This was our second visit to this hotel in the last 12 months with our 4 and 5 year old boys, and we were not disappointed. We have not previously returned to the same place twice, but felt that the holiday village experience here was so perfect for their age group.
The hotel recognised that this was our second visit and left a bottle of bubbly in our room with a 'welcome back' note, making us feel valued as repeat customers.
Our boys remembered the kids club from last year and could not wait to go back each day, leaving us to relax by the pool. They always came out with beaming smiles, certificates, faces painted and talked about the activities they had done.
They spent most of their time playing in the splash pool which we considered to be a safe environment where we could keep an eye on them. They went to swim academy nearly every day and gained so much confidence that they could both swim unaided by the end of their holiday. Our 5 year old has just gained his 25 metre badge at home.... thank you so much Billy and Sam for the great way you interacted with the boys - it was much appreciated by all of us!
The First choice staff are always on hand and worked hard to entertain children and adults especially during the bad weather when I managed to beat Kayley 'picking up the box'!. Although repetitive for adults, the children could not get enough of the evening entertainment. We thought the entertainment was similar to last year's programme but had improved due to the quality of the reps.
The cleaning staff work unbelievably hard. Whether its in the restaurant and bars, around the pools or in the rooms they show great pride in their work. Hotel staff, especially the bar staff and waiters are brilliant with the children and always spend time talking to them during their long and busy day. Chocolate Wednesdays are still a big favourite and prove how good the chefs are. There is always a good selection of fresh food which caters for most tastes. The enthusiasm was very infectious from all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they just wanted guests to enjoy their stay.... thank you so much to all the staff for helping to make our holiday special.
We ventured out into Can Picafort on a few occasions. We decided to go on the land train but we had a very bad experience with this and would not recommend it for families with young children. We purchased tickets for the land train from the driver and tried to get on but it was too crowded. Some people were even standing in between the two carriages with children which we considered dangerous. We decided to wait in Trotters bar until the train came round again assuming that we would be able to get on the next one with the tickets we had already purchased, but when we attempted to get on the train, the driver took our tickets and ripped them up. Our children were upset that they could not get on. As we were walking back to the hotel 12 euros out of pocket, we met a family who had just been on the train but were short changed by nearly 40 euros. Whilst the land train seems like a good idea with children, it is very busy and in our experience you are likely to get ripped off!.
We went to the 'pirates' night in Magaluf. Although we felt it was expensive, it was an exciting evening and had our children entertained and fixated for nearly 2 hours.
We love the holiday village concept and we have already booked to go to Cyprus next summer - it can't come soon enough!!

Room Tip: For 15 euros per day you can upgrade to a room with garden and sun loungers. Blocks 3&4 are furt...

Can only repeat what has been written below really. I can't find fault with our holiday at Holiday Village Viva. This was our first experience of a Holiday Village and it won't be our last! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Rooms were clean and spacious, food was varied and amazing amount of choice and the entertainment team worked really hard. Our children didn't go to the kids clubs but they took part in other activities throughout the day and loved the i5live show each night! We are listening to the CD right now!!! We went to the beach twice and it was very clean - managed to still get sunbeds when we returned to the pool areas after lunch time. A relaxing holiday - our children were entertained and always found something they liked to eat - so happy children meant happy parents!

Stayed in Viva Holiday Village in early June for two weeks self catering . Was really impressed with the hotel layout and overall cleanliness . Staff were really pleasant and helpful . The First Choice team are really hardworking and always had a friendly smile to greet you . We travelled with two young boys (8 & 3) who had an absolute ball . The older one took part in loads of activities such as football academy (payable at 40 euro for two days) ,archery ,fencing and aeroball and the younger lad enjoyed the splash pool and the putting green . We ate out in C'an Picafort every night and found the quality of food varied . We found an Indian restaurant on Josep Trias st which was quite enjoyable but the best restaurant had to be Monacos on the same street - the special kebab is fabulous - succulent pork medallions on a skewer with spicy sauce ! There is a Burger King for the less adventurous and a couple of fairly average Chinese restaurants as well . Most restaurants are geared towards the German tourists but when you look closer you will find they all have an English menu and are very welcoming no matter where you come from . The best pubs in my opinion are on Calle Suisse ( The London Pub and Neill & Anns) and also Trotters On The Beach which is easy to find as there is the ubiquitous yellow Reliant Robin van on the roof !
We decided to try the AI for the last 3 days of our holiday and can thoroughly recommend it - the food was superb and the restaurant was really well managed . The bar never had a long queue although the plastic cups from the poolside bar were so small that you found yourself having to make frequent trips . At night the drinks are served in 250ml glasses which was an improvement . The onsite supermarket was a little bit expensive but there is a large supermarket less than 10 minutes away which was very good value . I would thoroughly recommend a trip to the pirate show in Magaluf (one hour by bus) which was bookable through the First Choice reps . The beach was quite nice but if you fancy a nice walk (40 mins) there is a beautiful beach at Son Balou which is much less packed . Overall a nice quiet family resort - we will be back !

