my wife 71 we had to then climb the stairs to get
to our room at 3.30 AM our checkin.
2 Next Morning Breakfast. Tea, Coffee, Drinking Chocolate, Toast Butter and Strawberry Jam. The Toast had to be TOASTED BY THE GUESTS resulting in a QUEUE to use ONE TOASTER TOASTING 4 SLICES OF White Bread only, NO CHOICE of BREAD
THIS IS BREAKFAST EVERY MORNING
3 DINNER served at 8 till 9.30 PM My first Meal that was 3 courses consisted of
STARTER A Salad Mostly of Salad Onion Cucumber 2 thin slices and HALF of a thin
slice of Salimi a slice being about 3inches round, Childrens type portion
4 MAIN COURSE. CHICKEN CURRY, NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF CURRY as every thing on plate was white and COLD. I complained and the GUESTS STARTED CLAPPING
I was AMAZED The meal was reheated in a MICROWAVE OVEN and served to me
ALL MAIN COURSES CONSISTED OF MEAT AND ONE VEG IE. POTATO or RICE
THE SWEET. THIS CONSISED OF CREAM CARAMEL OR YOGHURT EVERY MEAL
THE PHOTOS ARE OF THE BEST MEAL OFFERED TO US
5 HORROR YOU MUST KEEP YOUR KNIFE AND FORK FOR EACH COURSE.
You only get ONE SERVIETTE to clean you and your fork and knife NOT very HYGENIC or HEALTHY IN HOT CLIMATE IE ECOILY my wife had runs for serval days and spent 1 day
in bed
6 WASHING. NO HOT WATER They say you can get HOT WATER Between 7.30 and 8.30 AM
or 6.30 and 7.30 PM Result 20 to 30 Guests are trying to SHOWER at these times
and NO ONE or VERY FEW get a Warm Shower note warm not hot. I managed 2 WARM
SHOWERS in 14 DAYS MY Wife HAD TO WASH HER HAIR IN COLD WATER
7 BEDDING Our bedding was changed ONLY ONCE in 14 DAYS after we requested it 4 days
before LEAVING.
8 TOWELS OUR TOWELS WERE CHANGED TWICE IN 2 WEEKS and looked as if they
had been left at one time by other GUESTS One Towel given to us had a hugh hole in
the middle of it that was changed next day without complaint I spoke to One Guest
Who told me about getting the same Towel and still had it
9 The ELECTRICS IN THIS BUILDING Leave a lot to be desired in Terrace at Reception Aera
there is a Junction box with NO COVER and bare wires EXPOSED. I have listened to
other guests describe PLUG SOCKETS HANGING OF THE WALL OR PART COVERS
BROKEN OR MISSING One Guest got Electrical Shocks whilst trying to iorn some clothes
10. Steps to entrance not lighted guard rail at top of entrance steps broken
Lights in reception Patio turned of at 10 o clock PM IE. no light on steps into
premises DANGEROURS AS GUESTS ARRIVE BACK FROM A NIGHT OUT.
11 THE LIFT this is dangerous it is small and pokey about TWO & A HALF TO THREE FEET
WIDE under powered and anyone forgetting the lift only carries One Person
COULD HAVE A PROBLEM IF DESCENDING FROM THE 5th FLOOR
THEIR IS ALSO NO WEIGHT LIMIT DESPLAYED IN LIFT
BUT TO BE FAIR THERE ARE NOTICES SAYING ONLY ONE PERSON AT A TIME IN LIFT

AGAIN TO BE FAIR THE NAME HOSTAL FLAMENCO is what it implies a HOSTAL
which is A BUILDING WHICH PROVIDES OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION AS A CHARITY
ESP, FOR THE HOMELESS OR A RESIDENCE FOR STUDENTS OR NURSES
OR TREATED AS A YOUTH HOSTAL FOR YOUNG PEOPLE OR HICKERS ON HOLIDAY
WHERE CHEAP AND SIMPLE ACCOMMODATION IS PROVIDED
In conclusion I feel Holiday Companys should not be selling this place as a HOTEL
as it is clearly not, I was told Hostal was Spanish for HOTEL clearly not
also a POOL VIEW OR SEA VIEW WAS OFFERED THEIR IS NO POOL VIEW
AS THE HOSTAL FLAMECO HAS NO POOL TO BE SEEN AS FOR INTERNATIONAL
CUISINE NOW THERES A JOKE A clear breach of
ADVERTISING The Only Good thing about staying at the Hostal Flamenco is the friends
you make as everyone has the same COMPLAINTS Half board very poor food no hot water
PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMMODATION AS A HOTEL AS IT DOES NOT
HAVE ANYTHING TO OFFER TO YOUR HOLIDAY ONLY SLEEP SORRY

We arrived at 2.45 am to find things just as "Wendy W "had described ,the lift was a scary experience followed by shock at the sight and smell of the shower room, filthy towels etc .Exhausted we covered the dirty bedlinen in our clothes sat down and one bed collapsed ,I "fixed" the leg of the bed, crawled into bed and the headboard crashed to the floor, this was just the start !Food just as bad,we to lost weight over the week. The staff were pleasant and friendly but seemed unable to address the many issues,"DEAL OF THE DAY" whom we booked with were hopeless and would only move us for 300 euros each to another resort. The actual resort was really nice but the "hotel" horrendous, even if we had been told it was a hostel we would have expected basic levels of hygiene .ps no pool

Room Tip: choose another hotel!!

Lets put this into perspective ...We have just returned from a lovely one week bed and breakfast at HOSTAL Flamenco... ! I have put Hostal in capitals as that is what its grading is and feel that the agents should be telling clients of this. The room was spacious, clean, plenty of storage sand had a balcony with lovely view and en suite, it is situated close to all amenitiies and could not be in a better position. Fiona the Manager/Receptionist was extemely helpful and was put under enormous pressure by residents who were expecting a five star hotel for the little money they paid. We had checked the accomodation on Trip Advisor before going and was full of trepidation of what we would find due to what would seem to be professional moaners putting unfair comments on here.
I took anti bacterial wipes for the bathroom just in case, the toilet seat was marked through age but when wiped it proved to be clean, the
showerroom on the landing was spotless. We had hot water everyday between the allotted times once again the Travel agents should be advising people of this. Yes breakfast is just toast and jam , coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice but again for the price charged this is acceptable and the same would cost you 3.50 Euros, in the cafes on the beachfront.
The only problem we suffered was lack of sleep some nights due to residents poor behaviour which could have happened anywhere and Fiona
done her best to resolve the problem by speaking to those responsible which included asking two guests to leave. Our bed sheets and towels were clean and we did not expect to have a TV in room as this was not advertised. the room is cleaned everyday with exception of Sundays. Wifi is available free which is not always provided by top class hotels. So if you are like us on a tight budget and require rustic spanish accomodation in a fab location I would recommend it. Thanks again Fiona

Room Tip: 2ND FLOOR Sea View and very spacious with balcony