Room Tip: Block 2 (the garden rooms are brilliant - you even have your own sunbeds)

I stayed at the holiday village in the first two weeks of June. The hotel I'd okay the rooms are a bit dated but quite big. We stayed in block 5 which had a nice pool view and was far from the stage so you couldn't hear the music. The weather was rubbish the first week and scorching the second, we really noticed it as the air-con in our room was terrible also I complained three times as the smell in our bathroom was disgusting in fact the whole block stank. When I complained to reception all they done was get a maid to spray air freshener in the room! The pools and grounds around the hotel are lovely and the snack bar and restaurant are pretty good. Even though the sunbeds are locked up till 8.30 people put towels down on the floor where they want to sunbathe. This to me is selfish and pretty sad. People would also put towels on the tables and chairs near the front of the stage for the evening entertainment! The queue for the bar can be long some nights but it goes down very quickly. I would say that the drinks you get are small if you ask for a beer during the day it's in a very small plastic cup and in the evening it's in a half pint glass, so it means a few trips to the bar. I got fed up with this so from the supermarket down the road I brought plastic pint glasses. All in all it's a good place for young families because the foods okay and the entertainment is pretty good. But don't expect a four star place.

We stayed here 3-14th June with children aged 5 years and 20 months. Had an absolutely fantastic time and really can't find any faults. I would highly recommend to families - it is just ideal.

Short transfer time from Palma, approx 45 mins and we were the first to be dropped off at the hotel. Easy check in with friendly night staff, offering food if we wanted it. Checked into the large apartment which had a separate bedroom with twin beds and room for a cot, large wardrobes etc. In the living area was plenty of room for another two beds. We had a comfortable stay in the apartment which was clean and spacious. Big balcony, we had a ground floor room which looked out onto a quiet road, not the best view but quiet and ground floor so ideal for us. There are ground floor rooms to the front of the apartment blocks which have gardens (there is an extra upgrade charge of around 15-20 euros per night for these?) The bathroom had a bath and shower and shower over the bath. There was a small kitchenette with fridge, kettle and mircowave. Tv with even cbeebies!! We stayed in Block 3 which had a duck pond just outside. We never experienced noisy neighbours or noise from the entertainment. My children slept better than they ever have!!

The food was fantastic, and my partner who is a chef never found fault! The food was always hot and plentiful. Hot and cold buffets, huge variety of cold meats, salads, hot meats, hot and cold pasta dishes, fish, vegetarian dishes, tapas, omelettes made to order, fresh breads, vegetables, potatoes, rice, really couldn't ask for anymore. Large selection of desserts, cakes, cheeses, fruits, ice creams. My children never ate from the kid’s buffet which had the usual chips, beans, nuggets etc as they enjoyed the other dishes on offer so much. We didn't find the food repetitive. The restaurant is extremely well managed, a section of the restaurant has highchairs at each table ready for you so never had to ask. Very clean and the restaurant staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Wednesday nights are a special treat, won't ruin the surprise for you! We never ended up eating in the Caribbean grill or Italian as we found it easier in the main restaurant with our younger child. Breakfast was also fab with continental and full english, fruits, pancakes made to order, yum! The bar staff are very friendly and polite, at the busiest time on an evening the queue never for more than a couple of minutes. The drinks and beer were all great. If your child drinks juice you may want to ask for it to be watered down though as it’s very strong squash! We were all inclusive, throughout the day you can help yourself to ice creams, fruit, biscuits, drinks and snacks from the pool bar. Drinks are given in plastic cups (for health and safety by the pool!!!). On an evening however the drinks are in glasses.

Huge thank you and well done to the First Choice team. They work extremely hard entertaining the children, literally 12 hours a day. There are a number of kids club sessions on throughout the day, you don't need to pre book, just turn up to which ever your child fancies (although sometimes there was quite a queue, we never got turned away as they brought in extra staff etc) The kids clubs are split into age groups, 3-5 yrs, 6-8, 9-11, etc from what i can remember. The team were very friendly, remembering the children's names and going out of their way to give them an enjoyable stay. On the days when we had rain, the entertainment team put on extras, such as mask making and layed out papers pens etc in the indoor bar. We were never stuck for something to do, even in the rain!! My son enjoyed all aspects of the entertainment which was put on. On the evening my children enjoyed the children's show which i think started at around 7:45pm to 9pm. It was then back to the apartment for us but there were further entertainment atcs on later into the evening. The outdoor stage area is next too a garden grassy area so the children also enjoyed playing together here. There are 4 large bunji trampolines which are supervised and it costs 5 euros for 10 mins. The only other activities which are chargeable is the Football Academy and Swim Academy. From what I heard, these were both really good and my eldest probably would have enjoyed these but to be honest we didn't find any spare time to fit anything else in!!

The swimming pools were fab with two huge outdoor main pools, a baby paddle pool (which is shaded under a large parasol) a splash/adventure type pool with mini slides, water sprays etc (which is also shaded under a roof in parts). We never had trouble getting a sun bed, although we often went to the beach in the morning and then enjoyed the pools after lunch. The splash pool does get particularly busy though so I imagine you’d have to set your alarm to get a bed by this pool. The splash pool wasn’t deep and my toddler enjoyed paddling in the pool and the mini slides. There is also an indoor heated pool which my children enjoyed on the rainy afternoon. The main outdoor and indoor pools are supervised by a friendly lifeguard. Behind the splash pool there is a playground with climbing frame/slide. There are plenty of gardens around the complex which are kept beautiful and clean.

Don’t bother packing beach towels as you can hire First Choice beach towels for a refundable 5 euros per towel and these can be changed Mon/Weds/Thurs. You can also hire a buggy (not sure about parasols though) for 4 euros per day (20 euros refundable deposit) or a price for the week – not sure what it was for the week.

The complex on a whole is clean, well managed, huge amount going on for children and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Outside of the hotel, Ca’n Picafort has a lovely beach and is just a 10-15 mins walk. We didn’t venture around too much with having young children so can’t comment too much on what’s available in the area. We were all inclusive (which I would definately recommend as the euro is so expensive!!) so never had to find somewhere suitable to eat.

Thanks again First Choice and all the team and hotel team at the Viva for this family friendly holiday, we really didn't want to come home!!

Room Tip: Block 3 which was quiet but not too far away

just arrived back from a fantastic 2 week break at the Viva Hotel C'an Picafort! On arriving, the reception staff were very polite and helpful, thought the pools and grounds were stunning, very well kept!apparently it had rained solidly for 10 days before we got there,we had 2 weeks of glorious sunshine though so no complaints there!
Our apartment was clean and a great size.It was perfect for the 3 of us (myself, husband and 4 year old).We had fresh towels put in our room daily and the room was cleaned daily too.
The complex isn't in a very suitable area as its a way from the beach and the surrounding area's aren't very nice.
The entertainment is all focused on the kids which is great!kids are constantly entertained and the adults get some time to relax and have a few drinks. The entertainment staff (Gavin,Lucy,Ryan and Michelle)are absolute STARS!!!!they work sooooo hard and do a fantastic job of entertaining the kids (and adults!!)my 4 year old son had a huge crush on Lucy!!!
The all inclusive food was really nice,no complaints there, plenty of selection and well cooked.(hence me coming home a stone heavier......)
The splash pool was brilliant!our son spent so much time in there!!made lots of friends and had lots of fun!!the only downside was you had to set your alarm clock to get a bed by the splashpool as people put their towels on as soon as the sunbeds are unlocked!!!!there was the odd idiot who would claim beds in the morning then go elsewhere all day, saddo's!!
All in all, nice place, great food and entertainment but surrounding area a bit of a let down.
Will definately go to another Holiday Village and maybe this one again in the future.

We have just returned from Holiday Village Viva after 11 nights stay with our two children aged 2 & 4 years. We had a fantastic time - for a full on family holiday it is ideal. The hotel grounds, pools and public areas are beautiful and really clean. The food/drinks are fantastic, suitable for all tastes and for a buffet - really varied (which is so often not the case when we have travelled before). The range of activities for children is wide ranging - although our kids refused point blank to go to the childrens club (boo!). Shrek appears a couple of times a week to have photos taken - although you need to listen out for the announcement, as timings of these are not clear (a word of warning, we found the Shrek swamp party very tedious, with Shrek appearing in the last 10minutes after over an hour of party games etc) - although kids really enjoyed it. The whole dreamworks thing in the first choice brochure is way over marketed - only Shrek and no other characters - we did think that it could be done a whole lot better (inc swamp party). A few things to point out to people considering going to Holiday Village Viva, firstly, there are no adult only areas, so no quiet spaces or a pool as some other hotels have which was fine for us, but wouldn't work for some people. Secondly, the rooms are clean and a good size, but they are not 4*, they are in desperate need for a refurb with the decor & furniture looking very tired. Finally, the hotel can be pretty noisy, again with so many kids & activities everywhere, again fine for us, but could be annoying if you want some quiet time. Overall, if you want an excellent hotel for a family holiday especially with young children - then Holiday Village Viva is perfect.

Room Tip: Rooms in block 4 or 5 are best!
